    My wife has a Mach-E and I have a Tesla Model Y and I really like them both a lot. They both have more strengths than weaknesses and each are very good in their own right. I will say I have been incredibly impressed with the Mach e build quality, and battery performance has been very similar between the two given both are long range versions. I’m a tech-gadget guy so I love the Tesla along with its styling whereas my wife wanted something that wasn’t as big of a leap from an ICE vehicle but had strong tech features as well, and the Mach e delivered on those attributes in spades. You can’t go wrong with either really but cudos to Ford for making a great EV (just remove the Mustang please 😊)!

      @@david-yj4qwpersonally I love the design of the car, its a practical crosssover suv. If its were gas it would definitely be a lot more popular. The only problem with it is the range. Mine gets 250 on a sunny day. I just wish it could get closer to the 300-320 mark. Then we could get bragging rights over Tesla. Wed still have to fight about the charging speed but we would have more range than a model Y

  • @rwlund
    @rwlund 3 месяца назад +9

    We have owned both a Mach-e and a Tesla Model Y for almost year and half now. The Mach-e is a fine car and we like it. But both my wife and I prefer driving the Tesla, especially on longer drives. I disagree with the video opinion that the Mach-e drives better and has a better build quality. I would say build quality is equal, but in very different styles. If you like traditional car design, busy with lots of buttons, then Mach-e. If you like modern and clean, then Tesla. The
    Tesla Model Y seating position is much higher like driving a medium size SUV, while Mach-e feels like a passenger car. The range is better and charging better on the Tesla. The Model Y carries way more cargo. The over air updates on Mach-e are minimal and major updates require trip to dealer. Tesla rolls out all sorts of new stuff with overnight in your garage. For those shopping an EV, is would be a mistake to dismiss Tesla without really checking it out. Musk is a loon, but my car was built in California by Bay Area workers so I am cool with that.

    The Model Y is down to $36K. Tesla has been making EV drivetrains for 15 years; Ford has only 3 years of EV experience. Under the hood (where it counts) the Mach-E has no real experience with EVs. If you want the best EV, nothing beats a Tesla.

      This is axiomatically incorrect. Ford had an electric car in 1914 (even used as a police car). They have had electric and hybrid vehicles in other countries for well over a decade. Further, it is quite juvenile to assume that one of the largest auto manufacturers in the world would not have the engineering capability to create a reliable electric vehicle. Tesla is in big trouble now that other manufacturers can utilize superchargers.
