Yes.. I'm from Ranipet (Ex Vellore District). Arcot located here, used to be huge province once. Similar way, Walajapet is located here, and Wallajah Road near Mount Road LIC building. Am very curious to learn their history

Seriously i font like Chennai name from my perspective Tamil Nadu means Madras by changed its name it gone back 300years Back bec all the people from World got knew Madras Bombay Calcutta i accept all 3changed now Bombay as Mumbai Calcutta as Kolkata But Madras totally differently as Chennai... 😕

Are ample examples for Madras nomenclature. The DMK government tried renaming few of these to Chennai but unfortunately the main problem was Madras was known world wide so they can't rename it!!
But still they say that they renamed Madras since it is an angliced name!!!

Tat time i thought if he come to power he will change but happened different... In India Madras is safest it should be capital by changed name its very big drawback. 8years back i went college tour to Srinagar there still naming us Madrasi LTTE like that 😊

It seems that there was a deed signed by king of V.KOTA(Venkatagiri kota,near kuppam,Ap) in favour of English Traders to give away land in chennai on which fort constructed...pl.comment sir....
Another reason to be named as Madras was that, during the Rule of the Arcot Nawabs, lot of Islamic schools called, Madarsas were started in the Triplicane, Mylapore area, , that's the reason they say.

Chennai was named after Chennai nayakan who was a Telugu. He sold some the so called Madaras pattanam to amount to Britishers. He sold out land yo Britishers and a traitor, but our Dravidian Karunanidhi, traitor of Tamils named it after him. Ha ha ha. It should be renamed after Kamara jar our then honest Chief Minister and our Tamil.
But renaming Chennai as Madras is possible
