    Vigier guitar + Friedman (or Splawn Nitro head) + Splawn cab (or Torpedo live)
    OMG that's a dream rig !!!

    The Splawn Nitro is one of the most bad ass sounding tube amps I've ever been in the same room with. You don't see a ton of them, but I first got turned onto Splawn years ago on the Harmony Central Amp forums. It's got that super tight, super dry, ballsy modded hi-gain marshall sound. Extremely percussive low end, even with low tunings. That amp has so much fucking low end almost to the point of ridiculousness. I think I had to run it no higher than 10 o'clock or it got overwhelming. The one I played had KT88 power tubes in it I think. It caught peoples attention back in the day even though Splawn was a smaller company. Think Adam/Joel from Killswitch picked them up and started using them for a time as well. Great amp. I'd love to own one some day. I only got to tinker with one for a couple hours.

    I have heard from a few techs that they dont get Vigiers often but when they do, it's mostly because the necks have warped an it's almost impossible to get them back to the proper possition.

    Pretty cool video! Love the natural relicing on that first gutiar.

    Is it just me or does not having a truss rod seem like a really bad idea? Am I missing something? Is the neck made of something that doesn't bow? What?

      Probably quartersawn maple. Check out the Hufschmid facebook page for some stress test examples. The first that springs to mind would be Mr. Hufschmid standing and bouncing on top of one suspended off the ground. Quartersawn maple is incredibly strong.

      +mitchell2719 I looked into it. Vigier guitars have a "dense carbon strip" down the neck that they think stops it from bowing. Hmm.

      Deet Cologon they don't bow. trust me

      Don't you mean "truss me"

      Deet Cologon check vigier Shawn Lane, titanium rod.
      Other thing that can be used is some carbon bars or/and steel bars (allan Holdsworth's kiesel/carvin);
      Must be there others setups that allow that, but these are that I know.

    I got a Vigier in October2017 ~~
    ~~ best guitar I've ever bought.
    I have the Shawn Lane one that has insanely low and even action everywhere
    SL tended to use light strings → 9's which is how it came , perfectly set up.
    My other guitars are mainly 8's or 7's plus a couple with weird combinations.
    I really need to put new strings on it now[I'm such a lazy string changers] but the 9's already feel thinner as the Vigier is a shorter scale length and it takes such tiny amounts of pressure to play compared to my other guitars - cos theyr mainly Ibanez.
    I have a few packs of 8s ... different makes - which do vary slightly on the b,g,and d strings ,
    and one pack of 7s {Rev Willys}
    What to do now?
    ;~)

    So, I guess the Omega cab stays at home.

    So he uses the overdrive, noise gates and effects in the FX8 infront of the amp insteand than on the fx loop? That's cool.

    • @kevinbackroom
      @kevinbackroom 8 лет назад

      Matías De Luca incorrect. fx in the loop. stomps and gates in the front
