Yeah, those were some Great ol' Fellers. I've been a fan of Jerry Clower since the late 80's and I still play him on my A.I. device about every other night for bedtime.
I remember listening to his tapes with dad and grandpa riding in tractors and combines growing up. Grandpa passed away a few years ago and every time I hear Jerry Clowers voice it takes me back. You don't have to be filthy mouthed to be funny. This man was a class act.
I grew up having to watch this show every Saturday. There were only 4 TV stations in Tampa back then. I hated country music but loved Barbie Benton. She was a teenage boys dream.
What a great entertainer! I got to see him in person many years ago. This story was on his third album, Clower Power. It was called Marcel Wins a Bet. It's one of the few original albums available on CD.
@@HogRebel Tell her the one about Marcel's Moving Co. & the one about Tater Rides the Moped. If you can't get her to laugh at either one of those, check her pulse.
In 1997, I was going to see Jerry's show for the first time. He was at the NC State Fair but something came up and I couldn't go. He died the following year. I was crushed.
Ever friday after noon. I go by my papa.s drink a glss ice tea. All through the the sevintys. Every saturday nite. At seven. Grand paw jone.s was his man. He loved that ban jo. God bliss guys. Have a great day
Common joke set up. I've heard it with Irish drinkers ... if you're really able to drink like you Irish say .... ten pints of ale .... man leaves pub comes back half hour later and drinks ten cause he practiced at pub down the street.
I miss all of those guys. Jerry, Stringbean, Grandpaw, they were one of a kind!

There literally is no one else like him. The greatest storyteller of them all.
Justin Wilson is another great storyteller. Very interesting man, chef, storyteller, writer of cookbooks and a career public employee; quite a man.
Oh those Hee Haw Honey's
The real blue collar comic
Im sorry, he is just like Rodney Carrington - Not even a bit funny. Kinda like a low rent Bob Burns.
@@yuridumas5204 You don't get it, probably because you're not Southern. Jerry Clower was a master of our culture.
Hands down, The BEST story teller!!
Good clean humor!!!
After all these years my heart still goes pitter patter at the sight of Barbie Benton. Oh my!

Anytime Marcel Ledbetter is around, everything’s gonna be downright awright. Usually funny, too.

i met Jerry in Oxford MS in 1996. Very nice and polite man. Funny as always.
Man I loved me some Hee Haw, great memories..
From a great era of 📺
Jerry always laughed at his own jokes.
I always laughed at 'em too.
Sounds like me! 🤣👍 Can hardly get my wife to laugh about anything.
😐🙄🤣

Jerry Clower the best all around story tellers if all time no one else comes close
Jerry Clower is easily one of the funniest comedians of all time.
Loved Hee Haw. Sure liked Jerry Clower.

Yep, I was planning a Nashville trip and news broke of his passing about a month before we were going...bummed I didn['t get to see him either.
Barbara Bention was sitting next to Grandpa Jones, she was at her most beautiful then.
Absolutely!!!
"YUMMMY"❤
She was called Barbie Benton

I believe that's what's called a tall tale, lol.

I'll bet Marcel was staying in the outhouse for a while after that
Barbie Benton. Nuff said.
How I miss his wonderful brand of clean genuine humor.
He once spoke at our school. My favorite story is when Marcel was fishing with dynamite.
The greatest
I saw him live in the late 80s and he told this joke except he said the watermelon was 100lbs.
it grew,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
THOSE WERE GOOD DAYS
Peckerwood show. Sweet
Good ol' Marcel Ledbetter.
Back in the fifties I ate a big ol' onion like an apple for a dollar, I love me some onions.
That would be hard to do
@@dalefromshelby8002 A dollar was a lot of money for a playground bet in those days.
I met him in Biloxi once.
Me too, when I was a little boy. I still live close to Biloxi.
I've got the 60 pounder.
Was that Barbi Benton in that clip?
Yes it was
That or grandpa jones
What about Ray Firgerson about the out house
Sorry, what did he say? I was looking at Barbie Benton.
Lol

Clower was great, but the leg touch was strange.
