This something outside of the usual and still a dope watch. Hopefully you can do an episode on Dion Glover from GA Tech and Ivan Rabb who played for Cal for players
You should do a feature on Kris Dunn & his resurgence in the League as a defensive playmaker & much improved shooter under the guidance of Ty Lue & Jeff Van Gundy with the LA Clippers frfr once Kawhi Leonard returns the Clips are going to be extremely underrated especially defensively come playoff time
Yo hold up love the vids but have you did a video on Alex poythress he was a beast his first two years n I don’t even remember him goin n the draft 😂 I loved college ball back n the day n yo vids brings mad nostalgia first time commenting but love the content keep pushing bro one of the best basketball channels on RUclips
Frank Vogel has as many NBA Chips as Doc Rivers and Larry Brown. Win % before and after a coach is a bit better gauge…but even that can be skewed. JVG is a Hall of Fame coach, chip or not!
As a head coach, he never had the players needed to win a title. Knicks were good, but they weren't going to beat the Jordan-led Bulls. In 1999, it was a miracle that they made the finals, and were overmatched by the Spurs.
Best way to Rivers is a great development coach mistaken for one that can lead a championship squad. You can't call him a bad coach given the teams he elevated (2000 Magic, 2019 Clippers), but also can't seem to lead a team to the finals unless they are overwhelmingly stacked (And even then, it's iffy).
Lol, this reminded me of an old Method Man song: The Wu-Tang, 36 chamb, what you smokin? Got you in the game choking, like Van Gundy coachin. Your street team bunch of weaklings. Don't ever let me catch you reachin, respect when the grown man is speaking.
Because he only coached one side of the floor. I understand defense wins championships, but you still have to score the basketball, and Jeff Van Gundy was a terrible offensive coach.
The way he did Steve Francis is why. He can't coach is another reason. He gave away a 2003 Porsche (Francis) for a 1985, Cadillac (TMac). TMac was good and all but was on a downward decline when he got here. He didn't last no more than 5 yrs and it was over, and Jeff did that.
Stunted Growth Coaches Series! Trying something new, see how it goes. Enough likes and I'll continue the series. Enjoy
Great idea! Theres like six or seven coaches off top you could do on! Rick Alderman or Jerry Sloan next possibly?
Love the idea. Keeps the content fresh. Gotta do Doc next.
Bring it on bro. I enjoy your work immensely.
Dwane Casey is a good one
This is dope looking forward to this series
He got a chip w the Celtics as senior consultant this past season . Love the content
Dope!! Next you should do his brother Stan Van Gundy, then George Karl, Mike D’ Antoni, Rick Adelman, Alvin Gentry, Jerry Sloan to name a few
Rick Adelman...
This something outside of the usual and still a dope watch. Hopefully you can do an episode on Dion Glover from GA Tech and Ivan Rabb who played for Cal for players
We got Stunted Growth for coaches before GTA 6 (love the content btw!)
i love listening to Jeff commentate...him and mark jackson always have not so common insight..
I’m looking forward to this new series. You should do Mark Jackson next.
He did do Mark Jackson
@3:21 it was replicated by the #8 seed Miami Heat in 2022-2023
I thought I heard him say that wrong
Don Nelson. Dan A’toni. Those two would be a great breakdown to watch.
Can you do one for Avery Johnson’s NBA coaching career? I thought for sure he’d be on Doc rivers level and be a legendary coach
You definitely should do Doc Rivers next.
Shoutout Thibs, his parter in crime for like 11-12 years.
Jeff Van Gundy is a straight up G. 🏀
No he’s not 😂He’s a old hating bozo
Hey great topic! Van Gundy has always had mad respect in basketball
this will be an interesting series.....Stunted Growth Coaches... Already thinking of some names...Avery Johnson...Rick Adelman.... Paul Westphal.....
You should do a feature on Kris Dunn & his resurgence in the League as a defensive playmaker & much improved shooter under the guidance of Ty Lue & Jeff Van Gundy with the LA Clippers frfr once Kawhi Leonard returns the Clips are going to be extremely underrated especially defensively come playoff time
Not too many bigger victims of timing than Jeff, man.
Ok ok ok got coaches on here now
Frank Vogel has as many NBA Chips as Doc Rivers and Larry Brown.
Win % before and after a coach is a bit better gauge…but even that can be skewed.
JVG is a Hall of Fame coach, chip or not!
He had a great defense but terrible offense , that's what happened. One dimensional coach .
Did the heat not count as a 8th seed because of the play in?
Also i nominate Raef lafrentz
I was wondering da same thing???
If it weren't for Jeff Van Gundy . We would not have Tom Tiddubo in NYC.
Yall see Kobe shine that ngz bald dome??🤣🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭 broooo
He did eventually win one as a Celtics consultant and could win a second if Kawhi's knees become 5 years younger. Great vid, though 👍💯
Do one on Caron Butler that’ll be a good one
Stunted Growth: Jeff VanGundy........So that's why he wasn't talker? 😂😂😂
As a head coach, he never had the players needed to win a title. Knicks were good, but they weren't going to beat the Jordan-led Bulls. In 1999, it was a miracle that they made the finals, and were overmatched by the Spurs.
💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
2023 heat were a 8th seed
Doc Rivers
He has all that talent and still don't win
That's inflated growth lol
Best way to Rivers is a great development coach mistaken for one that can lead a championship squad.
You can't call him a bad coach given the teams he elevated (2000 Magic, 2019 Clippers), but also can't seem to lead a team to the finals unless they are overwhelmingly stacked (And even then, it's iffy).
George Karl!
He'd be a good one to profile
Doc Rivers next
Here are a few coaches.
Doc Rivers
Doug Collins
Stan Van Grundy
Larry Bird

Jeff Van Gundy=Good Defensive coach but terrible on offense
Stan Van Gundy=Good Offensive but ok on defense
If only they were able to work together on a team, they probably would of won championships
Eh cmon, they were never going to beat the spurs and his rockets teams were either just not talented enough or oft injured.
@phamawa
I remember watching that 1999 NBA Finals & I knew they weren't going to beat the Spurs
Great point... you do need to score
I forgot he was the commenter on nba live 18
What??? Why hasn't any coach that hasn't won, hasn't won? Lol
One reason... Michael Jordan lol
Yea i like this new series! Expose Doc Rivers overrated a** next!! lol
Doc is overrated... he has all that talent and still struggles as a coach. His leadership and organization are terrible.
