I am 2017 LX owner, reached 90k mile in Saudi Arabia where we have extreme weather conditions, Heat, dust and other without any issues AT ALL. I wish they never stop producing this car. Thats a real review.
I’m living in Iraq and it’s so desirable, yes the Range Rover and German cars and way more better handling and have a good driving experience but at the end this car is stress free. In the city that I live when you by this car brand new it will cost you about 100K USD and after 4 years you can sell it for about 80,000$ which is a small depreciation considering the high starting price, I’m guessing the situation is pretty much the same in Saudi Arabia.
Donald Trump's Geissele URGI gas block the situation in Iraq is not good unfortunately. I was 13 years old when the war started in 2003 and I cannot forget my father’s emotions when the first rocket hit Baghdad he was so so happy that the US decided to take out the bloody dictator. My family lost 8 members in the chemical attack on Halabcha town in 1988. We are Kurds in the Kurdistan region of Iraq which was relatively safe during the war and if I’m not wrong no one from the coalition subjected to any kind of harm in the Kurdish region. The Kurds were and still love the US present in Iraq generally speaking. The Chinese virus hits US badly hopefully everything will return to normal within a few months. You were having a booming economy before Corona and it’s very sad to see the crazy left and the fake media is trying to benefit from such catastrophic situation shamelessly.

I owned 2008 2011 2015 2018 lx570’s And this car is amazing It doesn’t loose much value with time It’s reliable i just change engine oil and i didn’t need to do other maintenance It’s the only luxury suv that can do hard off road without any problems For me that’s all what i need for a car (Sorry for my bad english)
I love how the complaints are “these cup holders are too small, the gear shifter isn’t a button selector, the phone charger is too far and hidden…” my only complaint is that god-awful infotainment screen but besides that I would give my left nut to own one of these bad boys! That Toyota/Lexus reliability is unmatched by any other luxury suv, there’s a reason these are driven to the ends of the world and make it back without a second thought!
7:54 I lived in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates for a while. Saw 3 different LX-570s less than 30 minutes apart. Lexus really does know their customers.
Doug and alot of these RUclips "experts" just don't get it.. Lexus and Toyota isnt about being on the bleeding edge of technology, they're all about reliability and dependability.. those analog gauges will still work in 25+ years while your fancy Audi cluster will be on its 5th trip to the dealership to get replaced for a couple grand each time.
rich folks who can afford this will change the car every 5 years anyway that's why all of the top end models dare to include all of the electronics crap
I tend to agree with you but when it comes to reliability an analog gauge cluster is not necessarily better than a digital one. Also the amount of functionality you're able to integrate into a digital cluster is a huge advantage. I love the Porsche way with analog and digital elements but that's out of my league.
The shifter stick is really useful for those of us who want to downshift when you are on snow. I disagree with Doug on that, I hope they keep it, forever.
though it's real nice of him doing that so i dont have to do it myself, inner me hates it. mostly because my own car gets worse fuel economy than a freaking Navigator with a twinturbo 3.5L engine, compared to my 2.5L single turbo
But the Avalon's grille is not only well sculpted, modern, well proportionate, yet works with the rest of the design and aesthetics, but it's actually very well done overall. Especially with the right amount of cool factor to combine the cool-sophisticated design it has that's otherwise beautifully mature even for a large sedan. Including those beautiful expensive Full-LED signature headlights that are made out of laser-beams hence the design with those eye-catching sequential turn signals to match..
@ZionHillCalling he compares cars to their equivalent models, he makes overall comprehensive reviews with a few mistakes. When it comes to driver's cars Doug knows what he's talking about. When you are a car enthusiast and can understand love of a mechanical tool you might enjoy these reviews a bit more
My thoughts exactly, he praised the chiiron for using timeless analog gauges but bashes Lexus for doing so. Doug is clearly biased in his views always praising appear weight luxury cars I don’t know why he doesn’t just stick to reviewing those since he clearly likes them more
If I want reliability. I can buy many other pre owned suv that could last just as long at a fraction of that price. If I’m paying 90k I expect a 90k SUV not a robust brick. This is the laughing stock in the suv world.
@@nero786 please go to the nearest dealership, take a test Drive and then tell if it's a brick or a SUV. I do agree that a lot of the features are old school but it will last for ever.
Rahul S no thanks I’d rather take a trackhawk. Test drove one. I just can’t see any reason why anyone would want to buy one here in the US. It’s ludicrous. Want reliability? Get a Toyota. And it’s cheaper. This suv has no business existing.
@@BlakeParker15 Yeah until your air suspension and tranny die. When you gotta shell out a fortune for repairs you feel "so much better" then everuone else. I had a '08 LR that fookin broke four times before its warranty ended.
The thing is that people who spend nearly 100k on a new car usually don't keep the car around for long enough to actually have troubles with their reliability. They'll just buy or lease a new Range Rover every 3 years or so, before the car starts being problematic.
Absolutely. That's usually how it is, though. Most videos about cars praise them because the reviewer doesn't want to offend the manufacturer and not be able to get any more cars in the future. The most entertaining videos are the ones where the reviewer is honest and holds back no punches.
I live in Abu Dhabi in Emirates you're right the customers who bought the LX570 NEEDS THE RELIABILITY , COMFORT AND OFF-ROAD CAPABILITIES . They don't care about technology and that stuff .
But there are other lexus models that have nicer interiors and good reliability. Also people that buy cars these expensive generally just have them 3-4 years
@Alec Empire who cares if it's an old design? Humans have been using knives for 10,000s of years with very few changes in design. Land cruisers are cheap as fuck to own relative to any other car at that price point
@Alec Empire my money will stretch waaaaayyy further than yours. This car is overpriced and needs to be upgraded . While you're spending a million dollars trying to maintain a range or benz I'm over here stackin my bread....who wins in that situation?
Despite its supposed shortcomings I'll take one over any of its competitors. All the others are endless money pits who in the long run will cost way more to own and maintain

@@ducky5336 he gave the new range rover he tested a very high score. and i agree with him, range rover is a masterpiece and the king while this lexus is a disaster. trash
Yeah Range Rovers aren’t the most reliable but dear god they’re luxurious and look unbelievable. Such wonderful suvs aside from the money you’ll dump into repairs but then again If you’re purchasing a car in the $100k territory you’re probably not too concerned about repair costs.
I am usually a fan of Doug’s reviews but this one entirely misses the mark. This vehicle is a rare case of knowing your target buyer. Those of us who love this car love it in its current form. We don’t need digital gauges and touch screen everything. This car is about solid build quality, comfort, practicality and reliability. Which in my opinion, its a 10/10 in all of those categories. Amazing car, terrible review.
I bet youre not a avarage 95,000 dollar car buyer either? People who buy cars at that price want luxury, which this does not offer. And thats clearly visible when you look at the sales figures.
I love Doug and ordinarily think he’s on- target. But I think he’s completely missed the point of this vehicle. This is kinda’ corroborated by notion that he “absolutely loves Land Cruiser.” They’re separated by just a couple of features and a few grand. Swing and miss, Doug. But everybody strikes out now and again.
That is because he is an idiot and he doesn't know anything about cars this stupid American is saying that Lexus is a disappointment when it is the most reliable suv Lexus has ever made and the remote touch is the best control for the infontainment system than some trash touchscreen if it was a touch screen I would have been in an accident because I am fiddiling around touching it but the remote touch system is much better that it's so easy to use without any lag and I will still keep my eye on the road Than something this idiot said his stupid quirks and features

@@maccam9808 people don't keep cars for a long time. Most that I know don't. Having said that, I've had Chrysler, Ford, Toyota, BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, Infinity, and now Audi. Not one of them gave me problems over the last 25 years. I kept them and paid them off back then. I was taught, if you take care of a car, it'll take care of you. So what? For price and quality, you can't beat Lincoln right now in SUV's. Now, if you're in the used car market, that may be a different story, but not if it's from the car dealer. I say get what you like, not for brand name sake, especially when numbers are trumped up.
The One so you’ve had 8 cars in 25 years and paid them all off in that time? Seems off. You feel like a fanboy trying to make a point without having owned any of these cars
You can't really compare the Navigator to the LX though, like you said, only one of them will still be worth 70% or more of its original value in 10 years....
Land Cruisers and Lexus LXs loose most of value the first few years, but at between 100k-170k miles and 8-10 years old they sit right around 20k to 30k. Don’t believe try looking for an 2007 Land cruiser with 125k miles you would be very surprised. There is an avid off roader waiting for this car to drop down to 30k and they will be very happy to buy at 8-10 from now. Overlanders drool for this cars.
Washu Ai lol that’s true. But that 95,000 will barely cover maintenance and repairs over a 10 year period of owning a new Benz 😂 everyone just needs to stick to something cheap and reliable
A critic posing as an unbiased reviewer...This guy does not like Lexus' at all. He loves the Range Rovers and none of its competitors is acceptable to him.
@Dinuka Wimalagunasekara That's what I was thinking. Seems like these could save you a nice chunk of change when you sell it and move up. The few people (but all if them) that I know that have luxury SUVs have a new one in a few years.
I prefer the physical gauges opposed to the computerized digital screen version. I also prefer this gear lever opposed to the buttons or dials. It's a great looking vehicle and I honestly think you're griping for no reason. Older people are usually the groups of people who are buying these and I'm sure these named systems are easier to use, plus it gives you the sense of them not over engineering things for the sake of satisfying progressives.
The named systems are not easier to use for people who have even less fine motor control than a middle aged man. I know from experience cross shopping vehicles with an elderly relative who was struggling to use the mouse because he wasn't able to balance the sensitivity. Even old people use touch screens these days, and a mouse pad is far more overengineered than a simple touch screen. The physical gauges and gear lever stuff is a matter of opinion, but there's no denying that this isn't a sports car, it's a luxury car, and it's much harder to justify crappy cupholders and a lack of features in the centre on a car intended to be high tech and cutting edge.
@@kingarchnyc 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ My point was that when driving I don't want to look at screen to change temperature of air conditioning or something like that. So I want physical buttons to stay in cars. One infotainment screen is fine but then look at new audi a8. That is just honestly stupid af. If I wanted to look at some screen I have better stuff on my phone. But for same reason I don't wanna use phone while driving I don't wanna use screens in cars.
jozo šaravanja I agree, a good balance of touchscreens and buttons is good. My current car put the air outlet selection at the way at the bottom farthest and u have to press it several times to get what u want. Take my eyes off the road. Bad design.
Lmao, doug is basing the price on the techs alone. This is a body on frame fam! Thats why it is expensive and the quality is far better than your range rover.
I agree the price is silly. Especially the regular trim Land Cruiser. Priced only a bit cheaper than the LX. But compared to the TOTL Land Rovers, you could own this truck for 20 years & take it off road with just basic maintenance. While I would never actually buy a Land Rover. Only Lease it. Because I know It will have issues. Just get a new one every few years lol
??? Better than a Range Rover?!?! Bud the interior in this thing looks like cheap plastic. Although range rovers r incredible unreliable they have good tech and very good quality materials
Yeah, the 4Runner is body on frame too. The Jeep Wrangler. The Chevy Tahoe/Suburban; the GMC Yukon/Yukon XL; the Cadillac Escalade. The Ford Expedition; the Lincoln Navigator. Out of that entire list, only two *much larger* vehicles ever get close to its price - the Escalade and the Navigator. The LX is overpriced, plain and simple, especially given its age and relative simplicity.

Amen!!!
