    Mackie Thumps are powered PA speakers that need no introduction. Since their initial release over a decade ago, they have been the choice for many peoples' first PA system. Mackie continues to refine the Thump line, with the newest models offering more power and sleeker design than their predecessors. The speaker I have today, the Mackie Thump 212XT, is an upgraded version of the normal Thump with more built-in effects and features, Bluetooth capability, and even rigging points for flying. It's a super portable, easy to use speaker that I'm very happy to have in my arsenal.

      @@fayzereviews Hello dear Fayze,
      Sorry to bother you but,
      I just got the new Mackie XT this morning.
      When I unpacked them, there were a lots of particles of oil inside the plastic bag and on the speakers too.
      When I plugged them there is a very strong hiss noise for both speakers (First time I hear this so loud on Active Speakers)
      Did those matters happened to too?
      When you got therm,?
      Should I send them back to the shop?
      Thanks for your time,
      Very appreciate it,

      Charley,
      Good to hear from you. Oil and hissing definitely does not sound normal - something must have happened to those speakers. I would definitely swap them out for a different set.

    I bought a pair of these along with a Thump 118s sub. The "thru" output doesn't pass along the Bluetooth signal. The only way BT works is via the link option. I went with these because of the BT feature mainly. Thinking about the ease of running these and not needing to drag along a mixer. I asked Mackie what their thoughts were behind this and got no response other than... we will pass this along to our team.

    • @yonickmyman
      @yonickmyman Год назад

      why not just use a mixer that has bt support or get a bluetooth dongle for a mixer. Simple solutions. mixers can get rlly small too if "dragging" along a mixer is the issue.

    • @rcb_matt
      @rcb_matt Год назад +2

      @@yonickmyman totally. I ended up buying a Bluetooth adapter. My issue is they push these at Bluetooth capable… which they are to an extent. My thoughts were for using these without a mixer in some instances. 75% of the time I need the mixer so it’s no big deal. But other times it would be nice to have these linked and not have to worry about the extra cables and mixer.

    • @robertschnobert9090
      @robertschnobert9090 Год назад

      @@rcb_matt it seems so bizarre to me to pay thousands for a PA system and then ruin the quality by using Bluetooth. Just pay 5 more bucks for an aux cable or something, come on! Your audience will thank you :)

    • @rcb_matt
      @rcb_matt Год назад

      @@robertschnobert9090 apparently you missed the part where I said “running these without a mixer”. I have a digital mixer… so for times that I need someone to thank me, I’ll bring it along. For other times… Bluetooth works fine. Unless of course, you bought this Mackie setup.

    I'm wondering.... I direct children's classroom musicals. We perform in the school gym/multi-purpose room (audience: 100-150 parents). I have an older pair of Thump 15" speakers which are due to be replaced. Would 12" speakers be undersized for our venue. Low end is not an issue. To make children's voices audible, we need more high than low. I'm looking at the 215XT speakers now, but I'd prefer the 212XT if they were loud enough for our venue.

What company these days doesn't know that true wattage specs is the 1st thing customers look for when purchasing any speaker. This could be a 300 watt RMS Loud Speaker with fluffed wattage numbers like many crappy companies we see being reviewed on RUclips today and being called out for fake wattage numbers.
