Had this part leaking but had the flu so didn’t feel like fixing it myself. Had the boiler company round, showed them where it was leaking from, wanted to leave straight away without even opening the boiler as he was convinced he knew exactly what the problem was. Told him to at least take the cover off and look. 1 minute later, the cover was back on and still certain the housing was cracked. They sent me a quote for £400, to include changing the automatic air vent and the entire turbine housing. This did not include replacing the part that was actually leaking!! Have just repaired my boiler following this video. Nice and straightforward, easy to follow, perfect mate!
Leak was actually coming from the rear not the front - so as I feared I'm going to need to change the whole return manifold. This was worth a shot though - and this part doesn't come with the manifold kit so would have needed a new one anyway!
@@cputilitysolutions Yup I'd already seen that, thanks again! There's limescale buildup looking very much like the one you show. Water is actually dripping from the LHS of the boiler case which had me confused - turns out the boiler is installed slightly on the p*ss so water is downhill along the metal bar where the pipe connections attach. The RH block is definitely the culprit.
Does anyone know if the flow turbine can go in the other way round? This has recently been replaced on my boiler and now when I place a call for hot water the boiler kicks off with a creeping U0-U9 error code as if the temperature has raised too much
Any idea with this mate my greenstar 25si when I run hot taps or shower boiler locks out, I've replaced the heat exchange plate and still having the same issue ?
I've just run the hot tap and felt the flow pipe which felt like it was starting to warm up so going to change thr diverter and paddle. But would this cause the boiler to lock out?

@@MrJ2theC Well they charged me £40 for a £5 part that I could have picked up locally that day vs the guy taking 5 days after ordering it online... The labour is what it is. Thats his wage for the 20 mins he was here.

Glad it helped
THANKS! Great video, saved me time and money, appreciated
👍🏾
Great video changed mine still no hot water central heating is fine though and thoughts greatly appreciated.
Could be the turbine itself, would need further investigation

Yes mate!
This is so helpful, can you tell me do I need to drain entire system to change this adapter?
Just isolate the incoming cold 👍🏽
Life saver watching this video today
Great video bro
keep up with the good content 😀👍
Thank you!
Where did you get the flow turbine adapter from?
Thanks - just changed on mine, as you say the part which screws on is made of finest German cheese
Haha you know it 👌🏾

Thank you mate 👍🏽
Thanks I had exact same issue 👍

I don’t have a leak, but Need to open Hot Water tap to Maximum to get the Boiler to come on! Would replacing the flow turbine adapter help? Thanks!
Was it the flow sensor which he removed early on in this vid?

You might have a blocked plate too
@@cputilitysolutions cheers mate, is this likely easy to flush? Or complete new part?
@@Ahwoo87 you can take it out and clean it with acid or replace it
Cheers mate. Very helpful
Have you changed the seals ? Or just the adapter to stop the leak ?
I can’t get that bloody clip back in for the life of me!!!
Don't give up mate! Make sure the turbine is pushed in all the way home
Any idea with this mate my greenstar 25si when I run hot taps or shower boiler locks out, I've replaced the heat exchange plate and still having the same issue ?
Also replaced the hot water temperature sensor
Does it run ok on heating?

@@hawkingwestmids5738 I wouldn't have thought so mate but best to rule it out. Let me know how you get on
Good stuff....👍
What was the fault coming up for you to change the flow turbine?
It was leaking
Where does the fibre washer go?
Did you find out where it went in the end?

Just been charged £120 to have this replaced... Been robbed!
That price is fair, it's what I would charge for the job.
What's wrong with that?

Just been quoted £110 to get this done
Just ordered mine from screwfix £12.49 next day delivery I’m not paying £100 + to have fitted
Black cheese they are made of 😆
Indeed!
I had to do the same but then I got the F0 error
What was the F0 about?
