@CrazyxEnigma I knew we weren't gonna match up against Ben-no one could. Shaq was already slowing down. So you spread the floor a little more and use Karl's knowledge of the pick and roll, which was so successful with Stockton. Of course then you had Chauncey on the perimeter against an aging Payton, and Tayshaun to worry about with Karl. Damn...
@@jonnuanez7183 Yeah them with Rasheed, it was over. But the series could’ve gone a more competitive 6 games if they had those dudes playing. *Maybe* 7. But you know what I find funny. Who was it that even resulted in them winning a game? Luke Walton. Mr. Gets constantly shit on by everyone, and used as a reason for why the 05-07 Lakers sucked, and why the later Lakers who had him coach, sucked. Luke and Shaq won that, and Kobe sucked. Imagine if Luke was able to get shots off more and plays set up for him…. Perimeter shooting after all was what could actually dampen Detroit’s defense
for me relative to era wilt to the lakers is number 2 bare minimum arguably number 1 as with that trade they had in my opinion 3 of the top 5 best players in the nba with the best best player. Imagine if Jokic and shai teamed up with luka it would be completely unfair
Respectfully but absolutely disagree with no.2 because Malone was already 40yrs old and Payton 35, both past their primes. Proven by Malone ended up only playing half the season. Payton the year before joining LA also only played 28 games. If you count this trade then you also need to count Shaq still much younger than Malone at 33 and fresh out of the previous finals joining Miami which ended up winning the title! Lebron and Bosh joining DWade in Miami by far out ranks Malone & Payton joining LA, because ALL 3 of them are in their prime and top 10 players or even top 5 in the league! Even Lebron himself knew he had a monster team that he predicted 8 rings for them right?
Bill Russell to the Celtics is the most overpowered move of all time. Rodman to the Bulls is also up there. Ridiculous you say? Look at the results. They dwarf whatever is on this list. The Showtime Lakers have unmatched pedigree with Worthy on the team. Why not include them?
Walton had a long history of foot issues. NOBODY considered that an unfair trade WHEN IT HAPPENED, as he was considered likely to break AGAIN somewhere during the season.
Durant is obviously no.1. Miami should be 2, chamberlain 3. Harden to the nets should be there, not walton. His injury risk was VERY noteworthy in 85. But it's amazing how talent doesn't always win. Chemistry matters. I wonder if daryl morey has figured that out yet? I guess no.
Kevin Hoerant decision is the weakest decision by a superstar ever !! Up 3-1 to the warriors and couldn't close them down . Next year he joins them . Cupcake ASF
Hey Jonny, what if Magic Johnson and Larry Bird remained healthy and continued to play through the 90s? Would they have taken some rings off MJ? And how would their numbers affect their place in the all-time discussion? Might make for a great video
not necessarily take away some because the first ring of MJ was agaist Magic and to be fair, he doesn't even have Byron Scott and Kareem to work with. as for Larry, he nears his back-end (no puns intended) of his prime, and his supporting casts were getting older too. so yes, maybe not take some, but still, make the league more interesting as other younger teams at that point (Rockets, Magic, Blazers, Sonics, Jazz) start to rise
I was the same way. I'm a die hard Lakers fan but I didn't have a problem with Curry of GSW or KD until that happened, and I haven't respected KD or Steph since. Not that Steph isn't amazing like he is, or KD isn't a monster it was just a non-competitive way to go about it. The Cleveland GSW rival got destroyed because of that and we'll never truly know who is better... Lebron or Curry. They have similar ring totals, but it poses the question would they have been able to do that without KD on GS end. Would Lebron have 6. That just destroyed the rivalry.
I love the Celtics interview interview with David Stern and the trophy at 3:00 and within this very packed locker room full of cameras we find Larry in the back at the far right standing behind somebody else being barely visible. That sums up who he is perfectly.
Also, that Dwight Howard trade was shady. The 76ers cut ties with Andre Igoudala who was playing at an all star level to pick up Andrew Bynum and everyone in the world knew that Bynum's knees were busted and that's why they were willing to make a trade for Howard even with a bad back. The one season where Bynum's knees were still good and his progression as a player overlapped he was an all star. He was younger than Dwight Howard. Shaq said Bynum was the best center in the league. Something had to have been going on in Philly for them to make that trade.
Wilt to the Lakers too low imo, should be at least #2 because just like the 2016 Warriors the Lakers were coming off a finals loss and acquired arguably the best player in the league coming off 3 straight MVP seasons On an all time list I'm pretty sure the 69 Lakers would be the only team in history to have 3 arguable top 20 players
I think you should do the worst failed super teams on my number 3 list is 2004 New Jersey Nets best Jason Kidd and Vince Carter lit up the regular season and they had a good team you mite could put them number one well the other Nets With KD and Kyrie mite be one lol 😂
Trades shouldn't count. If a front office makes a great trade or takes advantage of the stupidity of another front office, I say good for them. It's when a bunch of superstars conspire to stack the deck (usually in their favourite vacation locale)...that's the shit I can't stand.
the bill walton move wasn't that crazy he was washed and could barely play he peaked 10 years before that and the injury's not near one of the top bigs of those years
Was it really unfair for Boston Celtics with that KG + Allen trade? They struggled in the playoffs, didn't they? And to be honest, I really didn't like the Nash + Howard trade when I saw that trade happening. Jonny forgot the trade that shook the NBA with the Pau Gasol trade.
Don’t hate the guy, but I’m also not a huge fan. He’s one of the greatest players of all time, but the guy is so fundamentally different form Kobe, so it’s been hard for us to embrace him in LA. Honestly, I see myself as a pretty neutral person on LeBron. On one hand, I can’t stand LeBron simps who act like everything he does is amazing, and he needs to be in every top 10 ever created. On the other hand, I can’t stand the haters who find EVERY OPPORTUNITY to spin everything he does into some kind of negative…. That’s childish to me. Like you can hate the guy all you want, but stop acting like he’s just trash at the game, because we all know that isn’t true.
@jonnyarnett thank you for replying! This is exactly what I figured you felt like based on your videos. You are arguably the best basketball content creator by the way! I personally like lebron but can completely understand why some people are not a fan of certain aspects about him. Im rare that my favorite players ever are mj, lebron, and kobe but I just appreciate greatness. You said it best when you said you can hate any of them as much as you want but it doesn’t make them trash and that in my opinion is the biggest problem with basketball fans these days.
what are your opinions on players/coaches being omitted in future anniversary teams. so far Bob Davies and Joe Fulks are the only two players who made an anniversary team (25th anniversary) who didn’t make subsequent ones. Bill Fitch and John Kundla are the only coaches who made the top 10 anniversary team but not the top 15 anniversary team. really Doc Rivers is better than John Kundla?
@ Malone was not an all star in the 2003 season. Tho he was still great but he was coming ontwards 40 bro. You don’t know if he’ll be the same year to year. Which bit them in the ass when the 40 year old to no one’s shock missed a lot of games. Malone played just 42 games GP was well removed from any AS just lies.
I think it's about adding to an already very good team. Not forming to become a great team. For instance, if Bulls added Hakeem to the team. Not Hakeem, MJ, Pippen, Rodman going to Orlando to form a superteam.
@ that team wasn’t very good shaq and Kobe were carrying that roster. Those La teams during the 3 peat were not some deep team, nor did they ever have some 3rd star or optionn Hell they never even had a guy like kukoc on those teams. Malone was was turning 40 he was a risk also, you don’t know how hell progress at this age. Which again bite them when the old man only played 42 games. And got hurt in the finals to. Gp wasn’t as old but he was still removed from any all defensive or all nba teams.
I think Demarcus Cousins to the Warriors(perceived to be healthy) was debatably even more "unfair" than KD, considering they had just come over back to back titles with KD
Its sad how Harden went through 2 eras of Superteams (Miami LBJ Superteam & KD GSW Superteam) and people wonder why he doesnt have championships He peaked at the worst time & place, simple
I respectfully think that it's not a sufficient excuse. Rockets in 2018 had a chance to get to the finals but colossally fumbled with their 3s in Game 7. Harden had the Nets and obviously they were talented and elite enough yet they fumbled due to circumstances that were more in their control rather than not.
@ CP3 missing Game 6 and 7, Rockets no longer have their best floor raiser on the court, facing against KD and Curry, no chance When it comes to the Nets, Kyrie missed Games 5 to 7, and Harden was forced to play through a Grade 2 hamstring injury so if you still think they had anything in control then idk what to tell you, Durant also went 0/6 in that G7 overtime
@@GXprogamer youre obviously micropicking things that were not in his control. I am saying that he had more that he couldve controlled other than those shortlisted stuff youve mentioned.

Mark Cuban, Dan Gilbert and other owners cried to David Stern about how unfair it was the Lakers were getting another dynasty so Stern listened to the crybabies and nixed it instead of keeping his word Dell Demps would have full autonomy.
I really don’t think Bill was unfair. It was a completely reasonable trade, and Bill was FAR from 1977 or 1978, where even at that point, he ALREADY had a history of injury and missing games. By 1985, he significantly waned from where he was during his peak, had an even riskier injury profile at that point, and could have reasonably been retired before that (which I believe he did retire after this point). And Boston was just amazing, they weren’t the absolute best and adding a KD. I think this was a strong trade, but not something unfair
David stern is a better commissioner than that bum Adam silver. He stopped super teams after LeBron did it and stood on business, but silver just allowed the two best players to be on the same team

The year after the Warriors got KD when they signed boogie cousins, I almost threw my TV out the window, but then boogie does what boogie does and his leg fell off
My favorite basketball tuber fr
Bill Walton wasn’t unfair because he was a good player at that time but not the star player form and Moses Malone was fair because Julius Erving deserve some help cause he always lose to the finals 3 times.
The only unfair here is Kevin Durant.
Lakers seem to always get the big trade
To be completely fair, Walton in 85 was considered beyond washed. Red Auerbach basically has to force doctors to lie about Bill still being able to play basketball when he had his physical
I still think that if Karl Malone's knee hadn't gotten injured, that series versus Detroit would have been more competitive.
@@jonnuanez7183 Slava Mvedevenko normally a third stringer was 6th in total minutes played in that Finals. We had no frontcourt besides him and Shaq.
Damn...
@@jonnuanez7183
Yeah them with Rasheed, it was over.
The first ever Big 3?
Nothing beats KD to the Warriors. But I agree it’s up there
That fade away over Anthony Mason with the ball fake on David Wesley (is it?) Is just beautiful to watch
It is and it is
Love your vids, give coaches some love..who are your top four and why ?
Thank you Jonny!
I was going to mention Chris Paul being traded to the Lakers, but for basketball reasons I won't.
Have a great morning!!😊😊
I liked both GS and KD until they teamed up - haven't liked either since.
Is Shaq to the heat here?
The thing that I notice (as expected), is that all but 2 of these acquisitions were veteran players and sometimes even post-injury.
Rodman to the bulls… unfair
I love the Celtics interview interview with David Stern and the trophy at 3:00 and within this very packed locker room full of cameras we find Larry in the back at the far right standing behind somebody else being barely visible. That sums up who he is perfectly.
2 and 3 need to be switched. malone and payton were in there teilight if there careers, and balco bosh and wade were in their prime, its no comparison
I would love to see a in-depth video about Baylor.
I thought Shaq to the Lakers was going to be on this list. I remember being shocked that a trade like that was happening.
I strongly disagree with this. Miami heat the unfair team put together. Golden state did after Miami heats Big Three
Stop bitching about KD joining the warriors. LBJ and Bosh at their PRIME joining prime DWade in Miami was the most unfair lol.
I'mma put lebron and bosh to miami at 2 over the lakers one
Also, that Dwight Howard trade was shady. The 76ers cut ties with Andre Igoudala who was playing at an all star level to pick up Andrew Bynum and everyone in the world knew that Bynum's knees were busted and that's why they were willing to make a trade for Howard even with a bad back. The one season where Bynum's knees were still good and his progression as a player overlapped he was an all star. He was younger than Dwight Howard. Shaq said Bynum was the best center in the league. Something had to have been going on in Philly for them to make that trade.
Wilt to the Lakers too low imo, should be at least #2 because just like the 2016 Warriors the Lakers were coming off a finals loss and acquired arguably the best player in the league coming off 3 straight MVP seasons
On an all time list I'm pretty sure the 69 Lakers would be the only team in history to have 3 arguable top 20 players
Them injuries were horrible in playoffs
Nah Miami over 03 Lakers team that Heat team had in their prime 3 franchise players 😂
I love KD but him saying the 2017 finals was even had me just lost
Peace to The 1983 76ers.
the bill walton move wasn't that crazy he was washed and could barely play he peaked 10 years before that and the injury's not near one of the top bigs of those years
Was it really unfair for Boston Celtics with that KG + Allen trade? They struggled in the playoffs, didn't they? And to be honest, I really didn't like the Nash + Howard trade when I saw that trade happening. Jonny forgot the trade that shook the NBA with the Pau Gasol trade.
Jonny can you tell us if you like lebron or not. This is a legit question.
I’d love to see Luka and Jokic team up.
It was such a joy to watch the pistons beat the shit out of that Lakers team
🏀
what are your opinions on players/coaches being omitted in future anniversary teams. so far Bob Davies and Joe Fulks are the only two players who made an anniversary team (25th anniversary) who didn’t make subsequent ones. Bill Fitch and John Kundla are the only coaches who made the top 10 anniversary team but not the top 15 anniversary team.
really Doc Rivers is better than John Kundla?
No way you put 40 year old malone and GP joining LA over lebron joining prime D Wade and Chris Bosh😂, this list is a joke
Those are all stars you just named dummy. Now add that with Kobe and Shaq 😂
@ Malone was not an all star in the 2003 season. Tho he was still great but he was coming ontwards 40 bro. You don’t know if he’ll be the same year to year. Which bit them in the ass when the 40 year old to no one’s shock missed a lot of games. Malone played just 42 games
GP was well removed from any AS just lies.
Those La teams during the 3 peat were not some deep team, nor did they ever have some 3rd star or optionn
Hell they never even had a guy like kukoc on those teams.
Malone was was turning 40 he was a risk also, you don’t know how hell progress at this age. Which again bite them when the old man only played 42 games. And got hurt in the finals to.
Gp wasn’t as old but he was still removed from any all defensive or all nba teams.
@@0vern9K I agree but they were good enough to win it all. They would have if not for the Spurs cos they would have faced the Nets
A good list although i don't agree with some of them
Before I even watch this KD to golden State is number 1
I think Demarcus Cousins to the Warriors(perceived to be healthy) was debatably even more "unfair" than KD, considering they had just come over back to back titles with KD
Signed for the minimum too
Its sad how Harden went through 2 eras of Superteams (Miami LBJ Superteam & KD GSW Superteam) and people wonder why he doesnt have championships
He peaked at the worst time & place, simple
I respectfully think that it's not a sufficient excuse. Rockets in 2018 had a chance to get to the finals but colossally fumbled with their 3s in Game 7. Harden had the Nets and obviously they were talented and elite enough yet they fumbled due to circumstances that were more in their control rather than not.
@ CP3 missing Game 6 and 7, Rockets no longer have their best floor raiser on the court, facing against KD and Curry, no chance
When it comes to the Nets, Kyrie missed Games 5 to 7, and Harden was forced to play through a Grade 2 hamstring injury so if you still think they had anything in control then idk what to tell you, Durant also went 0/6 in that G7 overtime
@@GXprogamer youre obviously micropicking things that were not in his control. I am saying that he had more that he couldve controlled other than those shortlisted stuff youve mentioned.
@@buenvidanadz1969 how do you want someone to defeat a great healthy team when THEIR OWN team has important players missing games due to injury?
Talk about shortlisted things...LOL you mean things that determine wins and losses?
And choked at the worst time and places
Every single player the lakers have ever acquired
-end
No cp3 to lakers? They literally blocked it cause owners complained that it was unfair
Yeah, but it never went through, so was it really an acquisition?
Basketball is becoming Soccer
Flopping, stacked teams....all we need like the 20th century yankees and Real Madrid...every year same champs
And only the CP3 trade was unfair.
Jokic to Boston
Sport is about winning wth the best team possible, the only things that need to be fair are the rules. The people that were upset with teams like GSW probably felt good about getting participation awards in school.
As I've said before no fan has ever complained about their team getting better.
3:13 This didn't even work lol
You meant "not against the rules," not "illegal.""
Dennis Rodman to the bulls??
What about demarcus cousins Joining the warriors literally the year after kd joined
Why did you put Luka with a nuggets jersey
Prophesying. lol
The Nuggets tried to trade for the #2 pick to draft Luka
Why are free agent singing included? Since when was a player ever supposed to say no he can't join that team because it would be unfair? Are you trying to make your job harder or get less pay? But I guess they should right lol.
CP3 to Kobes Lakers
Yooooo
If u look at the 80 it percurse what going on today 2010 upper management now on the court in the back player decide there own destiny if u look at the lakers from 79 85 that probably the most stat team besides russell celtics then the celtic 80 too 86 almost 87 if len bias wasnt tragic
The 70's Knicks there has been a lot of stacked teams. Every team that wins is stacked. Good luck finding a team that won without multiple hall of famers or multiple All stars.
@jasonnelson6624 yes correct but phil j book said and another referee during that era they deflated the ball and get the calls favor
@@warreno.bryant4406 dont need to deflate balls for that. The NBA and their superstars have a long history of gambling on their own games. FBI reported Wilt and Russell would bet on their games. Of course no telling who they put their money on. Id be curious to know who Wilt put his money on? Im guessing it wasn't his team.
@jasonnelson6624 ooh facts wilt own clubs in philly with big time husslers gangsta street dudes who could of played in the nba alot of them turn down contract from makin so much money in the ghetto and russell was great friends with dr king civil rights leaders wilt was going box ali who had muslims noi backin him@@@
But as we see, only half of these, so called superteams, were able to win championship. Luckily the real basketball is something more than NBA 2K... on playstation.
Its crasy how cp3 to the lakers was blocked but kd to the warriors wasnt. Really shows you the quality of leadership at the NBA
You don't realize Durant was a free agent right?
There is no way the nba could have blocked kd to golden state
The NBA owned the Hornets at the time that's how. If they didn't there wasn't anything they could've done. Mark Cuban, Dan Gilbert and other owners cried to David Stern about how unfair it was the Lakers were getting another dynasty so Stern listened to the crybabies and nixed it instead of keeping his word Dell Demps would have full autonomy.
❤🎉
KD is charmin soft!!!!!!
Lebron's the Decision was the weakest move by a superstar ever when he made it then KD took it to another level
Um Lebron made 2 super teams and the Celtics super team all under Sterns watch but somehow CP3 and Kobe was unfair?
What are you talking about? Stern only stopped one and that was solely because the NBA owned the Hornets and the other owners complained about how unfair it was. You want to argue Stern is better? You can do better than this one.
Lebron only made one super team and there is difference between his compared to the Celtics. He joined two top 5 players in the league, but the Celtics were past their primes. The Cavs were not super team. It was just bron and love. People overate kyrie like he was something different
I agree with number 1. The rest of this video is whack
This man really forgot Tobias Harris to the Detroit Pistons in 2024
Did anybody mention James Worthy, #1 draft pick by the Lakers in 1982, with Magic and Kareem and Jamaal Wilkes and Michael Cooper? Championship in 1980, then 1982 with Worthy, plus 85, 87, 88? I think that was KD level unfair, plus Warriors lost that first season with KD
The Warriors won the first two seasons with KD. And Worthy didn’t win his first ring with the Lakers until 1985.
Right. The unfair part was Lakers winning a championship in 82 and drafting Worthy 1st overall later that year
