So many varieties of potato salad to enjoy! I still make my mom's potato salad from my childhood. The surprise yummy one I enjoyed 20 years ago was made with a frozen box of peas and carrots at a buffet holiday family meal.
My mother in law taught me to cover eggs in water, bring to boil, remove from heat and cover for 10 minutes. Perfect hard boiled eggs every time! Tender whites, orange yolks with no green (which happens when they are over cooked). I also cover them with cold water, put lid back on and shake the pan to break the shells. They peel great even when fresh
You can boil this kind of thin skinned potato and the skin peels right off. Safe yourself having to peel them. Chop up green onions and set aside for you to sprinkle on your serving of potato salad. Mash some of the potatoes and mix with some fork tender. Small chop celery, pickle, green or red bell pepper, eggs. I add yellow mustard to mayo. Add s&p to taste for classic picnic yellow potato & egg salad perfect side dish for BBQ or Fried Chicken! Thank you! 🥰
Love potato salad just my sister and I,we love onions in everything yummy. Like the tip add vinegar to the egg water before you boil. Thank you for sharing Angelika have a blessed day stay safe and healthy .🙏❤🙏❤🙏
I just told my daughter that deviled egg potato salad is my favorite and wham you release a video. Minus the celery. I can't wait to try this recipe thank you
My Mom always added dill and used an egg slicer to arrange the hardboiled eggs across the top of the salad. I think she added yellow mustard too. YUM!!!
I've been using my Instantpot to make potato salad. Cut potatoes and put in a steamer basket. Put the eggs on top. Pressure cook for 4 - 5 minutes, then five minute natural release. Five minute ice bath for the eggs. The potatoes will steam dry in the basket. I'm going to try your recipe. Looks good!
I was just about to start peeling my potatoes for tonight's potato salad and here's your video! I love everything you add because I also like crunchy things in my potato salad. Oh yeah, you forgot to add the sugar to the ingredients list. Thanks for sharing
I adore room temperature potato salad, all recipes including eggs added. I buy that same brand 🥚 and they are excellent. Best I ever made was with fresh dill and buttermilk along with the other common ingredients like Mayo, celery, whole mustard, etc.
My mother in law likes it warm too. I wish I did. I’m so impatient for it. Haha but the warm salad hurts my stomach. I think it’s more mental than actually a physical thing. Haha
oh thats sounds good. when do you add the butter lmilk to the mayo? I use mayo. and sour cream but would love to ty butter m its as ive just started using it. more. thanks for the tip
I do the same thing sometimes. Read the label on something that sounds interesting and make it myself. Less preservatives. Healthier. I like your onion idea as well.
If you have an instant pot, set time for 5 minutes, let release for 3 then put eggs in ice water for 5 minutes. They cook perfectly and peel like a dream!
A great potato salad recipe 😋 in my opinion it's great any time doesn't have to be a barbecue or any type of gathering best wishes from Edcouch Texas Familia Aguila ♥
The ingredients you are using is, I think, the same ingredients that's been used for at least 100 yrs in the southern states. Potato Salad is delicious!!! Great video
This looks great im going to make today. I saw a tip from another yutuber Tammy from collard valley cooks that you add the eggs to boil with the potatoes for the last 10 min. they peel easy and only one pot. hope this tip helps if you ever need it. and I heard the vinegar helps keep the whites inside if the shell crackes during cooking but who knows right? Loyal fan from Detroit
Ohhhh my…….YUMMY!!!!!! I live where there is Wegmans grocery stores (sorta high quality store), and they make this. For a large container it’s like $13!!!!! That’s crazy when most of these ingredients are in everyone’s home. Thank you for breaking it down, now I’m off to cook!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Gotta tell ya a big secret for perfect hard-boiled eggs that are an absolute breeze to peel: cook them in an Instant Pot! It's super quick, easy and the EASIEST to peel! Love your channel 🙂👍
Instant pot is the only way I do my hard boiled eggs these days...using the 5-5-5 method (cook for five-natural release for five-ice bath for five). When I make potato salad, I cut the potatoes in about 1/2 to 3/4 inch chunks, put them in the IP, then the eggs on top and cook for five with natural release for five. Both the eggs and potatoes are perfectly done and at the same time.
I do my hard boiled eggs the same way you do. Easy peeling tip: once you get a good piece of shell off, run under cool water & slip a spoon between egg & shell. Most of shell comes off super easy & keeps the whites pretty for deviled eggs.
Wow.. I cannot wait to give your potato salad a try! Similar to mine but a little different and I look forward to trying yours it looks absolutely wonderful!
I always after cutting potatoes rinse until water is clear. I don't like all the added starch. I usually cook the potatoes first until done, let cool till it feels cold then I take skin off and then cut into pieces.
Hiyeeeee! Funny, I didn't even realize you made this video a couple days ago... and tonight I bought some deviled egg potato salad from the grocery. Im sure it's not as good as this. I just wanted to try it. Thanks for sharing! Mike
That looks delicious! No hate here, not arguing. I think it's interesting that you put your eggs in boiling water. Are your eggs fridge cold or room temp when you add them?
Been making mine similar to this for a few years now, but I add evaporated milk to make the dressing more creamy. It comes out so good! I hate celery, so I leave it out. I use dill relish and on occasion, green olives. I thought I would get push back from my family for leaving out the celery, but everybody loves the flavor. Only issue now is -- I'm in charge of making the potato salad every time we gather for a cookout! I love the flavor of onion, but hate eating raw onions. I'm going to use your trick of adding a large piece to give it flavor. 😋
I like how you peel your eggs perfectly and people try telling you how to do it correctly. LOL If you have a method that works for your stove- that’s the one you should do! It won’t always work the same for everyone due to the eggs, stove type and elevation.
I boil my eggs 🥚 with a cap full of Vinegar also but I boil them for 13-14 mins depending on the size if i have LG its 14 etc...But I love this recipe and 🥔 salad! Can you do a recipe on mac salad please? Thanks 😊
I love chunky Russet potato salads. Hate the mashed and smashed ones. I make several huge crowd-pleasers, including raw green and red onions, chopped sweet pickles (not pickle relish), eggs, a wide variety of custom seasonings and Best Foods mayonnaise.
Potato salad & deviled eggs are 2 of my favs so I had to * immediately* click on this one! I love this idea as it uses most of the same ingredients that I use for both dishes. Question: Why not use Miracle Whip instead of adding sugar for sweetness? Just curious...🤔
I believe I remember her saying on one of her potato salad videos that she thought using Miracle Whip made it a little bit too sweet. I use only non-sweet ingredient in my potato salad. I love that we have choices!
Hey mama keep diced onion or sliced green onions in your fridge. Nobody likes onions except myself. I have them ready on the side to sprinkle on my food. No reason to miss out and they are good for us.
i watched a video and i tried it, set the eggs in cold water, get them to a boil , boil for 3-5 minutes, and turn off keep them covered with a lid, let them set for 5 more minutes.. you have perfectly boiled potatoes.. and to get them, to peel easy, this is what ive learned in 50 years..LOL.. bang the bottom first to help break the membrane.. then the top part, then roll them on their side.. they should peel very easy!! ..
So many varieties of potato salad to enjoy! I still make my mom's potato salad from my childhood. The surprise yummy one I enjoyed 20 years ago was made with a frozen box of peas and carrots at a buffet holiday family meal.
I've not found a better channel that teaches Real food to please all! Thank you!

I use the same method bc we have fresh eggs. Always turn out great!
@@honeybeeshomestead she has taught me many things over the years.
I cook mine the same way! Perfectly boiled!
That’s how I cook mine as well!
Deviled egg potato salad is amazing. Nothing more to say. Amazing.
I boil my eggs in the potato! Once the potato comes to a boil add room temp eggs for 10 minutes, potatoes and eggs perfect every time!
I do that too. Easy and one less pan.
I was thinking to do that thanks for the times!!!

I like gold potatoes best for potatoe salad!!!

That looks amazing perfect for memorial day weekend 👌😊👍
My Mom always added dill and used an egg slicer to arrange the hardboiled eggs across the top of the salad. I think she added yellow mustard too. YUM!!!
Dill is a great substitute for salt. I use it in many cooking and garnishing technics.
I still use the old style peeler, my wife uses the like yours, which made for right handed. My is broke in for left handed.
Looks good. I also like crunchy bits of onion and other things in my potato salad
Simply Mama Cooks...I love changing up my Recipes, for potato salad, Thank You for this Delish Recipe 👍

Jen Joy My family and I love Potato Salad as quickly as I can place it on the table....warm. Room temp is good too. No cold Potato Salad for us.
My mother in law likes it warm too. I wish I did. I’m so impatient for it. Haha but the warm salad hurts my stomach. I think it’s more mental than actually a physical thing. Haha

@@beverlyharward9631 Right. The worst mouth feel in the world for me is biting into a cold potato. Minimum is room temp.
I Love potato salad...I haven't made one in some time.... Yummy
I do the same thing sometimes. Read the label on something that sounds interesting and make it myself. Less preservatives. Healthier. I like your onion idea as well.
What a good idea. It’s simple I wish I would’ve thought of that. That’s why it’s wonderful to have you here. Thank you

This looks yummy❤️ going to try. Thanks!

Looks delicious!! Love the idea of using the yokes with the dressing. Perfect for a wonderful summer dish. Thanks!
One of favs to make 👍 🥚 ❤
Looks tasty, thank you.
Just a hint to add even more flavor to your salad : instead of paprika on top just sprinkle a tad amount of taco seasoning on top!
Never had this kind of potato salad but it looks delicious going to definitely give it a go.

I wasn't hungry until I watched your video. Now I have to go to the store to buy potatoes and eggs. 😂

It needed some freshly cooked and crumbled bacon mixed in. Or a squirt of Ranch dressing, a.k.a. liquid bacon.
