I use to snick out to my Dad's truck at night when I was a kid. One night my Dad came looking for me. He found me laying on the seat laughing so hard. He listened for a minute. He smiled at me and said scoot on over. I laid with my head in his lap. After that he never came looking for me at that time of night. Sometimes he would come and join in the laughter. I miss that time. But I miss my Daddy more ♥️🕊️🙏

1997 in west tn had four tickets night came to go to the show boss walked up at 330pm you got to work over time on a Friday finally left the job Sunday morning missed his last show ever gave my tickets away. i was so disappointed.

I was born in 84 so I was pretty much a baby and really didn't discover Jerry Clower until I was in my late teens after his death. More of a good story teller to me than a comedian but he did have some funny bits. From what I've read about him he was a godly man, a veteran, and a proud patriotic American. I truly admired his life story! Sadly we see less and less of people like this in our society especially when it comes to comedy and influencers. Rest in eternal peace in God's kingdom Mr. Clower!

One of the best comedian's i have ever had a chance to meet. Awesome human being and great christian.
Loved old Jerry Clower, watched him on tv growing up and radio. Was honored to have meet him personally, company I worked for back in '83 at our Christmas party of about 64 employees with our wife's in a small Alabama town in a small motel.....he came over to each table and sat down to meet everybody. Very personable man.

I have listened to jerry since i was introduced to him by my 7th grade English teacher in a small high school in northern Pennsylvania.And i still listen to him at the age of 62.

My grandfather was a Southern Baptist minister and good friend of Jerry's. I grew up with all his stories, and remember having him at our house. My grandfather passed several years back @ 97yrs. This has brought back so many great memories. Thx for sharing.

I've loved Jerry Clower from childhood. My Grandpa would gather us 'round on Sunday and we would listen and laugh 'till we cried...

One of the best comedian ever! Me & my dad used to sit & listen to Jerry Clower together, we laughed so much my stomach hurt afterwards. Those were the good times. I remember hearing Jerry Clower being played on a community radio station back before the internet was invented. Loved his humor then and still do today. My favorite then and still today was the Phantom Train.
Saw Jerry Clower in a tobacco warehouse in Goldsboro, NC in the mid eighties. He had on a baby blue suit, and had everyone in the place rolling on the floor.
He came to my high school that same year. West Monroe High School in West Monroe, Louisiana. So funny!
I loved Jerry Clower! He was so funny - and he wasn't obscene or nasty. Good wholesome entertainment - just a good 'ol boy from the Deep South (Liberty, Mississippi to be exact!) 🤠
During the first Gulf War my uncle had recorded some Jerry Clower albums onto cassette tapes. I played them for everyone in my tent & we all laughed. I passed those tapes along to everyone in our group. We all needed a break to get our minds off of the war for even a little bit of time.

The video quality brings me back to home videos with my siblings in our backyard, family holiday party’s, family reunions, events with friends, traveling, vacations, and any time we could get footage. Our family and friends sometimes complained about the camcorder, but years later when people passed away…. They were grateful for capturing sweet moments , valuable times, and memories to treasure forever! ❤

Thx for this !! Soon be 62 and I remember hearing him on the radio the first time as a little boy with my family going to see my grandparents. I will guess that I was about 8 to 10 yr. old time frame. Then I started trying to find any new stories he had ! As a Christian and a Navy veteran I have even more appreciation for him now ! Thx again Midnight Rocker this was great !!

My maiden name is Eubanks, and my daddy was John Eubanks, and he cut pulpwood and lived in Green Creek, N.C. about 20 miles from this place of the show. Jerry Clower made my daddy famous in his own right 😂❤😊

When he talks about the Police, he is more right THEN about how negative people are thinking today. There are sometimes bad incidents with police.. but you get rid of those people. Police have a difficult job and what would it be like with NO POLICE? Think about that. WE NEED POLICE.. I ask everyone to send what money they can to their local police departments or at least send them a message of support. That is what I am doing. The times we were living are bad, but trust in God and trust the Police.

I had an acquaintance with Jerry for a couple of years in the 1980s. He was as nice a person as you'd guess. We were both from the deep south and we would tease each other about being the most southern.
I saw him in Chester county SC in 1991. Best show I ever saw. Good man !
This is still true about finding someone where I'm from in NC. During the holidays, I go back home, and one stop at the county store. I will know exactly everything.. Who sick, Who passed away, how the children doing in school, who in jail, I wouldn't change this for nothing...
I love it when he talks about getting recharged by watching those of us in the 82 Airborne make a jump. I’ve been listening to Jerry since about 1987 and everything he talks about is funny
I had dinner with him when he performed in Junction City, AR. He was a very nice man and interesting to visit with.

I love to hear him, my last name is Ledbetter. So growing up I thought he was talking about us bc I have a Great uncle name Marcell and Claud HAHAH. We also come from the Mtn of North Carolina and I grew up in Shelby.

I have an autographed book of Jerry's. You can tell that, at his school, they taught penmanship, and Jerry learned it well. Too bad they don't teach penmanship these days.

I first heard him maybe 16 years ago. Not so much a comedian but a great storyteller. One of my favorites is the Ledbetter Olympics.

For those wondering about the date, I just happen to have a digitized video of me riding around with my parents back then, and we went right by the front of Chase High School. There was a sign out there, visible on the video, that says "Jerry Clower - Friday, May 20, 1988, 7 PM - Chase Gym - FOP."

Dewayne Riley did some Jerry Clower in front of our '80 3rd grade Marietta, OK class for some exercise. Don't remember what we were supposed to be doing. He slaughtered the delivery but he sure was brave for even trying. Been a fan of Clower and Dewayne ever since.
Last time I saw him was 1995 or 96 at the Lee county Mississippi fairgrounds ! I love this man!

I saw him when i was a boy, probably in 1981 outside kc royals stadium, he was sitting on a curb, i said hi, he said hello, how are you young man? Thats my brush with greatness.
