    I love Gigabyte, I will always go with their motherboards and their GPUs, they tend to be on the more expensive side of hardware options here but I find it's well worth it, every component I've ever had by them has been super durable with zero issues. Highly recommend that anyone reading this, go with Gigabyte over the other options like Asus.
    Also, their new lineup of mid tier budget oriented gaming laptops look excellent. ryzen 5 series + rtx 3060 for under a grand!

      Z790 Carbon was producing errors for me with stock XMP 7200cl34 - the Gigabyte had no problems. Also, the new "low latency" and "high bandwidth" options are insane - significant increases in performance and latency without changing the frequency or any timings, while being totally stable in Karhu and Y-Cruncher. The only problem is the coil whine, and I have to disable c-states in order for it to be manageable... so no single core boosts, which are mostly useless in real-world situations anyway, but I shouldn't have to be dealing with this for a $500 board.

    My Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Master died after two months in operation. Will not post. Contacted Gigabyte for support... so far crickets.
    The first machine I assembled was a 486 back in the day. I can't remember how many boards I have turned up over the years. Cannot remember where even one of those boards ever failed. The only reason I ever took a board out of service was when I was upgrading. They never failed.

    Not sure if populating all M.2 slots (the PCIe 4.0 ones at least) will actually disable one of the S-ATA ports on this board (as mentioned at 2:23). As someone who owns this board and actually plans to populate all S-ATA and all PCI-E 4.0 M.2 slots, this would really be a kick in the teeth as this board already has less S-ATA ports (just 4 ports) than most Z790 boards. The manual does not mention anything about S-ATA ports being disabled with any M.2 configuration.

I love MSI but they didn't offer as much as this Master did so I gladly bought myself one as a Christmas present 🎁. I AM VERY HAPPY. It has everything fully updated and current more than any other 500 dollar board. It's worth it. And yes everything's price is getting out of hand not just the boards but nothing we can do the cheaper boards are in fact cheap with stripped down features. I actually bought a Z790 Carbon as a replacement, but it couldn't get my 7200cl34 RAM entirely stable, and the "low latency" and "high bandwidth" options on the Master are pretty incredible with significant increases in performance and latency without changing any timings. So I decided to keep the Master and deal with the whine, because otherwise I wouldn't be getting the performance I wanted. I also moved my computer into a different position - it's not perfect, but that along with the above settings certainly helped to where it doesn't really bother me anymore.

    My fav motherboard ruined by how much audio jacks available this series. Yeah you can talk about fibre audio. but thats another whole cost you got to fork out. when its good surround and cheaper to run front speakers, rear speakers, sub and mid all on three ports. plus headphone and mic on two more. so thats 5 needed, then you can have another port for either a line in like an instrument, or it usually allows you to add another set of speakers, to make 7.1. Yeah you will likely lack spatiaal dolby digital down the 7.1, but when you run through Kodi or a supporting app you can get true surround sound movies, also games are true. Then if you really want the rest of your apps and music to run properly down all 7.1 speakers, just turn on your stereo mix on your headphones as default, turn dolby on, then listen to stereo mix down your speakers.
    Looks like the majority of motherboards for the 14th gen processors have cheaped out here, thanks for your review but defenately gonna give this series a miss

    Can you comment on the rumour that the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D, coming in January 2023, will be a staggering 30% Faster than the Intel Core i9-13900K, courtesy of it's ~200MB 3D Cache? If it's true, AMD is about to SMASH all the competition with a HUGE lead on the best gaming CPU in the world, won't it?

    You shouldn't be just putting a 'pea-sized' amount of thermal compound on your CPU's. It has been proven in many tests that the flat-spread method yields better thermal results. Usually 4-5c cooler. Should be using TGrizzly Kryonaut paste (when not just test benching, but on the real build), and should also be putting on a Thermalright contact frame and reduce temps another 8c

    • @casheighty8
      @casheighty8 Год назад +1

      That contact frame makes zero difference with 12 and 13 gen

    • @picklesandufos7860
      @picklesandufos7860 Год назад +1

      @@casheighty8 Wrong, go read the Gamers Nexus review of the ThermalRight contact frame. You really should make sure you have your facts straight before you run around professing a statement like that. Why would a company continue to make a product that makes no difference? That literally makes no sense. Specifically the ThermalRight frame is easier to install than the ThermalGrizzly one and makes a 7-10c difference under load. Furthermore, the user comments in that review also state their anecdotal experience of how much it lowered their temps.
      I mean, the internet is full of reviews of contact frames and all of them show a difference. Lol
