Even though this paled in comparison to it's sequel, there are a few things about KOFXII I rather like, mostly the presentation. There's some cool stages, and I like how loud the ambient noise from the crowd is. Really adds to the feeling of fighting inside a huge stadium.

the look of the game is a masterpiece,its like an anime that you have the control,i know that this version of the game,was missing a lot of things,but the stop motion effect,and the zoom is amazing,the character aside the edges are amazing and big in zoom in,i cannot understand why snk made the camera static,i suppose for pace and gameplay reasons

This game is GORGEOUS. Pixel art at it's finest. I think people have been blinded by 1080p, polygonal, mip-mapped madness and can't truly appreciate the effort that goes into a stunning game like this. I give SNKP kudos for keeping the art form alive. I'm sure someone will say BlazBlue is prettier, but those sprites look to be scanned in, not drawn meticulously, dot for dot.
what are u talkig Capcom vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium . . for the ps2 and dreamcast? if you never played go get it SvC chaos came out on the x-box 2004?

@cactussheep The only gripe i really had with XII was the lack of mainstay characters and a wide array of missing moves for the ones that where in. XIII fixed these two gripes and also went back to a '97-2002-like engine, which is either a good or a bad thing depending on who you ask. I personally would have liked to see what they could create with this one.

Your CC bar fills when stuff happens. When it fills, you get a period of time where your close Cs glow. Counter hitting someone with a glowing C who is on the ground puts you in CC mode.
Man, every time I see Ralph in KOF XII, I think "Goddamn, he's been OD'ing on those protein shakes". While I love the look of the game now, and I looove the fact that they actually spent time on trying to address some of the balance issues SNK has seriously suffered throughout the entire KOF franchise, it does kinda leave me feeling like there should have been a lot more characters-- especially since some characters have been around since 97' like Yamazaki are not present in this game...
I am really tempted to buy this. I already have King of Fighters 13, and that is awesome. But I want this one as well. Should I get this? I think I should. King of Fighters 12 looks fun.
Looks like a pretty amazing game, not sure if i want to pick it up though. I just got BlazBlue and I'm waiting to try KoF 98 and MvC 2 on XBLA. Lol too many fighting games coming out at the same time.
@Tadddius Yeah, they resorted to go back to 2D semi-original graphics (which in my opinion I believe it is what KOF is all about and I love it)... The backgrounds are in High Definition giving it some parts a 3Dimensional ambiance. All in all a very great set-up... Very much looking forward for KOF XIII ...
Does ANYBODY know of a website or ANYTHING that will help me learn the moves and combos?! I can't find a decent website and there's only 1 local machine that I know of, and it's pretty far away, so I can't practice as often!
DI: One difference between BlazBlue and KOF is that after we have the animators design things like the shadows, we go in and make corrections ourselves. JM: Yeah, compared to KOF, the BlazBlue sprites are closer to being hand-drawn, because we only use the 3D graphics as an outline. In KOF, they do all the shadows and shading in 3D, and then convert them into 2D sprites, but in Blaz Blue, we redraw the sprites by hand.
Yeah, I know what you mean. Vice would be nice, but I really want to see Mai Shiranui and Yuri Sakazaki. We;ll just have to keep our fingers crossed and wait. This game will be so EPIC!
Dude, I got this for my B-Day two days ago, and I as hard for me to say, between Street Fighter IV and Blaz Blue, KOF XII is the BEST fighting game out for the PS3 *that and Virtua Fighter 5* If the line up of fighting games for the PS3 is this stacked, I can't wait for Tekken 6 this fall!
I'm sad KOFXIII is removing this badass camera zoom. IT looks like an actual TV camera recording the action. It's intense and it's sad it's being removed. I know it made them look "pixelated" but goddamn look at this fight! It's cool! It just keeps the intensity you know?
@dajon220 KOF is sort of a mix between Tekken and SF. You've got special moves like in Street Fighter, but a lot more movement options like dodging, running and short jumps, and it plays on 4 buttons instead of 6.
Does anyone else have the problem of not being able to unlock the art work like i do on the ps3 version. It is really pissing me off. I have beatenthe entire game like 10 times and havent lost a match. To unlock artwork can you not lose with a single character? someone please answer me
well they did narrow it down to one super per character besides the ultra, and instead of having the third strike kind of parrying where you have to press forward or down at the right time, its one button(or med punch+med kick)
@tgbandroid17 I don't really see the point in making a fighting game run at +60 fps so I doubt this one does either. The increased speed is due to the different fight engine, not the framerate. I personally think that this doesn't look as good as SFIV but that is purely personal preference. I'm sure that the pixelated models are used as an artistic touch as those could be upgraded without any performance loss...

Its because they wanted to keep the 2-D as well as mix in a little 3D in the Character Models witch gives it more of a jagged edge
