The deep roar is the sound of the air going through those turbine fan blades at a very fast speed and that deep roar is echoed within the the cowl hide of the turbine, and that's why we hear that deep roar. The sound of the turbine is normally a high-pitched whine, but the deep roar is the air being sucked in and echoed off the fan blades and reflected in the cowl.

Every engine is loud when at takeoff or full thrust but at cruise thrust you wont here a single thing the engine usually quiets down after about a minute or so

Continental had a hub at Agana, GU, and a fleet 737-800s are based there, until the merger with United

@GtaCd321 haha thank you for explaining.I was just gonna mention about that. They only tell you to turn off the phones just to make sure the cellphone's signal doesn't interfere with the planes radio.

I would say United can use their A320 or B777-200s on this sector due to the high amount of passengers in the GUM-MNL with some passengers are from IAH or EWR

The Captain does NOT traditionally makes the takeoffs. Its done by the "Flying Pilot", which can be either the Cap or the FO depending on who´s leg is it...

Continental Micronesia? I know normal CO doesn't fly to the Philippines, but Guam-based CO Micronesia does! The CO Micronesia planes used to say ContinentalMicronesia on the fuselage, but now they just say Continental. And they used to have 747s! :)

Well as of right now, They are operating as United I think since the merger. They still have the Continental Micronesia name, but I think It might change soon. Most of the 737s here in Guam have the new United/Continental livery. Continental having 747s? I'm not sure about that. I've never seen a Continental 747 in my life. I could be wrong who knows.

cause the engine operates like a car engine but these engine are special and are only made for airplanes.
thats why it's really loud cause it generates thrust.

They are CFM-56s and I've flown a CFM-56-7B on AA flying LAX-EWR, but then a CFM-56-5B on a VX A320 flying JFK-LAX-JFK. as matter of fact the CFM-56-7B is much louder than the CFM-56-5B and A on the A320/A319 since the 7B is a smaller version of the CFM-56-5B/A which is used on the A320/A319 family
