He had a knack for all of country living. I grew up in north central Michigan and I listened to every second of Jerry Clower I could growing up. That man was/is a national treasure.
I recall fish fries out in the country. Many years ago. They’d last until late night with all the clean up afterwards. The old eight track tape player turned up loud so we could all hear Jerry Clower tell his tales. Oh how we’d laugh. Most of those listeners are gone now. I’m thankful to Mr Clower. Some of my fondest memories of those loved ones are hearing them laugh out loud.

I once read about a truck driver who said when he got home he would sit down with his little girl and have the best time laughing at Jerry’s jokes, never had to worry about nothing vulgar or cursing . Rest in peace Jerry, you were a true Southern gentleman.
My husband was a truck driver. We had Jerry's albums,then 8 track tapes,in our home. Our boys grew up with Jerry Clower stories. They and their friends are in their 50s and still quote those stories today. What a legacy that good man left us !
My uncle was from the Louisiana side of Vicksburg, Mississippi and had family friends in common with Jerry so they met many times and he looked like him and sounded like him and loved telling Jerry's jokes so when my uncle passed away three years ago it was really hard on me as he was like a second father to me so when I really miss him I watch Jerry and it's like my uncle is still here.
