Great speaker for busking! 1.The bluetooth function is really good. I sometimes busk karaoke style so being able to freely use my phone that I keep on my mic stand is great. 2. The transporting is awesome. The pullout handle and wheels give you that suitcase vibe. The two large handles on each side are nice and sturdy. 3. It's battery powered which is super great. It'll give you between 4-5 hours if cranked up fairly loud. For street busking it's perfect because you don't want to go past a certain decimal anyhow when you are in a public space. So it's honestly more than you'll need. 4. It'll also have all the standard inputs you'll need for microphones and instruments.

I love the distance tests! Great review! I also have the AA ELS GO 8 BT. I bought it like 2 weeks after it became available back in like 2015. It has a poor quality sound, but volume got real loud for a 8" battery powered speaker! I still have it, but I have been using a Bose S1 Pro for the last few years. I now want a speaker with microphone as with the Bose I have to run power to a wireless mic system. I doubt this APX 12 will have sound quality as well as my Bose, but with a 12" woofer, it should have decent bass, and the fact it has a UHF microphone and not a VHF mic, is enough of a reason for me to buy this speaker. I would use this at cocktail hours at the weddings I do. Sometimes a bride/groom want to make a speech there, and I usually have to make at least announcement to invite guests to the reception.

Excellent review overall. And loved your distance measurements. I suspect you may have gotten a bit more distance had you been eyesight level with the speaker. But you gave us a good idea of how far the signals reached and those distances are more than enough for most events. Glad you compared it to previous models. Helps eliminate some possibilities. Thanks again - considering picking it up for my wife who is an MC and does some outdoor events (like store openings, community charitable events) and for me for some small DJ happenings (e.g. house parties). I would have liked more low-end capability but will see how these sound first.

Hey Fayze So I went ahead and purchased these. They produce great sound. Any reason why my remote doesn't work. Cant seem to control anything on the speaker. Same goes with the remote on the other speaker I purchased.

Thank you! I’ll be honest, that’s probably way over my head technologically so I’m not sure haha. There isn’t any sort of readout as to what the frequency is, so you’d have to figure that out yourself and go from there.
seems like a good unit. for my purposes, perhaps a bit overkill. I do guerilla filmmaking/low budget music videos, and was wondering if you'd recommend something that's between this unit (a bit too large/attention-grabbing) and something like a Beats Pill XL (like a small bluetooth boombox, that's just slightly underpowered for performing outdoors in the wind, doing a onemanband video shoot). I've been using the Beats pill but it sometimes isn't quite loud enough, the freq response is garbage but not ultra important for playing back songs for performers to lipsync to,..but yeh, the Beats Pill XL got recalled (battery is a fire hazard) and I was recommended this unit, but it seems overkill and not as discrete as I would prefer for getting pick up shots doing music vids. it does look cool, and seems to have good features for a variety of use cases, but it's just too big for a more discrete grab and go setup

I definitely do! I find a million uses for mine. When I’m working in the garage or hanging in the back yard it’s my go-to. I also take it out for small social events in the neighborhood! Mines a little over a year old and I’m still getting at least 6 hours of battery life (that’s how long my last event was at least)

My brother-in-laws are both surgeons and although its a lot of hours the payout is good in being able to afford any college for my nieces and nephews. Plus living in an area sought out by most is also a plus. Good luck in your endeavors.

Get a Bt transmitter, and use the XLR out to the Bt transmitter, then use it to send a BT signal to the other apx12 go bt speaker.

Is the frequency on the mic selectable?
