There’s a waiting list to get into this community. I actually contacted them about 4 weeks ago and asked the owner to place my name on the wait list. I’m in Gainesville which is about 2 hours north of Orlando. I’m hoping a spot will open within a year. Wish me luck!

Nice couple, cute dog, and lovely homr and waterfront community! I think it is a really smart move to go tiny and be debt free and the younger you are the better. Ive just retired snd will be moving into my tiny home debt free. It would have been nice to go tiny when I was their age, it would have given me more options for retirement. Thanks for the video tour!

While I agree that it's less expensive at first glance, there still is the lot rent. I personally know a guy who bought 2 manufactured houses in a park and a while later the property was sold and he got notices to leave. I know that manufactured homes can only be relocated/moved a few times, after which you're not allowed to move it anymore. I guess RVs are different, however it's not inexpensive to move a tiny house, it costs thousands. I understand that it's the latest thing now, but I feel people should talk about the drawbacks too, full disclosure and all

Wish they had these communities in Australia so many more people could live simply and not be paying off someone else's nest egg by having to rent, there should be more communal living instead of suburbia...maybe not as much crime either as everyone would know if there was a stranger around and it would be safer for people living alone. cheers from Western Australia

@@jamesmorris8572I WISH my rent were only 14K a year! Orlando's housing market is awful! I had a new company buy my complex and decide to raise everyone's rent to "market value", even those of us who'd been there a decade or more. For me that was going to be a $500 per month increase and would have put me over 2K per month. I had to move as that was well out of my range, nevermind the principal of it. Many apartments in the area were/are way worse than that 2K.

There probably are alligators in that body of water, but as a Floridian, I can say that it’s rare for an alligator to get out onto dry land and harass people. That usually happens when humans feed the alligators, which in turn causes the alligators to think the humans are food.

    • @jamesmorris8572

@@rebeccaharrison2968 I disagree with you on that. There have been several well-publicized incidents in the past few years where alligators have snatched people who were walking near the edge of a lake, killing them. Watch the tour of this park, filmed on March 5th. It's owned by an individual.
The reason so many people say the same thing (you really don't need that much to live happy), is because your stuff can own you (as in, you feel you HAVE to have more and more space to hold all your stuff, so you go broke paying for all that space).
You don't necessarily have to go Tiny, just smaller and less expensive, so you have more disposable income.
