I do not know I am saved because of good deeds and no bad deeds. Over 40 years I experienced the Holy Spirit inside me. I have experienced the Holy Spirit convicting me of sin after coming to Jesus. Paul said the Spirit is a down payment a guarantee that I am God's. That for me is evidence that I have become a child of God. I still struggle with sin.

I played golf today and i thought these same things today as I was playing and my husband has a golf ball that has his initials imprinted on them its crazy its like God is telling me to trust him alone always because he loves me and he died for my sins to save me so I can be with him forever. First off, Hebrews 6 says IF you fell away, you could not get salvation back. So youre eternally secure, or salvation is a one shot deal. Second, if you could lose your salvation, your'e till in no better shape than an unbeliever. you may fail, he may believe in the end. fatalism. Eternal security is the only salvation that makes any sense. Fathom the injustice of living an entire life of faithfulness, failing at the end and going to hell, while an unbeliever believes at the end and enters heaven with nothing but faith and a lifetime of sins. it amounts to fatalism and logically, nonsense.
if one is inclined to sinning and also does not repent of their sins...they are hell bounded and also never were saved to begin with...if one is saved...the Holy Spirit works within a person and changes him from the inside...if there are no changes...then he never was saved to begin with...
How to be truly born again. Our life is now going in the opposite direction. We will at times sin but it won't be a continual thing if we are walking with Him in the Spirit. If we sin 1John1:9 (If) we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We are forgiven (if) we confess to Him and ask for forgiveness. If you won't ask for forgiveness you won't be.
Hey I can tell by all your comments that you are struggling with your faith and have doubts, but I just want you to know that I don't want you to doubt your salvation and neither does God. Remember this: God loves you. Jesus is God in the Flesh. God the creator of all things willingly stepped into his creation born as a human being the man Jesus to willing die on the cross to pay for your sins because he loved you that much. He was buried, and he came back from the dead. And he promised if you would believe he did this for you, and believe in him alone as your savior he would save you. Believe means believe! The wolf says "you're safe . . . no danger here . . . no harm can come to you." Bottom line, easy-believism's "faith alone, instantly saved, eternally secure" message DEFIES ALL THE WARNINGS provided in scripture. I'll list some of those warnings below. Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear: For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee. Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off." ⚫ Hebrews 4:1: "Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it." ⚫ 1 Corinthians 9:24-27: The apostle Paul clearly refuted "once saved, always saved": he stated he could become a "castaway." Here's verse 27: "But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway." ⚫ 2 Peter 2:20-22 If, after overcoming sin through knowing Jesus, a person then returns to sin, "the latter end is worse with them than the beginning." "For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire." ⚫ Hebrews 10:26,27 delivers the same warning about returning to sin: "For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries." ⚫ Hebrews 6:4-6 It IS possible to fall away, even after receiving the holy spirit! @The Bible Says Apologies for digging up an old post, but in reference to the conditions of losing faith that you pose in these parts of scripture (which I am hard-pressed to refute in of themselves, in most cases), what do you make of what Jesus tells to those seeking him in John 6;35-40. More specifically, what does it mean when Christ says he will by *no means* cast out those that are given to him by the Father? I've heard arguments that He will not cast you out, but you can leave of your own volition by abandoning the faith -- yet I find it difficult to reconcile such thoughts when God not only promised us the gift of salvation through His Son for the *purpose* of good works (Eph. 2;8-10), in that he also promised to equip us with the ability to resist sin, and He who began a good work in you will carry it to completion (Phillipians 1:6). With these verses it seems to me that both our justification *and* sanctification are anchored in the character of God and His Son. But, as you and I both know, there is only one Gospel and one truth. I don't believe there are contradictions in the Bible, but I *do* believe there are paradoxes -- matters that we, as man, can't come to terms with on our own. While I'm not certain as to the purpose of this, I can only say it draws me to more fully look to Him than myself. I'd love to hear your thoughts, and God bless!

In this present mortal life we are in *justification* and have "the hope of salvation" as Paul wrote in 1 Thess 5:8,9. If we remain in justification we "shall be saved" as stated by Peter and Paul (Acts 15:11 and Romans 5:9). We are urged to "give diligence ot make our calling and election sure" - NOT to coast along presuming we're already "saved." It is very clear from scripture that we CAN fall away from justification - no longer in repentance, no longer abiding in Him - and we have many warnings not to let that happen. @@TheBibleSays You've exhorted upon me a great deal more than I expected! For the longest time I've always held to what I learned as a child -- but I learned only very recently in my life that it's through obedience that we are able to shed away our preconceptions about what we *want* the truth to be, and what is actually presented in the Word of God. I cannot deny that there is vigilance to be had in keeping with repentance and trusting God to work that in me through the Holy Spirit. I'll ask God to give me more faith, and ask that you pray for me likewise, as selfish as that may be. On another note, there is an issue that I find myself on the fence about, but not necessarily alarmed over -- the argument of free will vs. predestination. If we believe in Christ, as a gift that was freely given to us by God through His Son and one we are not deserving of -- it would naturally point us towards giving God all of the glory that He deserves. With that in mind, I find the details of how we exactly came to our faith mostly irrelevant. It's one of the points that makes me sad when I see Calvinists and those that promote free-will in salvation calling each other heretics.

You'll know you've been saved when you have actually received eternal life at Jesus' return. Short of that, you'll perish, losing everything, very much unsaved. As Jesus said, we must endure to the end to be saved (Matthew 10:22). Meanwhile, in this mortal life, we have "the hope of salvation" and "shall be saved" - in the future - at Jesus' "revelation" or return. Whats this mean? We can KNOW? 1 John 5:13 (KJV) These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
What does sealed mean? Promise? Ephesians 1:13-14 (KJV) In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

(Jesus, in John 15:6) Having the holy spirit is necessary. But having it is not a guarantee. We must choose to be *led* by the holy spirit . . . otherwise, the holy spirit is ineffective. First of all, you need to learn how to RIGHTLY DIVIDE the Bible The whole Bible is for Christians but not all of it is ABOUT Christians. Numerous times Paul told pe3kple to bw saved all you have to do is believe. Not once do I see a plainly clear scripture that says if we sin that we lose our salvation Born again? You are born again one time. You cant lose it one day then get it back, oh lose it Friday and back to saved Sunday. That is not biblical. Paul also had a big fight with sin he couldn't stop. We receive that at Jesus' return. Not until then will we match Jesus' description of born again or born of the spirit: ⚫ "That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit." (John 3:6-8) ================== In this mortal life we may enter justification with God, and have His spirit in us. We have many warnings not to fall away from justification. Here are a few: ⚫ "If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned." (Jesus, in John 15:6) You must first *be* a branch before you can be "cast forth as a branch." And obviously we *can* be "cast forth" after becoming a branch. Jesus did not say "once a branch, always a branch." It's amazing to me that anyone could conclude you're still "saved" after being "cast off as a branch" and "withered" and "cast into the fire" and "burned." Simply amazing . . . but people will believe what they want to believe. Jesus clearly warned what would happen to servants who returned to sin: ⚫ "But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken; The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers." (Jesus, in Luke 12:45,46) "Once saved, always saved," with "eternal security"? Apparently not. Sins "all paid for, past, present and future"? Apparently not. That servant was going to pay for his sins himself. The apostle Paul had the holy spirit. Paul clearly refuted "once saved, always saved": he stated it was possible for him to revert to a life of sin and therefore be rejected . . . a "castaway": ⚫ "But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway." (1 Corinthians 9:27) There's a message there for all who have been misled to believe that *having* the holy spirit is a guarantee of your salvation. We must remain in repentance, being *led* by the holy spirit (Romans 8:13,14) and "walking after the spirit" (Romans 8:1) . . . not just _having_ it and ignoring it. The apostle Paul warned that Gentile believers - even after being "graffed" into the "vine," - could be "cut off" the vine, just as the "natural branches" (the Israelites) had been broken off: ⚫ "Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in. Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God." (Romans 8:13,14) It IS possible to fall away, even after being made a "partaker" of the holy spirit! There would have been no point in writing the next passage if it were impossible to fall away: ⚫ "For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame." (Hebrews 6:4-6) We can "fail of the grace of God": ⚫ "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled" (Hebrews 12:14,15) Our names CAN be blotted out of the book of life: ⚫ "He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels." "And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book." I do not know I am saved because of good deeds and no bad deeds. Over 40 years I experienced the Holy Spirit inside me. I have experienced the Holy Spirit convicting me of sin after coming to Jesus. Paul said the Spirit is a down payment a guarantee that I am God's. That for me is evidence that I have become a child of God. I still struggle with sin.
This is the truth.The truth sets us free. Free from doubt and a faith that wavers. God is not a god of confusion. The line is drawn clearly on how a sinner can be saved. Im autistic and have adhd. My emotions are all over the place and some days Im sure I’m saved and can answer yes to the questions and some days (like today) Im very anxious and not sure. At this point im leaving in God’s hands and trying not to feed my thoughts when I am down.

I played golf today and i thought these same things today as I was playing and my husband has a golf ball that has his initials imprinted on them its crazy its like God is telling me to trust him alone always because he loves me and he died for my sins to save me so I can be with him forever. Now I'm dealing with insecurity and letting go and trusting him that he loves me and doesnt want me to die with out him because he died for me and doesnt want to live without me.

That sounds like Lordship Salvation. My salvation is because of what I believe, not what I do to prove I believe something. Everyone on youtube says that you aren't saved by just believing. You gotta change your life. You can't live in sin after you are saved or you aren't TRULY saved.

First off, Hebrews 6 says IF you fell away, you could not get salvation back. So youre eternally secure, or salvation is a one shot deal. Second, if you could lose your salvation, your'e till in no better shape than an unbeliever. you may fail, he may believe in the end. fatalism.
Eternal security is the only salvation that makes any sense. Fathom the injustice of living an entire life of faithfulness, failing at the end and going to hell, while an unbeliever believes at the end and enters heaven with nothing but faith and a lifetime of sins. it amounts to fatalism and logically, nonsense.

People need to WAKE UP because there is massive deception going on. Spiritual warfare is raging and most don't realize it.
IF "eternal security" were true, then there would have been no point in warnings like these:
⚫ John 15 verse 6:
"If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned." (Jesus, in John 15:6)
It's amazing to me that anyone could conclude you're still "saved" after being "cast off as a branch" and "withered" and "cast into the fire" and "burned." Simply amazing. Jesus did not say "once a branch, always a branch."
⚫ Romans 11:19-22: The apostle Paul warned that Gentiles, even after being "graffed" into the "vine," could be "cut off" the vine, just as the "natural branches" - the Israelites - had been broken off:
"Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in.
Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off."
⚫ Hebrews 4:1: "Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it."
⚫ 1 Corinthians 9:24-27: The apostle Paul clearly refuted "once saved, always saved": he stated he could become a "castaway." Here's verse 27:
"But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway."
⚫ 2 Peter 2:20-22 If, after overcoming sin through knowing Jesus, a person then returns to sin, "the latter end is worse with them than the beginning."
"For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

⚫ Hebrews 10:26,27 delivers the same warning about returning to sin:

But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries."
⚫ Hebrews 6:4-6 It IS possible to fall away, even after receiving the holy spirit! There would have been no point in writing the next passage if it were impossible to fall away:
"For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame."
⚫ Hebrews 12:14,15 We can "fail of the grace of God":
"Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;"
⚫ Revelation 3:5 and 22:19 Our names CAN be blotted out of the book of life:
"He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels."

The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers."
"Once saved, always saved," with "eternal security"? Apparently not.
Sins "all paid for, past, present and future"? Apparently not.
That servant was going to pay for his sins himself.
@The Bible Says Apologies for digging up an old post, but in reference to the conditions of losing faith that you pose in these parts of scripture (which I am hard-pressed to refute in of themselves, in most cases), what do you make of what Jesus tells to those seeking him in John 6;35-40. More specifically, what does it mean when Christ says he will by *no means* cast out those that are given to him by the Father?
I've heard arguments that He will not cast you out, but you can leave of your own volition by abandoning the faith -- yet I find it difficult to reconcile such thoughts when God not only promised us the gift of salvation through His Son for the *purpose* of good works (Eph. 2;8-10), in that he also promised to equip us with the ability to resist sin, and He who began a good work in you will carry it to completion (Phillipians 1:6).
With these verses it seems to me that both our justification *and* sanctification are anchored in the character of God and His Son. But, as you and I both know, there is only one Gospel and one truth. I don't believe there are contradictions in the Bible, but I *do* believe there are paradoxes -- matters that we, as man, can't come to terms with on our own. While I'm not certain as to the purpose of this, I can only say it draws me to more fully look to Him than myself.

That's right, all that *come to Him* - present tense - He will not cast out. What happens if we choose to no longer come to Him? If we deny Him, and choose to no longer abide in Him? Here's the answer:
⚫ "If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:" (2 Timothy 2:12)
⚫ "If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned" (Jesus, in John 15:6). That does NOT mean "still saved, anyway."

Yes, it's the Father's will - His desire and intention - that no one be lost. But men have been defying God's will since the beginning. It's the Father's *will* that no one should perish, but many will choose the wide, easy road that leads to destruction rather than the narrow way that leads to life.
The Lord's will - His desire or intention - is that all men come to repentance rather than perish:
⚫ "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." (2 Peter 3:9)
The Lord's will - His desire or intention - is that all should be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth:

It's the Father's will - His desire or intention - that those who believe on Jesus would be saved. True _believers,_ like Abraham, act on their faith and obey God (Hebrews 11:8; James 2:20-24). God "now commands all men everywhere to repent" (Acts 17:30). We are promised His mercy and grace if we'll obey:
⚫ "He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy." (Proverbs 28:13)
Outside of repentance we'll perish without mercy, without grace, without redemption from the death penalty earned for past sins. We'll pay for our sins ourselves. That's why Jesus warned:
⚫ "except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish" (Luke 13:5)
That's why Jesus told His disciples to preach *repentance and remission of sins,* not "faith alone" (Luke 24:45-47).

We must choose to follow the lead He provides through the holy spirit. He does not and will not *make* you follow the holy spirit, we must choose to led. Outside of repentance, we're not choosing to be led. Note the "if"s here in Romans:

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God." (Romans 8:13,14)
Jesus urges us to repent, to follow His lead. He does not *make* us anyone follow His lead. We have a responsibility: to follow:
⚫ "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent." (Jesus, in Revelation 3:19)
*1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:*
*1 John 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for our's only, but also for the sins of the whole world.*
Jesus advocates for believers: those who act on their faith and obey God, confessing and forsaking sin. Those believers are in justification, having had their past sins "blotted out" (Acts 3:19) and having been redeemed from the death penalty they had earned for past sin. They've begun a new life - "times of refreshing" - in "the presence of the Lord" . . . through the gift of the holy spirit, given "to them that obey Him" (Acts 5:32) and "repent" (Acts 2:38):
⚫ "Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord" (Acts 3:19, NKJV).
IF we'll come to Him in repentance - and while we remain in repentance, abiding in Him and following the holy spirit - we are not under condemnation. We are in justification. Jesus will be our advocate at the Father's throne.
⚫ "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." (Romans 8:1)
Someone once asked _"How can Jesus turn around and cast a saved person into hell when he is their defender? You are preaching a works salvation!"_
First of all that use use of "saved" is misleading and incorrect: we will not be saved - done deal - unless we endure to the end and actually receive the gift of eternal life, as promised, at Jesus' return. In this present mortal life we are in *justification* and have "the hope of salvation" as Paul wrote in 1 Thess 5:8,9. If we remain in justification we "shall be saved" as stated by Peter and Paul (Acts 15:11 and Romans 5:9). We are urged to "give diligence ot make our calling and election sure" - NOT to coast along presuming we're already "saved."
It is very clear from scripture that we CAN fall away from justification - no longer in repentance, no longer abiding in Him - and we have many warnings not to let that happen. John 15:6, Romans 11:19-22, Hebrews 4:1, Luke 12:45,46, 2 Peter 2:20-22 and Hebrews 10:26,27 are a few examples that I've already quoted.
No reasonable, sensible person would interpret being "cut off" the vine (Romans 11:22) and "cast forth as a branch," and "withered," and "cast into the fire" and "burned" to mean that your still 'saved, anyway.' That's just plain delusional, a testament to the power of seducing spirits.
⚫ "If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned." (Jesus, in John 15:6)
Some say I'm preaching works salvation. No. I'm saying salvation is by God's mercy and grace. Question is, who gets the mercy and grace? Some apparently say - and preach - that we receive mercy and grace by just "trusting" - "faith alone." I say that's gross error, a mischievous lie promoted by 16th century theologians. "Faith alone" is a sneaky, sly way of saying that neither repentance nor obedience are required.
Jesus told His disciples to preach repentance and remission of sins, not "faith alone":
⚫ "Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem." (Luke 24:45-47)
We do not *earn* God's mercy and grace. It is *promised* to those who obey and come to Him on His terms, in repentance:
⚫ "He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy." (Proverbs 28:13)
⚫ "Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him . . . " (Isaiah 55:7)
Jesus is "the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him" (Hebrews 5:9). Nothing there about "faith alone."

For the longest time I've always held to what I learned as a child -- but I learned only very recently in my life that it's through obedience that we are able to shed away our preconceptions about what we *want* the truth to be, and what is actually presented in the Word of God.
I cannot deny that there is vigilance to be had in keeping with repentance and trusting God to work that in me through the Holy Spirit. I'll ask God to give me more faith, and ask that you pray for me likewise, as selfish as that may be.
On another note, there is an issue that I find myself on the fence about, but not necessarily alarmed over -- the argument of free will vs. predestination. If we believe in Christ, as a gift that was freely given to us by God through His Son and one we are not deserving of -- it would naturally point us towards giving God all of the glory that He deserves. With that in mind, I find the details of how we exactly came to our faith mostly irrelevant. It's one of the points that makes me sad when I see Calvinists and those that promote free-will in salvation calling each other heretics.

Paul understood that even after preaching to others, he could possibly return to a life of sin and then be rejected . . . a "castaway":
⚫ "But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway." (1 Corinthians 9:27)
Common sense: Paul would never have said such a thing if he thought his salvation was guaranteed.
And it was Paul who warned us to "continue in His goodness" or else we'd be "cut off" . . . but people seem to have their eyes glazed over when they read this one:
⚫ "For if God spared not the natural branches [the Israelites], take heed lest he also spare not thee.
Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off." (Romans 11:21,22)
That's very similar to Jesus' warning to abide in Him, or . . .

Having the holy spirit is necessary. But having it is not a guarantee. We must choose to be *led* by the holy spirit . . . otherwise, the holy spirit is ineffective. Note the "ifs":

The whole Bible is for Christians but not all of it is ABOUT Christians.
Numerous times Paul told pe3kple to bw saved all you have to do is believe. Not once do I see a plainly clear scripture that says if we sin that we lose our salvation Born again? You are born again one time. You cant lose it one day then get it back, oh lose it Friday and back to saved Sunday. That is not biblical. Paul also had a big fight with sin he couldn't stop. Of course not, because Paul and the others did not teach we already have salvation. We have "the hope of salvation" as Paul wrote in 1 Thess 5:8,9. Peter said "we believe we shall be saved" (Acts 15:11).
And they did not teach that if we sin we lose salvation. The issue is not sinless perfection . . . . the issue is whether or not you are in repentance, having a heart and mind willing to confess and forsake sin. For *that* we are promised His mercy:
⚫ "He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy." (Proverbs 28:13)
Outside of repentance we will remain outside His mercy, and will perish.
Peter makes it clear: come to repentance, or else perish:
⚫ "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." (2 Peter 3:9)
Here's Jesus:
⚫ "Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?
I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." (Luke 13:4,5)

You will not be born again or born of the spirit until you are receive the immortal spiritual body that Paul write about in 1 Cor 15. We receive that at Jesus' return. Not until then will we match Jesus' description of born again or born of the spirit:
⚫ "That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit." (John 3:6-8)

In this mortal life we may enter justification with God, and have His spirit in us. We have many warnings not to fall away from justification. Here are a few:
⚫ "If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned." (Jesus, in John 15:6)
You must first *be* a branch before you can be "cast forth as a branch." And obviously we *can* be "cast forth" after becoming a branch. Jesus did not say "once a branch, always a branch." It's amazing to me that anyone could conclude you're still "saved" after being "cast off as a branch" and "withered" and "cast into the fire" and "burned." Simply amazing . . . but people will believe what they want to believe.
Jesus clearly warned what would happen to servants who returned to sin:
⚫ "But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;
The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers." (Jesus, in Luke 12:45,46)
"Once saved, always saved," with "eternal security"? Apparently not.
Sins "all paid for, past, present and future"? Apparently not. That servant was going to pay for his sins himself.
The apostle Paul had the holy spirit. Paul clearly refuted "once saved, always saved": he stated it was possible for him to revert to a life of sin and therefore be rejected . . . a "castaway":
⚫ "But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway." (1 Corinthians 9:27)
There's a message there for all who have been misled to believe that *having* the holy spirit is a guarantee of your salvation. We must remain in repentance, being *led* by the holy spirit (Romans 8:13,14) and "walking after the spirit" (Romans 8:1) . . . not just _having_ it and ignoring it.
The apostle Paul warned that Gentile believers - even after being "graffed" into the "vine," - could be "cut off" the vine, just as the "natural branches" (the Israelites) had been broken off:
⚫ "Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in.
Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
For if God spared not the natural branches, *take heed lest he also spare not thee.*
Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, *if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off."* (Romans 11:19-22)
If, after overcoming sin through knowing Jesus, a person then returns to a life of sin, "the latter end is worse with them than the beginning":
⚫ "For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire." (2 Peter 2:20-22)
Here is another warning "if" about returning to a life of sin:
⚫ "For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries." (Hebrews 10:26,27)
Here's another example of "if" with conditions:
⚫ "Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ." (2 Peter 1:10,11 )
Another "if" with conditions:
⚫ "Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;" (Hebrews 3:12-14)
Another "if" with conditions:
⚫ "And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:
If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;" (Colossians 1:21-23 )
Another "if":
we must choose to be led by the holy spirit:
⚫ "For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God." (Romans 8:13,14)
It IS possible to fall away, even after being made a "partaker" of the holy spirit! There would have been no point in writing the next passage if it were impossible to fall away:
⚫ "For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame." (Hebrews 6:4-6)
We can "fail of the grace of God":
⚫ "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled" (Hebrews 12:14,15)
Our names CAN be blotted out of the book of life:
⚫ "He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels."
"And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book." (Revelation 3:5 and 22:19)
⚫ "Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it." (Hebrews 4:1)
