    I have made both the Dhalpuri and Bussup Shut Roti and they were a hit in my household. Now, I make enough to freeze them for rainy days. Thank you for the tip on vinegar.

    Erica I tried your version but forgot to put a tiip of vinegar and I must say it came out silky and soft oh. I used 2 cups flour and got 4 large puri. Thank you

    My daughter 3 yrs old wanted roti last night so I try ur recipe it came out great but I ent profect it as yet d dhal didn't reach 2 d ends in all but she love it thanks so much will try again dis wz 1 of d most difficult recipe 4 me

    I am very excited to see young people are cooking, most importantly keeping the tradition of there roots.     Erica, I made ur Dhalpuri Roti. It’s soft and silky. I don’t have a single hops left this morning after making that last night. I guess the Dhalpuri will suffer the same fate. I just finished, so it’s a matter of time before it’s all gone. Do you have a phulourie recipe using split peas powder or ground? Thank you for sharing your recipes.     Well young lady, I feel very happy and proud to see a youth like yourself teaching an incredible skill so successfully, I am a real Trini and I love meh roti but girl I need ah little extra help than usual with getting the dhall to spread to the ends and also have a little challenge with my heath and was wondering if it possible to aquire a successful dough for both your dhall puri and buss up shot if I were to use a stand mixer, Thanks in advance and you have a Huge fan in me!❗ Keep it up and May my Lord Jesus Christ bless your videos to grow from strength to strength 🙏😊❗🇹🇹

      Hi, thank you 🙏🏼 Yes, you can use a stand mixer on low with the dough hook attachment. But don’t over-mix, only knead the dough until it’s combined and smooth.

    I have tried so many different methods of roti … but your looks by far the best looking 💗💗… I noticed you did not add oil or margarine to the flour as I would normally. I will try your method thank you so much 💗💗💗

    Love your recipe, I can't wait to try it out. I never heard of vinegar in the roti, but I'm excited to try it out. How much of vinegar do I add to 3 cups of flour.. 🙏🙏🙏

      Hi, here’s the ingredients list:
      Filling:
      1 lb dhal (yellow split peas)
      3 large pimento peppers
      1 large hot pepper (or more to taste)
      6 large garlic cloves
      12 chadon beni leaves
      1 tsp brown sugar
      2 tsp salt (or to taste)
      1/4 tsp tumeric/saffron powder
      2-3 tbsp ground geera (or more to taste)
      1 1/2 tbsp vegetable oil
      Dough:
      4 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
      4 tsp baking powder
      1 3/4 cup very warm water
      1 tsp vinegar
      Extra flour for rolling dough
      1/2 cup vegetable oil for cooking roti
      If you want to use 3 cups of flour average 3/4 tsp vinegar.

      Hi, you can try using what is available to you. In Trinidad we use the yellow split peas-dhal in this recipe.
