And it's row, me bully boys
A#
We're in a hurry, boys
Dm C
We got a long way to go
F
So what if we’re felons,
A#
To hell with capellans
F C F
And it's row, me bully boys, row
[Verse 2]
Well, The dropship was stolen but not for our thrills
Row, me bully boys, row
And that’s what you get when you don’t pay your bills
And it's row, me bully boys, row
[Chorus]
And it's row, me bully boys
We're in a hurry, boys
We got a long way to go
Please don’t mind your manners,
We bayonet clanners
And it's row, me bully boys, row
[Verse 3]
The Free State militia is half crazy lads
Row, me bully boys, row
MRBC has us rated as “Bad”
And it's row, me bully boys, row
[Chorus]
And it's row, me bully boys
We're in a hurry, boys
We got a long way to go
So don’t cry for mayday,
We fight for our payday
And it's row, me bully boys, row
[Verse 4]
Well farewell my fellows, its time we must go
Row, me bully boys, row
On to new adventures, our legend will grow
And it's row, me bully boys, row
[Outro]
And it's row, me bully boys
We're in a hurry, boys
We got a long way to go
Just take a commission
And we’ll do our mission
And it's row, me bully boys, row
And it's row, me bully boys
We're in a hurry, boys
We got a long way to go
And we’ll take all your treasure
And leave at our leisure
And it's row, me bully boys, row
Row, me bully boys, row
I would legit buy the Periphery Dixie vinyl. Get it pressed.
Are there print-on-demand services for vinyl records? If so, that seems optimal
Tex would do it!
Shut up and take my money!
Hell yeah
I would as well if I knew the original recordings were onto DATs or into FLAC files.
Tex & Goat really have a special talent for summing up the mentality and spirit of The Free State of Van Zandt in song and ballad. And for generations sing a longs have been proving to improve morale.
Glory to Van Zandt Free State Militia - Glory to the legion!
Fun fact, that actually was a shanty song before a certain Russel Crow interpretation of a famed British outlaw was filmed.
We're gettin outta Zandt with this one 🔥🔥🔥
I grew up on Schooner Fare and Makem & Clancy, so there are no words for how happy these tracks make me. ❤
now we can hope for some Stan Rogers covers
Sticking this in my “BPL Tunes Playlist.” Love the music you and the crew come up with!
Van Zandt Radio Freedom is a hell of a station.
I can almost hear the dropship thrusters light up in the background, ready to set off for another contract to probably not get screwed on!
Another fantastic track for our boys in uniform. Or whatever they managed to cobble together that approximates one. Keep it up, Goat!
I wasn't even gonna watch twycross again today but if you insist
Goat bringing those classic periphery space shanties.
I’ve been waiting for this song to drop! I love it!
It's always a treat for Goat to upload more BattleTech songs!
Also, I'm wondering, there's a few of the older ones that seemingly aren't uploaded to RUclips, and the YT playlist is out of date. What's up with that?
Either way, brilliant song regardless!
This is damn near perfection. Was perfection in Twycross video. Thank you lyrics I
Goat posts and I hit like, simple as
Van Zandt Free State Militia album on iTunes when?
wonderful!
Great work, mister Goat
Good work as always goat
Is this from something or is it a legit historical song that I missed? This just appeared in my feed courtesy of the algorithm and I decided to listen out of curiosity.
these are created for something called tex talks battletech and are essentially shanties sung by a fictional planet's militia I would recommend they are entertaining
It's a parody of Row my Bully Boys.
You guys rock!
ROW ME BULLY BOYS ROW!~
good job
Hell yes.
Hail Vab Zandt!
another banger
Do you have a Spotify list?
@@fatboy7609 no. spotify would make me pay them, also youtube allows you to yoink my mp3s so you can have a copy
I'm so lost, no idea where this is from. Quick search says maybe battletech, but I know nothing about that franchise. any one can confirm for me? Song still slaps anyway!
Yes, it's a parody of the normal shanty's lyrics to fit the BattleTech universe.
Specifically, this was written for Tex Talks BattleTech's episode "Turning Point at Twycross"
If you're interested in learning more about the setting, search "BattleTech 101 black pants legion" and you'll find a video by Tex that introduces the setting very well.
Song is an old Sea Shanty from the old days of sailing. But it's been altered lyrically to fit the former fan-faction-turned-real-Battletech-faction known as the Van Zandt Militia. The meme is that Battletech has a planet in the Periphery (space outback) called Van Zandt (after the Van Zandt in Texas, which rebelled against the Confederacy during the American Civil War). The in-setting explanation is that Van Zandt, being so unruly that it cannot be governed, has aerospace mines laid by ComStar (Space!AT&T) at the SLComNet HPG zenith and nadir jump points, which makes the planet accessible only by Pirate Points (very dangerous HPG coordinates that can lead to horrible accidents if badly navigated).
@@nialltealeaf275 Thank you very much! I knew the shanty part, the rest is new! Now I want to get into battletech...
@@bobbybliss2372 The A Game of Armored Combat box set is a good start. It includes the rules, record sheets for the mechs, and even mech cards for Alpha Strike (a different BattleTech table-top game that streamlines much of movement and combat that takes away from the detail of the base game).
