I just picked up a Z790 PG sonic board. Im building my first gaming rig in honor of my first game console and games, A Sega Genesis Model 2 and Sonic 1, 2 and 3.
I even bought a AIO pump with a led screen so I can play a gif animation of sonic running. Im even planning on painting my MSI ATX case in white/blue with sonic on the back case.

is there a z790 board that can support pci-e5.0 x 16 (for video card) AND pci-e 5.0 m.2 ssd at the same time? or is it one or the other , from the $400-500 range boards I have not found one that can do both at the same time …. usually if you do m.2 pci-e 5.0 than your pci-e 5.0
for the video card gets reduced to x8

True. The entire AsRock lineup has the worst onboard, some of the other brands use the same one; but not on every single board.

I know the z790 has more chipset pcie lanes, faster DDR5 speeds than the z690 DDR5 speeds and support for SSD gen 5 BUT for gamers the only in game usefulness on the z790 is higher DDR5 speeds vs the z690 DDR5 speeds. That said the DDR5 speed increase will not make a MAJOR gaming experience over the z690 in my opinion. If you have the Asus z690 Hero like me you can get DDR5 6600 and of course the 13900k plus a new RTX 4090 so no real reason to upgrade I think this time around in my opinion.

DDR5 6000 and up is great for either z690 or z790.
