Thanks for reacting to this one!! For some reason, a lot of reactors won't do FM, and to me, the sax in the middle is top notch!!!
Some of the finest music ever produced, they're not songwriters, they're composers.
FM features the great Jeff Porcaro on drums, Walter on guitar.
Such a groove Stan! Love me some Steely Dan 🥰
Steely Dan is poetry put to a tune. Love it!
Great choice of music today 🎶🎵🎶 and fantastic reaction Stan 🤠
No words are required for you. Your head bebopping says it all. You are digging it
A deep cut from the perfection that is Steely Dan……. Night by Night.
The mood it puts me in,I never want to leave.
19 yo Jeff Porcaro on Night by Night, his first recording with SD. Double drumming with Jim Gordon on Parkers Band. The best.
Great reaction!
Soooo goood! One of my fave SD tunes!
Title song that plays over the opening credits to the film FM (1978) about an FM radio station in Los Angeles, also featuring music by Tom Petty, The Eagles, Linda Ronstadt, Jimmy Buffett, Boston, Queen and other top artists of the day.
THANK YOU FM FREQENCY MODULATION NO STATIC AT ALL.
Good album worth having in your collection! Tahnks
Great reaction! You should react to Steely Dan's song "Everything must go", from their last album.
❤📻 This is my all-time favorite Steely Dan song, but what I remember oh so long ago is that FM Was so new in the early 70's - up until then I listened to only AM radio (IF my mom or dad put on a popular station at the time, the infamous WOKY) in the car, or with my 9V Transistor Radio, When we were lucky to have a clear signal, and oh goodness the batteries I went through because I'd sneak listen to the radio under my pillow at night and fall asleep only to wake up to dead batteries in the morning. I was young enough that I remember getting some batteries in my St. Nicholas stocking one Christmas, and then as birthday and Christmas presents. Then came FM on the airwaves with stations in the Milwaukee area - WFMZ and WQFM, changing music history in Milwaukee forever, and being able to get those stations in clearly for the first time (no static), on radio 📻 (eventually through a present, a huge upgrade from my 9V Transistor) or in the car, In Stereo, just in time for the big bands of the time, who loved and excelled recording in stereo. AND my dad surprisingly bought a stereo system with a cassette player (which he inexplicably returned to get a system with an 8-track instead!)
Thus FM No Static at All.... The rest is history - but what history we lived though!!!
Thanks for the memories!!!
MINE TOO
Steely Dan's genre is up for grabs. Some rock infused with a funky sound and jazz club in the middle.
First I wanted to say how I appreciate your reaction, and more importantly, your breakdown on Steely Dan. I've heard it said that.. "Steely Dan is their own genre". They are masters at fusing together Rock, R&B, Jazz, Blues as well as a sprinkle of pop in their music. Great reaction. Take care.
Come alone? You ain't leaving alone! That's the motto
Peg is your next Steely Dan song! Thanks👊🏻
You should check out my reaction to peg
Great tune ...thanx
HAVE LISTENED TO THEM SINCE 72 AND THIS IS MY FAVORITE BY THEM.
I say to whoever will listen: You never grow out of Steely Dan...you grow into them...Jack
Background vocals by the some of the Eagles.
You can find three versions of this. You have this one with a guitar solo at the end (i think it may be the main one?), but there's another with a sax solo at the end. Then someone did their own mix where you get both solos one after the other. It kinda depends on which you come across.
Still hoping you'll check out "Pretzel Logic"...
"FM" is a double-entendre in this song. Frequency Modulation on the one hand, and Female/Male hookups on the other.
Keep the women alive!!!!!
The song was sampled by some rap artist.
This is where singles come to die!!!!!
Club FM
This is a song about a DJ who knows what the hell he is doing?
