- Cockpit View: MANILA - Thunderstorm Approach
( Landing at 7:15 )
Extremely cool pilot perspective of the flight.
Approach and landing at Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport (RPLL).
-See the flightdeck crew being vectored by ATC due to high traffic flow/peak hour and bad weather in the area.
-See the pilots busy with circumnavigating some bumpy thunderstorm cells during approach.
-See a TCAS-event on final: TCAS-Warning ("traffic traffic") during final approach, triggered by a landing rescue helicopter (unfortunately invisible on the video) on the extended centerline of the runway.
Fantastic HD wideview.
Contains some landscape and ATC description, to help understanding aircraft position and flightpath in relation to the metropole and the airport.
Part of a continued series about takeoff, approach and landing at different famous world airports and cities across the globe, just in the perspective of the captain.
I really hope you enjoy as much as I did while aloft.

Here is my channel description, if you haven't read it already:
This are my cockpit videos of international flights, shot while at work.
Aviation and the open sky have fascinated me all my life.
Some day my passion was strong enough and it turned into a profession.
I love the emotional side of flight - Men naturally don't fly. I think it's one of the big privileges of our generation to soar and fly by help of machines.
I believe, this enchanting land high in the sky can be a home for those who accept it's rules. And those are very simple.
If I managed to infect you a bit with this love, I just reached my goal.
Thanks for watching, I really hope you enjoyed. If you liked it, please share the video and hit the like-thumb !

Nothing beats the bright sunshine, azure skies, and fluffy cumulus clouds of the tropics. And, no one has put up a better in-flight cockpit view video on the web. Kudos and thanks!
CheT BelT I agree, the tropics do have a very impressive "mood" light at all daytimes. Thanks for this kind compliment-I am glad you enjoyed! Cheers!
I WANT TO BE A PILOT SOMEDAY , LIKE THIS IF YOU WANT TO.
It is not a joke.
Ian Oamil what do you mean ?
להיות טייס זה לא קל, מקווה שאתה מבין את זה
I always dreamed of being a pilot someday...
Imagine being paid to FLY- It gets a bit less incredible since all of us aspiring pilots think about training and etc so much, but it's amazing to know that that's what we're training *for* --such a dream job...
I love how you put the names of places and you put where they are 🙂
I keep watching this, although it was long time when they post this, missing my home😢,i cant wait for 4 weeks to hug my family. The sounds giving me so much excitement.Thank you capt.whoever you are,Godbless.
Awesome. Just discovered your RUclips channel. My father used to work for Philippine Airlines. He spent over 35 years at that company. Unfortunately didn't end up in that field. I love watching aviation videos, going to airshows and taking photographs of aircraft whenever I can. Liked and subscribed to your channel.
this pilot is gorgeous, i have watched many videos belong to him, landing is always smooth. well done

I don't know how I got to your video. It reminds me of that inspirational novella from many years ago, Jonathan Livingston Seagull. The sky, the clouds, the music, awe inspiring. Nice.
The flight that I'm most looking forward to in my future is on
Philippine Airlines Flight 102 from Los Angeles to Manila when it
Will be one way-Home to my second country the Philippines and
live out my life there.
Christopher O'Rourke I wish you all the best. This is a nice place to live with lovely people. Good luck to you and your plans :)
San Mateo was mentioned in the video. I live in there. I really love airplanes. Its kinda low in our area. And theres a mountain called timberland. Sometimes we go up there. I can see bunch of airplanes flying in low alttitude. I also can guess what airline it is ( sometimes aircraft ) Haha ;)
OranJee great!
raNgeYT you're right. i actualy saw our house in Batasan Hills as the plane that I'm with passed by the area.

Thank you ! I am glad you are happy. All the best!
wow that was smooth landing!
ang galing mga sir! para doble ingat kahit umabot muna ng cainta para lng maka approach ng maayos
Nice landing sir , that's how it is done so smooth couldn't tell exactly when wheels touched, I have had landings that rattled your teeth
Yes, it was a nice landing, but clearly, on this occasion, he didn't have anything to do with it- it was the captain who landed it.
That smooth landing tho 😍
great video! :)
frequent traveler to Philippines as my wife is Filipina :)
Thanks. Congrats - lovely people!
Aviation has become part of life for a large part of our people. It is safe and innovative. In the last two decades science did a great achievement.Saju George.
Where is the old background music???
EDIT: I really recall watching this video of yours quite a long time ago with other background music named "ATB - Future Memories" it was so good that it fits in your video mate... and it was cutted until this part 6:33. clearly was a good one there really. Maybe you just do it to avoid copyright thing perhaps?
God Bless you Pilots! :)
welcome to MNL Int'l Airport ! ;)

Liezl Esteria simp
I want to know if you have an own airplane I mean you only fly using one airplane? or every video you're using deferent airplane?
what aircraft is this?hope you enjoyed NAIA even though it's very prone to delays due to one runway available.. :)
yeah, sometimes you must be very patient while taxiing nowadays there :)
I don't think you're at Tayabas Bay nor it's Mindoro at @0:47 : looks like Los Banos, Laguna (waypoint BANOS) because of the Alligator/Tadlac Lake -like , uhm lake. It can be also seen that it's seems near to foot of a mountain, which is highly likely Mt. Makiling. Also, you mst be above Laguna de Bay (the lake within main luzon island)
Aside, I hail from Mindoro island and now live in LB, Laguna for nearly 13 years now - I am quite familiar with the topography of both from the sky. ;)
Wow the pilot is so nice...
This is really amazing. I love it, I want to be a pilot like you someday. BTW you're so handsome Mr.Pilot :)
nice video! miss my country right now, planning to go there this coming june 2016

matt robinson Hi! No, it was a Cat I ILS Approach. Cheers.
Absolutely stunning view from above with a handsome, very relax pilot then landed flawlessly. Salute to you sir, and thanks for viewing this. 💖👍👍

Cockpit View Who is the pilot?
Beautiful, i love that cloud-diving :)
sleepingeye thanks!
Very nice flared landing!
I like way you land the plane its so smooth.
thanks
hahahai saw my town Cainta. Totatally amazing video
You were so great
captain looks like Tom Hanks from this angle :) you were crossing a cold front i presume? :)) great video!
haha, thanks. It's just the normal weather there at that time. hot, humid, lots of CU's.
Why you change the background music?
i prefer they make video cockpit landing without background music because we want to see how the pilot do the landing and take off
It's really a credit to pilots
Was that you on the front view? Im in love with Pilots
What is this aircraft? And what other aircraft do you have a rating for?
Lovely vid!! Always wanted to see approach & landing vids. May I just ask, what was the approach speed? It looks like it was kinda fast.
Well done
very nice vid! hope it's never too late for me to reach my dream to become a pilot
thanks.

Any idea how to go from International Arrivals to Domestic Arrivals at Ninoy International Airport ?
***** Thank u, Is it possible to walk(inside the airport building) to domestic arrivals since I have plenty of time to wait for my frend arriving at domestic arrivals.
very nice video sir. IFR? the weather is not good.
Got the impression that the co-pilot was only along for the ride with the pilot wanting to do everything. Did they even speak to each other during the flight. Did not look like a friendly cockpit.
Thanks for your comment!
No worries, your impression is totally wrong. Communication and work on an airline flightdeck in reality generally follow strict CRM principles and task sharing for a good reason (different than from an action movie scene as you might have expected). You do not hear and see much of the headset communication between the pilots in this video, but this is intentionally. In fact, there were lots of mutual quick decisions due to severe weather and the high dense traffic situation around. Not easy to recognize in the video, but when you watch carefully you will notice we actually talked all the time. The full approach was much longer than shown, with a holding pattern etc. as well. On this specific flight the actual PF choosed to fly manually with the actual PM doing the settings for him, communicating with ATC and assisting with NAV and WX avoidance, according operational procedures of our airline. That means, even if not visible for you here: Really a lot of things happen quickly and at the same time. To ensure safety and efficiency, communication is in a "sterile cockpit mode" therefore, means there is no funny or unnessary chat anymore. This is vital for the safe outcome of the flight and a principle common to all airlines worldwide. I agree, this might look somewhat unfriendly for you. On a real flight, with real pilots (not actors), an observer from behind will probably always get this impression when the crew works very concentrated and getting involved with a more complicated approach phase. Especially if there is a higher workload than normal and you can't hear their communication. But that doesn't mean it's a one man show without fun. It's just a different concept than in other jobs. Anyway, no professional airline "co-pilot" would accept to fly just "only along for the ride" with "the pilot" wanting "to do everything". Here it's all about a reliable and good working team. But, as I said, no worries - I can assure there was a professional shallow command gradient with very good mood and perfect disciplined teamwork, even if it does not look so for a layperson.
Btw : The two pilots in the video are close friends since many years :)
Hope that answers your questions.
All the best - Cheers!
I thought a CRJ was a short range aircraft, regional. You seem to being flying all over the world. What is the range of the CRJ your flying ???
+Terri Medwoman I see China Southern E190-LRs regularly here.. Not CRJs.
I wanted to be a pilot✈️✈️✈️✈️ great video!!
thank you!
+Cockpit View can you make Boeing cockpit
What airline is that where it departing from ?

THe LCD screens were flickering is that normal?or is it just the recording?
Its just on the video, and its normal.
And when u land it means its on auto pilot? Can someone answer me?
