- Bleach is not a big three anime or discussions about a new big 3 are consistently propping up on twitter. In this video I want to explain what the big three are, why there will never be another big three like Naruto, One Piece and BLEACH. Also explaining why BLEACH is in the big 3 and the historical meaning behind this term. In the west many of us grew up with Dragon Ball Z and Pokemon, and we found out about anime through them. It wasn’t until the Big Three came on the scene that we truly started to embrace anime as a medium and started to see that there was more to it than just Shonen titles. In this video we will explain the worldwide impact of the Big Three, and solidify why there will never be a new big three.

Welp Naruto is suffering PTSD moment😂 it must be hard to handle 2 sons🤔😂
People who say it’s not are really just haters. Even though it’s not part of the most recent big three (Naruto dbz one piece) it was still apart of the original. And it only got dethroned by Dbz for being canceled. Honestly you can’t even say it’s bad
@@damaniherrington4170 i heard that the anime will end "Completely" unlike the rushed manga.
Boruto ain't even 1/5th as popular today and Naruto used to be
It´s a bit frustrating seeing people saying that Bleach (or Naruto or One Piece for that matter ) can´t be one of the big three becuause they think it´s not good enough. It´s not a matter of opinion about quality. It´s not a matter of opinion at all. It´s all about culutral impact and sales at the time of the early 2000´s.
Yep.
popularity =/= quality is the by far stupidest thing you will ever hear people say. If everyone thought it was bad, you probably would never hear about it again.
@@501clonetrooper no popularity still dosen't equal quality as good quality is subjective to person to person also series can lose popularity and can as well become popular because of how bad its regarded so honestly you might wanna change that dumb mindset of yours
Those people are young generations that alwaysss thinking their feelings matter the most, same goes to cancelled cultured, thinking the world evolved around them.I love new generations manga/anime like jjk, aot, demon slayer and so on.But big three exist because they were always top of the games every month, every year when we also have so many popular manga/anime like death note, gintama, prince of tennis, reborn and so on.To craft such story that maintaining the top spot is super genius and crazy.Plus every exciting buying shonen jump because of big3...before we didnt have fast internet to access website like today so many of us buying shonen jump or tankabon of the manga. And excited to tell our friemds what new chapter are all abouts. Those golden time.Nowadays we can watch and read so many manga/anime to the point we stupidly judging of what we "feels".Because of big 3 there so many people into the anime when before its like a taboo to openly talked about it caused people will judging you and thinking you are some of 11 years old stuck watching cartoons. After 20 years people staarted appreciating and we see the crazy wave like jjk,aot and demon slayer.
Remember its centered and from japan,if itss from america, its will be an instant hit same goes to the artist or rappers.Once people accepting its will be worldwide phenomena. While if its origin from the east, south east, middle east its take forever to be a globaal phenomena. Thanks to korea a.k.a kpop and japan for open those people from the west eyes.
@King Zorro fr bleach is very under appreciated, and theres not alot of youtubers on bleach either so when u wan watch a what if or sum shii u cant bc there isnt one jus gotta talk abt shii
I think it's fair to say that Bleach gets the most hate of the three is because the other two were more easily marketed towards kids. One Piece and Naruto were slightly more appropriate for kids to watch, while most people would get into Bleach when they were older. So the fan base was introduced at a time when they start to think more critically and the series wasn't exactly a childhood memory.
Bleach is far more appropriate 4 kids one piece is full of sexual shit and Naruto has pervy sage and kakashi with Naruto sexy jutsu
True
Bleach one piece and Naruto were a phenomena, a massive achievement for all three of them, to degrade any one of them by Simply taking one out and replacing it is a massivly ignorent and stupid take twords the author and their creation, as you said, most times it blind hate and bate, but the saddest part is, some actually believe in what they say.
@Dante Toshiro64 none of these modern anime are on bleaches level. If mha got canceled for 10+ years it would be a dead anime guaranteed meanwhile bleach still has tons of supporters
I agree, a lot of it is just hate but the big three CAN be criticized.
Comparing AoT to Bleach is frankly stupid. They're completely different stories and if people are gonna mention the endings of both series, I've to ask, what's less awful, an abrupt ending due to external circumstances, or a purposefully polarizing ending with an adversarial discourse?
@@Ozy3500 oof
Besides Attack On Titan, is still to new to be considered a big three plus even if it was it’d be part of the new trio, but it’s before JuJustu Kaisen, and My Hero Academia.
@@joshshrum2764 Naw AOT is going on what 10yrs now? It definitely can be considered a big 3 for this time, no current series/manga can really compare to it. The manga is already over and despite its iffy ending AOT set the bar high with it’s writing…
Regardless of Aot's quality, the simple reason it can't ever be considered in the Big 3 is cuz it wasn't published in Shonen Jump. The Big 3 are all Shonen Jump series--people think it's about the story, length, etc, when really, it's about the publication. XD
The issue with AOT is that due to how the anime was aired, the years between 2014 and 2016, AOT just didn't have the same buzz whereas the big 3 had the it always due to their constant nature. This is the same issue Demon Slayer is largely facing now since it has huge gaps where there is no material, and that WILL impact buzz no matter what people think.
I dont normally call things cringe, but anime twitter is the height of cringe. Rampant illiteracy, piss poor understanding of the industry while pretending they do, inability to take solid criticism, and gatekeeping in some instances. Naruto, One Piece, and Bleach are THE Big 3. Period.
I agree 100% and that's why to this day I'm proud to say I've never made a Twitter account and never will...and only use Facebook so I can save my mobile game accounts with RUclips being the only social media I have an account for to comment besides some manga/anime sites to comment on.

I grew up with these series, each one as unique, complex and entertaining as the others. I can't even describe how popular and successful they were when I grew up with them. They've been around for a long time and to this day, they still have a massive impact on the international presence and popularity of anime and manga.
Isn’t it funny how even in are young lives one piece is still going.
@@joshshrum2764And it will continue for a long time, an example of this is how One Piece surpassed the sales of BOTH Spider-Man and Batman and is only behind the sales of Superman. And not only that, Netflix also realized how popular One Piece was after the live-action, so much so that they added almost every episode of the anime now, Considering the latest official numbers from 2024, One Piece is close to having twice the total sales of Spider-Man, and now One Piece is competing with the sales of Superman and Harry Potter
It really is sad that most people that think that Bleach is trash have never watched it or given it a chance past ep 1 even though Bleach is the inspiration of most of the new gen anime.
Yea like jujutsu kaisen and black clover, they are inspired by bleach
Yeah they don't understand that just like he said in the video all 3 of the big 3 authors said dbz either got them to want to do manga or inspired them directly, and the big 3 is the same thing to this new era of authors.

Another point to add to the big 3, when Naruto ended, One Piece paid tribute to it in one of their chapters, thanking it for its run. That was a very touching moment at the time
Plus Oda, knows the creator of Naruto, on a mutual friend level so it’s even more heartwarming.

Same
You know at first I was wondering how Dragonball wasn't one of the big 3, but after listening to the video, I have to agree with you. I feel Dragonball is like the grandfather of the big 3, it helped usher them into popularity
Yeah like he said SJ needed the 3 of them to financially fill there father's shoes before growing up, and becoming successful in there own right...with each one getting close to or surpassing there father's financial success.
And if you count dragon ball og it’s even older than the old schools.
It's why you see those pictures of team7 but its goku as the sensei and luffy, naruto, and ichigo as the students
It was a time when DB kept stopping at the Raccom fight on toonami for like 5 yrs straight in the late 90's early 00's. It's too old to be in the big 3, by the time we got the full anime the manga & anime had ended yrs before
I still don't get why the idea of different generational Big 3 Series is such a blasphemous concept & I've seen most of the Big 3 being part of Naruto mania from when it started in 2005. Why is suggesting Dragon Ball, Saint Seiya, & a 3rd heavily influential 80s/90s Series an older Big 3 of lesser fame which inspired the True Big 3 or seeking the next Big 3 Series a problem? I disagree with the uploader as my 2000s Experiences with Anime were different. I never really saw the AMVs instead watching series on actual television via Toonami & a few other sources. I was cool with the English Dubs & really Pokemon had a role transcending the Big 3 if you think about it.
Finally, someone who isn’t a Bleach fan who likes Naruto but won’t give One Piece a chance or a Naruto fan who thinks Bleach is shit or a One Piece elitist. Just a guy who likes all 3. It’s so refreshing.
I know, right?

I haven't watched much of the video, but I wanted to give my stance on why Bleach, Naruto, and One Piece will never be replaced as the Big Three. This isn't to say I don't enjoy modern shounen, I absolutely do. I've been watching My Hero Academia ever since it released in 2016, Black Clover is a shounen I greatly appreciate for being true to classic shounen, and Jujutsu Kaisen was one of my favorite series I watched last year. However, the difference between modern shounen and the Big Three comes down to the time in which they arrived. Bleach, Naruto, and One Piece were already very popular in Japan, but in the west both manga and anime were just starting to get their footing. Sure, shows like Dragon Ball, Eva, and Cowboy Bebop were pretty poplar over here, but there wasn't that craving for now programs like you see nowadays. This was the time period the Big Three arrived in the west and it took hold hard. I still remember back in the early to mid 2000s during my late elementary and all throughout middle school, I saw a rise in many students bring their manga to school to share and read. And this was how I was introduced to what manga was. In fact, the first manga I ever read was Vol. 1 of Naruto that my friend let me borrow for the weekend. After that I went out and bought my own copies of Naruto, Yugioh, and Shamen King. My biggest point being that the Big Three arrived at the perfect time, grabbing the attention of the western audience and starting the manga boom. At least, that's how I see it.
Your favourite being jjk brings me to a point I have about the big 3 too
To those that don't know
You can't replace bleach with jjk simply because bleach is most likely the inspiration for certain aspects of jjk that make it what it is
Most obvious correlation is Curses and hollows, mindless monsters that just look like monsters
A correlation you might not have noticed is between white and sukuna, both are very strong if not the strongest of their retrospective kind of monsters, who reside within the main protagonist and eventually form an alliance after having themselves take over and causing lots of damage to their surroundings
@@TakiyaTalon Thing is, I never really connected the two until an earlier video when he discussed the first arc of JJK. Until then they seemed completely different.
Well said
O
@@TakiyaTalon Exactly people don't realize that their favorite series creator was a fan of the real big 3 & basically as time goes on, future creators will just "use inspiration" from their favorite moments & ideas from those series & put their own little twists to it.
The era of the big three was phenomenal and while I watched anime before then, probably led to me exploring more manga and anime ever since. I stopped watched Naruto and One Piece fairly early on, but Bleach and that whole period of time will always have a special place in my heart.
There's no "new big three" and likely will never be.
Naruto, One Piece and Bleach are always going to be The Big Three of Shonen Jump, and they're a product of the specific time when these three series were serialized. Doesn't matter if haters disagree or not, it is what it is.
I mean for those who didn’t grow up on the 3 but a different is understandable. You have to realize they don’t relate to us in that way. So they’re allowed to have their own version of a big 3
@@joeycognition8824 the thing is, those 3 kinda made anime popular in the west in the early 00s alongside Dragon Ball Z, when anime was somewhat unknown in the Americas, we didn't have Crunchyroll or Funimation back then, they had impact in the industry.
Anime is already huge now, so what is the point on Demon Slayer or Jujutsu Kaisen in the industry? Plus, today's shonen manga are much shorter than Naruto or Bleach (both had around 70+ volumes), while Demon Slayer concluded with 23 volumes and I highly doubt Jujutsu Kaisen will have past 30. One Piece is still ongoing with 100+ volumes.
It's hard to compare older generation shonen with today's series.
AOT should replace Bleach?! Bro wtf
*I literally can’t*
It should
@Realist Guy It shouldn't and it can't. AOT's manga ended at 139 Chapters and the anime is ending this year with *maybe* a couple of recap movies on the way. Bleach's manga ended at 686 Chapters plus a new chapter last year plus multiple Light Novels AND the anime is coming back this year. Pretty sure Bleach outranks AOT by FAR. And this is coming from someone who watched AOT before he even touched Bleach.

From my experiences, people completely disregarded Bleach from the BIG 3. It always felt underrated and overshadowed by others in the anime community. I'm glad there are still Bleach fans out here that appreciate its legacy because we are a minority in this day & age.
I get tired of these glue eaters trying to downplay why the Big 3 are what they are and how they got there.
A lot of them probably weren’t even around when the big three blew up in popularity.
I feel you on that
Man this is never going to end! 💀 From a (HISTORY) Point of view (BLEACH) is part of the big 3! It’s freaking history… these new generation anime fans feel like it’s a top three anime debate. Like top three anime in the world… and it’s not. Bleach is from a generation that opened our eyes to anime with one of the most highest manga sales in history! Naruto,Bleach,One Piece were the most popular in the early 2000s that skyrocket at everything for us. (The big 3)
does not mean the big three (best animes/manga ever) it means from a generation point of view they were considered the top of everything. AND THAT WAS IT! You can’t replace history man lol.
I still don’t understand why people try to put Dragonball in the big 3?!! LIKE WTF? Dragon Ball was from a completely different generation. 🤨😭
Yeah just like how he pointed out dbz was like the father/grandfather that inspired the big 3 authors and all 3 were needed to fill the void that dbz left. So I believe it's the same for these new authors where many will admit that the one of the big 3 or all of them were either the reason they started/wanted to become a mangaka or more specifically the inspiration for there own work...but then again especially in the west it seems a lot of young people want to rewrite history or forget it all together when it comes to the hard/dark parts not realizing that history is something we should learn from so we don't make the same mistakes twice.
This is why i respect Naruto stans like you because sure you really love Naruto, but it doesn’t lessen the impact, or enjoyment of other series’s.

"Why eating crayons is really dangerous to your health"😂
I remember Bleach specifically turning me into an anime fan during the early 2010s, watching the series via RUclips back before anime clips longer than 30 seconds would get instantly copystruck down. I may have watched Dragon Ball and a lot of "market a game" anime like yugioh, pokemon, and bakugan, before even hearing about Bleach, but Bleach is what made me truly aware of the wider anime world. There's just no replacing events like that in your life.
And to say "X series should replace Naruto or Bleach because they're not good/popular enough today" is insanely disrespectful to the legacy they've left on the entire planet. Without Bleach, Naruto, and One Piece those series they want to replace their legacy with might never have even been created. There's just no replacing series that have had such a cultural impact that they not only were insanely popular but opened the floodgates for the rest of the anime world.
I think I'm starting to understand why eating crayons is not good for your health.
Everything you said is what happened to me. Dbz and Pokémon caught my attention in the late 90’s and I fell in love. Then in 2005 I got into naruto and a year or so later came bleach. It’s so cool there are so many that took a similar path and don’t even know it! Also, I rocked a ton of amv’s from Kazaa, limewire, and of course RUclips. I bet people remember the vegeta “in the end” video and trunks video “by myself” that was on Kazaa first.
The big 3 was an era in time. Not what 3 shows are the most popular. Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece got me into anime and I will always treasure them for that

As someone who is a gen z I feel like people hate bleach because they don’t know it
Bleach, One Piece and Naruto defined an entire generation in the 2000s.

Let’s be real there’s no need for a explanation because the big 3 was a title given by the industry it’s not up for debate…
Like people don’t understand it’s not a ranking it’s a title, it’s a group name not an actual top 3 ranking of popular anime and manga. When we say a guy was the 35th president that’s not saying he was ranked 35th lmfao it’s that he WAS 35th, you can’t just replace that
Anyone else stay for the discussion on why eating crayons is dangerous to your health??
I always thought of a "Big Four". Dragon Ball, Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece.
I like to think of those four as the four horsemen of shounen, because if anything, if you were to lump DB with the big 3 to make it the big 4, it's more of a downgrade for DB, as the father of the big 3 sounds so much more badass.
That intro 😂😂😂😂 "let's discuss why eating crayons is bad for your health" 😂😂😂😂

EXACTLY!! LONGEVITY!! No new shounen anime will ever have continuous hundreds and hundreds of episodes of episodes, hexl even bleach's tybw arc are split into 4 cours 13-iah eps each. The big 3 stood the test of time
There is no "replacing" anything in the "big three" and it will always remain the same because the three anime that we know as "big three" aka Naruto, Bleach and One Piece was extremaly popular back in 2000s or whatever. It does not matter if Hentai Tentacle Adventure xD is now more popular than Bleach or Naruto or One Piece it simply isn't, never was and never will be a part of the big three. It can be a part of modern day "big three" if such thing even existed but old big three is set in stone and that's it.

The newer generation of Anime watchers are quick to call something a Big 3 without realizing the newer manga/anime are all influenced by these 3 the same way they were influenced by dbz and others
I was born in 1992 and personally I think those born in the 90s lived within the perfect time for media entertainment. To this day we’ve seen how far it’s grown and how popular it has become. One main example of this is how Anime and Manga began to grow more in the West.
I very much treasure Anime/Manga and began to invest into it seriously during high school and this was around the time the Big 3 started. I remember all the AMVs for them, how some people talked about it IRL until Anime became more known in the West and it’s much normal to talk about it, and just how much it changed people’s lives. Truly the golden years and such nostalgia.
I agree there won’t be another Big 3 like before and it kinda urks me how people nowadays say “XYZ” are the new Big 3 or how they say “XYZ” is better than the previous ones before. Mainly because I grew up with the Big 3 and other Anime/Manga too, but I know I have to understand that they’ll never experience that like we did or at least have their own experience with big titles like MHA for example.

Awesome video man thanks! I feel your passion on this subject and it’s awesome. I got into Naruto after my little brother showed it to me. Shippuden came out and changed everything. Bleach I kind of found on my own, I think it may have been the adult swim dub idk when around 2010 maybe. And One Piece it took a while for me to get into after growing up seeing that weird 4kids dub. But my neighbor, actually has the big 3 admirals tatted, finally convinced me to check it out during that same time. We were also doing watch throughs of the orange box at the same time. What was the website we used animeready? Lol
Bleach was the first manga I ever read and it was also the first anime that I watched and recognized as an anime. I believe that the hate does need to stop as there are layer to these characters. This series actually inspired me to make my own characters in the hopes that I could make them into a series. For now; however, I am making my own Arrancar who falls for a certain 5th Division lieutenant but doesn't understand this new feeling.
I just hate ichigo's massive power ups with less training like I get it he's no ordinary human. but at least have him go through intense training on what it means to have power and how important is it for ichigo than to just protect your friends and I guess rhe soul society but i get it protecting friends could be his only goal but protecting the soul society should be more than that.
@XxDream_CasterxX His goal evolved from protecting his friends and family to protecting as many people as his two hands can carry. As for his "powerups", they are not so much powerups as they are just unlocking more of his latent power. Remember, "Old Man Zangetsu" was inhibiting Ichigo's abilities
Out of the Big 3 I only watched Bleach back in 2020 because it was slightly shorter without the Filler. But I had actually known Bleach since 2013 when I discover the fangame Naruto Vs Bleach on my school laptop. At the time I thought that "Bleach" was Ichigo's name (I actually talk Spanish and I didn't know what Bleach meant at the time) and I also thought that Ichigo was a Naruto character. Since I did know Naruto a bit, I always used Naruto or Rock Lee. Eventually I discover that Bleach was a completely different series.
Years later, Jump Force came out and my friend buy it and we played it sometimes. After seeing the many Shonen characters that were in the game, I decided to watch some of the anime and I decided Bleach first because like I said, it was slightly shorter without the Filler.
thank you 👏 for the video
You LITERALLY had the exact same experience as me lol. Grew up with DBZ , SailorMoon, Gundam Wing, YYH and Rurouni Kenshin (and etc) in the late 90s and early 2000s. They ended and I was like fuck now what do I watch..? In comes Naruto in 2005 on Toonami and I fell in love instantly. Saw Bleach on Adult Swim in 2006 and fell in love again. Remembered One Piece from 4kids dub and thought "meh", gave it a chance again with GOOD dubbing during Marine Ford in 2010 and fell in love...it's crazy how this was almost STRATEGIC from the writers, producers, etc. Their plan to succeed DBZ worked and I'll never be more grateful. I adore anime with all my heart and as I enjoy the new ones of today, I'll never forget the big three.

@@Raver-1601 Should never be intimidated by the length, just worry about the quality. To me, it drops in quality after the time skip and I dropped it.
Bleach was my fav of them 3 for sure. i wish they would bring back Claymore as i think it was ahead of its time
Here in Brazil we actually had some very popular anime series back in the 90’s, like Dragon Ball, Saint Seiya, Yu Yu Hakusho and Sailor Moon airing on TV, but undoubtedly, none of them had the reach the big 3 had in the 2000s, aside from DB, of course
I wish saint seiya was more popular in the USA its a good show I like it a lot
I remember watching bleach when only 5 episodes where out, it was torture waiting every week for an episode. But still good times :)
The early 2000s was a time to be alive. I didn't realize how ingrained I was, especially with Bleach, until recently. It's been fun rediscovering my love for the big 3 & reminiscing about how influential anime was during my childhood now as an adult
Ong these kids would never understand how great anime was, I hardly hear titles like inuyahsha, yu yu hakusho and etc mentioned, those were real gems and a lot of newer anime gets ideas from them
@@kishgod3478 I love rewatching the older animes. It was just a different time and feel that I prefer, but maybe that's just a sign that I've officially became old 🤣 One thing that I'm glad has changed now that anime is so popular is all the bullying & teasing we would get back in the day
2000s ere was literally the golden age of anime

I got into anime in the late 90s early 2000s because of Toonami. My original Big 3 was DBZ, Yyh, And Rurouni Kenshin. They were what I always looked forward to. Then there was also G Gundam.
I knew about Naruto in the early 2000s before it came to Toonami with a Shonen jump magazine in a book order in my school. It was when they were fighting Zabuza and we saw the demon wind shuriken. Then when I saw Toonami promote a year or so later I was like "HOLY HELL, I KNOW THAT!!!!" And the promo showed them fighting Zabuza and doing the Demon wind Shuriken throw by Sasuke.
I’m kind of different when it comes to how i started for me it was Death Note, Attack On Titan, and One Punch Man, but a few years ago i really opened up to anime, and got very diverse with what I’ve watched.
When I saw people saying "Change Bleach for DBZ" that was the moment I understood they didn't understand shit 💀💀
It's pretty cool you putting that out there. Not many understand anime before social media and the anime community. Beta, VHS, having and finding leads for anime🤭 before it was "popular" to be a "anime fan". The big three made a definite impact, anyone being apart of that time does understand.80's,90's 2000's,10's unfortunately alot think using terms like "better" or "version" is a misinterpretation usually related to self promotion or misinformed because their not aware of the way the "time" was, and don't understand it "was" a time that did happen and passed. With all the options now because of social media more than likely it won't happen again. Keep up the good work👍.
I thought Pokemania & Toonami were what made anime mainstream Stateside back about 25 Years ago. I can only imagine what the Beta Days were like, although then the stars aligned with Sailor Moon & DBZ arriving on Cartoon Network's Toonami & shortly after Nintendo crusaded to promote their new series Pokemon. The Big 3 are more complicated, Naruto became Toonami's successor for DBZ, One Piece failed initially, & I never hear how well Bleach did on Adult Swim.
"as well as discussing, why eating crayons is really dangerous for your health" is the most passive aggressive way of telling hew anime watchers to shut up and at least learn why the big three was the big three in the first place before saying that their favourite anime should replace the old big three.
Indeed
Big 3 especially bleach will always have special place in my heart ❤️
Same here
Same here, my friend. Naruto, Bleach, and One apiece rock
Ngl i felt a bit lucky cuz yu yu hakusho has been a big anime here in my country in the 90s, before it became famous globally
Big 3 got so many moment that i love. It pertty sad when they end but i love them a lot and i rewatch them sometimes.
If you weren’t watching AMVs and having to watch subbed episodes of anime in 3 parts I frankly don’t want to hear your opinion on the impact of anything LOL
And the second part is missing 😂
@@DBZimran LMAOOO MANNNN those were hard times. New anime fans have it so easy 😂
And the small screen to avoid Copyright problems
I agree as much as we all wish it could happen again with new anime there's no new big three
I agree with you and appreciate the way talk of the big 3
Love how the town of his voice doesn't change when he makes jokes.
I feel so old sometimes. The anime I came up with was Voltron and Robotech. Technically Thundercats as well. Any older and it would've been Speed Racer, Gigantor and Astro Boy but I digress.
It's obvious that most people don't know what "the big 3" means as it's a fan made term to begin with. Some people seem to take it as the three biggest series at the immediate time with or without a previous series on the list. Some people think it's the biggest series of an era with or without a previous series on the list. But really it refers only to Bleach, Naruto and One Piece.
There's nothing anywhere saying that it even has to be three series. Which is why "the big 3" can only refer to Bleach, Naruto and One Piece. It's not like there's people working behind the scenes saying that three big series have to be ongoing at any given time. It was just a coincidence that people noticed and gave a name to. Then others tried to find other cases of it previously and after. The problem is you can't. There never was and mostly like never will be again the perfect storm of three wildly popular series like this. It was all just the right place at the right time. You can't force something like that.
So we can all just calm down trying to name a new or previous "big 3" and just enjoy what's here for as long as they're allowed to be here for us to enjoy.
Let's not forget that "the big 3" was actually "the big 4" when you bring in Fairy Tail as well. It never gained quite the same heights but for something not in Jump, it did really well at that same time. Poor Fairy Tail never gets any love. It was there being popular too. I'd love for them to make another Fairy Tail game. It was good but I wish everything was expanded. Some things just seemed too abridged.
So bringing up Fairy Tail just shows that it's all just fan made terms that can be changed whenever we want as we're the fans. And what do you do with series that retroactively became popular due to remakes and other reasons like JoJo and Hunter X Hunter?
Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon, Tekkaman Blade, Yu Yu Hakusho, Rurouni Kenshin, Hunter X Hunter, Inuyasha, One Piece, Bleach, Naruto, Fairy Tail, My Hero Academia, Food Wars, Soul Eater, Sword Art Online, One Punch Man, The Promised Neverland, Black Clover, Attack on Titan, Fire Force, Dr. Stone, Jujutsu Kaisen, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Tokyo Ghoul, the many, many Gundams and so on and so on. Where are the lines drawn? Is it by a period of time? Is it by sales? Is it by popularity? Is it limited to a certain number of series? It it limited to manga only? It it limited to Jump only? It it limited to anime only? It it limited to only series that were dubbed? Why is Gamora?
Well said the term tends to only refer to the 3 most successful Shonen Jump Series during the 2000s. Although it fails to take into account many series that shaped the anime/manga industry both before & after that single decade. Pokemon was an example of a series that transcended anime/manga & videogames combined yet it got so many kids into anime, with its popularity rubbing off on Yugioh as well.
Jojo & Hunter x Hunter are interesting cases in that the former spent most of its lifetime (1987-2011) as just Manga & Videogames & occasional OVAs before the anime happened. HxH looking back probably should have been the 4th Member of the Big 3, although its creator just couldn't physically keep up with the requirements of making it every week. Also an important series on your list you forgot were Saint Seiya & I agree Astroboy is often seen as the original shonen anime. There's plenty of value in older anime & preserving them as well as making them accessible.
It will be in big 3 once more starting this year in October.
That’s such disrespectful for simply comparing thinking others series should be replace in big three
Didn’t know that Dragonball sparked the big 3 and the big 3 sparked a whole new generation of anime. It’s so nice to watch a new anime and look back to see that it all started with merely inspired people from their favorite animes and mangas
I know that there will likely never be a new Big Three anime like we had in the early 2000’s but it’s pretty fun to talk about.
So I think it should be My Hero, Black Clover, and Jujutsu Kaisen. A lot of people will say Demon Slayer or AOT, but AOT
1: Doesn’t sell in the same magazine
2: Is Already Over
Also, my “New Big Three Headcanon” is that they should be inspired or influenced by one of the og’s which AOT also fails to do. My Hero has Naruto and One Piece, Black Clover has Naruto and Bleach, and JJK has Bleach too. And the three are still ongoing, which in my opinion makes them perfect fits
Not a bad assessment
@@AshishAroraa thanks
I can get behind that.
You cant replace any of the big 3 they are from an historic time in anime nuff said!
There is just something about twitter that compels people to concoct the absolute worst takes and actually post them for the world to see.
I remember when all 3 mangas were literally on fire for a few years, OneManga was the site to read the chapters, and i remember the site would always crash cuz all 3 would drop on the same day, which was Friday if i’m not wrong.
I’m not the biggest bleach fan but I don’t care what people say bleach will always be part of the legendary big three.
First ! Also good morning
You basically talked about my childhood, especially with the Linkin Park AMV😂.
The big three is status or position that can never be taken or changed.
But the animes of this time are really incredible tho ngl🔥
Lee punching Gaara to the sound of Linking Park is a cultural gem!
Bruh who that fk said Tokyo revenge should replaced bleach💀💀💀
Tf? Big 3 is Bobobo, Kinnikuman and Kochikame
I remember watching bleach when it first aired in the US... I also remember watching dragon ball z when it first aired in the US ... but I haven't seen anything else that truly pulled me in like those 2. Don't get me wrong. Other animes have been good. But imo nothing will ever top dragon ball and bleach
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!
cant believe people still going on about this in 2022 smh smh
