Man ! I’m happy there are other people who think like my family. It’s a no brainer on why you should take off your shoes. My mom bashed on people who walk with shoes on and especially those who sit on their couch/ beds with them on. It’s common sense. And thy crawling on the floor thing is so true, we do it all the time😆. And no I’m not Asian.
I hate houses with built in carpet. Give me wooden/concrete floor so I can clean easier, and no more carpets getting loose to hurt house value. I still take shoes off inside.
We're shoes off here in Canada. When I vacationed in Hawaii it's an iron clad rule too. Makes sense as it keeps the red dirt out plus many homes there have bamboo or wood floors. That's why everyone wears sandals there because they're easy to slip off at the door plus bare feet won't harm delicate bamboo floors.
UNLEASHING POTENTIAL - PSYCHOLOGY VIDEOS I'm not Asian but you still have to take your shoes off before you enter my parents home I'm from the Middle East
Most american homes have laminate wood flooring or tile PLUS we have roombas so guests can totally keep their shoes on in my house. Having them take off their shoes feels too intimate and weird to me.
When I turned 22, idk what happened or why, but it suddenly made all the sense in the world to me to never wear shoes in the house, wash my feet before bed and scrub my back in the shower, lol. Having done it so long, idk how I used to _not._ It makes all the difference 😳
i don't know anyone who wears shoes inside (i'm finnish) shoes are actually pretty uncomfortable too, why even wear them inside when they just make the floor dirty?
Who else instead walks around their home in flip flops that are specifically just for wearing in your house 😂 except for carpeted areas because thats where you should be barefoot
I walk around barefooted in my house although our floor is not carpeted. My grandmother used to make us walk with slippers on in the kitchen/bathroom then leave them when going out of that area.
Actually, the korean version is way closer the proper pronunciation than how americans/english speaking people say it, so I would say keep it up! In swedish (so the real pronunciation of the name) we say "EHKEEA".
It is a common sense .... If you are not OK to walk bare feet on the streets then you should not be ok to leave shoes on indoor, on the couch and some ppl even on the bed!!
I've threatened to bean people with my heeled boots if they didn't take off their shoes in my apartment. I shared the apartment with another asian and an american, it was 2 vs 1 so he got overruled on the shoes bit. We have all at one point or another done the crawling bit like Evan. He was so freakn relatable to hurt. I died when he was like "due diligence".
I feel exactly like that man when someone walks in my home with shoes on!! Peeking through the door... Leering at those nasty shoes as they track grime in 😭😂. Shoes are specifically to make a barrier between your foot and the ground so why wear them inside?! Maybe you should walk around barefoot outside in the city, then tell me where your shoes belong while in the house! I guarantee you will be disgusted (and probably scraped), within minutes. Shoes are for outside 🙅♀️
I was shocked when I asked a person to take his outdoor shoes off in my house he made a big deal about it. Well, guys if your parents never taught simple manners do not puch that to the others. To wear outdoor shoes indoors is discusting. It usually goes along with a poor personal hygene.
Yeah I’ve never understood why it’s controversial. My wife and I had a friend over not long after we moved into our house. We had just cleaned the floors before she arrived and when she got there she was wearing sandals. She asked “would you like me to take my shoes off?” We didn’t want to be too forward so we left it up to her. Thankfully, she took them off went in her bare feet. A few months later when we visited her home, she actually made us take ours off the minute we came in.
I have all my life wondered where americans need so many shoes cuz nobody's gonna see them anyway. Just recently I understood it. You guys keep shoes while indoors. I live in Finland where you take your shoes off when you get home. And we take them off when we are in school. (ocf in universitys and in colleges not bc there are so many ppl anyway) And we say Ikea like the Korean guy said. Cuz that's how it is supposes to say 😂 Ikea is a Swedish company so they (including finns) pronounce them "correctly"
We live in Russia and we also don't wear street shoes inside the house. It's not super strict rule but it's kinda disgusting bringing street dirt in the house
No way! If anyone asked me to take my shoes off with my clean socks and their floors dirty? Nah I'm good. But I'm never coming over your house ever count me out. People with dirty floor to ask people to take their shoes off are my biggest pet peeve
i never practiced this but after studying in korea for a year- i was converted. especially since there is that extra defined step up into the room where you clearly should take off your shoes. soon whenever people came over i was like TAKE OFF YOUR SHOES FIRST!!!!!!!! honestly it just gave me more peace of mind about my room- especially since i sat on the floor to eat. but yea now im changed forever
I mean... I dig it, and I find it very smart to only use shoes outdoors and slippers indoors... but how does it work? Do you leave your shoes by the door? Are everybody’s slippers always there by the door too? What if you have guests? Do you live with a pile of shoes just next to the door? I live in a small apartment with three more people and can’t understand how I could manage to make it work? Lol I have so many questions 😂
@@andyadrb I used to live in a small apartment, and yes, my roommate and I did leave our shoes by the door. We had a shoe rack there, and we generally kept our slippers and most-often-used shoes on the floor in front of the shoe rack. Guests would leave their shoes just inside the door as well. We'd have spare slippers for one or two guests, but when we'd have a lot of guests over, they'd just walk around in socks or bare feet after leaving their shoes by the door. Korean and Japanese homes generally have an entryway designed for leaving the outdoor shoes there. A Korean friend of mine explained that it was bad luck to bring shoes inside the house. But elsewhere in Asia, you just leave them by the door. It's respectful to the people who live in the house to remove your shoes when you come in. :)
When I was younger, I'd always try to take off my shoes when at my distant families house, my parents would always tell me to put them back on quickly. Never got it till I realised.. some people r just weird af sometimes. (Grew up in a mixed culture of northern European and South East Asian).
As a Polish person I relate!! Recently I was visiting my American friends with a bunch of Latinos and literally I was the only one to take my shoes off 😂

if someone refuses to take off their shoes before coming into my house, theyre not coming in 😂
Hell yes!!
Who likes wearing shoes in their house it's so uncomfortable
Jeanell Stemn Have you ever worn uggs
I mean if they're really comfy then fair enough you can wear them. But I never have shoes on in the house bc that's still kinda gross
Even if someone doesn't take their shoes off at home, it's kind of direspectful to leave your shoes on if you're going in to a house that doesn't allow shoes...
If I wore my shoes into someone’s house, either they would drop kick me or my parents would
sooooo the guy from the *north* is having issues with the south korean and they start to have border disputes and arguments... so this isnt a metaphor for anything?
well if it were, they should have given the blue to the south korean and the red to the guy from the north b/c those colours symbolize our countries
he's from California, that's not really The North
Whao now that I think about it, it might be a metaphor. Why else did they talk about the guy being from north?
At the end they break all the walls in between and shake hands with each other. Good observation👌
So, I’m not the only one who thought this was a metaphor for the North and South Korea issue. Also, they said DMZ...
No it’s literally about shoes it ain’t that deep

Wait, there are people who don’t take their shoes off?
That’s insane!
They are normally called, Americans!

THEN YOU CLEAN THE HOUSE INSTEAD.
NO SHOES ON THE CARPET!
Such a pet peeve! That's the first thing I tell people; no shoes on my carpet!
GemInTheMaking 15 YES!!! I HATE WHEN PEOPLE DO THAT
Thats a nightmare cleaning the carpet afterwards if someone did😅
NO SHOES AT ALL
I hate houses with built in carpet. Give me wooden/concrete floor so I can clean easier, and no more carpets getting loose to hurt house value. I still take shoes off inside.
Most of the Asian countries follow the same ritual of removing of shoes.Any Asian?😊😘🤣
Tisha Kapoor me😂😂
I think most of European African and Asian follow the same rules
Lisa Simpson well im pretty sure Most europeans do this too... atleast i do and im European and my friends do that too.

If u don't want to clean ur house again.. Better keep ur shoes out.. Y would anyone want to clean the floor again.. Uggghhh... Not me..
it isn’t just asians??? any normal person doesn’t wear shoes in their homes
if you’re going inside your house, don’t bring your shoes in with you,at least wear flip flops or something or like just be barefoot
Take your goddamned shoes off WE JUST VACUUMED!!!
When guests come into the house and just walk right past the shoe rack...
smh.
I personally take my shoes off when I first get home cause I don't want the floor dirty but my family does not understand for some reason
kotolde are you Korean ?
kotolde you're right
Ikr! I totally feel you, my family does not understand either. I ended up giving up.

refusal to take shoes off....deal breaker. anyone visiting my home MUST take shoes off. no exceptions. my home, my rules.
Not gonna argue with that
Same. One should respect others home policy
You won't have a problem with Asian guests then...
This is the way it should be. Makes a whole lot of sense.
"So the whole country has OCD?" Hahaha😂
We're shoes off here in Canada. When I vacationed in Hawaii it's an iron clad rule too. Makes sense as it keeps the red dirt out plus many homes there have bamboo or wood floors. That's why everyone wears sandals there because they're easy to slip off at the door plus bare feet won't harm delicate bamboo floors.
I think it is very smart that Asian culture takes off their shoes in the home. After all, shoes from outside have stood in many different bathrooms.
UNLEASHING POTENTIAL - PSYCHOLOGY VIDEOS I'm not Asian but you still have to take your shoes off before you enter my parents home I'm from the Middle East

We in Germany also always take off our shoes inside.
Im from Britain and I thought it was just standard
We do it too here in Scandinavia, doesn’t make any sense to wear shoes inside🤦🏾♀️
Wait, everybody doesn’t take off their shoes indoors?
I don't. xD
@@CandyBoot We're definitely the minority on this issue.

yea and why would you want to smell some stinky feet
When I turned 22, idk what happened or why, but it suddenly made all the sense in the world to me to never wear shoes in the house, wash my feet before bed and scrub my back in the shower, lol.
Having done it so long, idk how I used to _not._ It makes all the difference 😳
i don't know anyone who wears shoes inside (i'm finnish)

As an Asian,I agree to not wear shoes in the house.

Crawling on the floor with shoes on is so real LOL. Happens back home in India too.
Who else instead walks around their home in flip flops that are specifically just for wearing in your house 😂 except for carpeted areas because thats where you should be barefoot
I walk around barefooted in my house although our floor is not carpeted. My grandmother used to make us walk with slippers on in the kitchen/bathroom then leave them when going out of that area.
i wear my inside thongs (Australian word Flip flops if you are in 'murica) everywhere in my house, and just take them off when i want to.

Wear indoor slippers! Plus, who else pronounce IKEA like the the korean guy ? I do 😂😂😂
Actually, the korean version is way closer the proper pronunciation than how americans/english speaking people say it, so I would say keep it up! In swedish (so the real pronunciation of the name) we say "EHKEEA".
Hanachan stars same!
no u
Am i like one of the little percentages of people who crawl if they forgot something to grab? Lmao to lazy to take it off then tie it again
It is a common sense .... If you are not OK to walk bare feet on the streets then you should not be ok to leave shoes on indoor, on the couch and some ppl even on the bed!!
Come to NZ! Bare feet are fine outside
Ugh! Just take your shoes off or get house slippers. Btw did anyone else cringe at the shoes on the table??
BonebabeXD YES
bro shoes or not, even putting your feet up on the table like that makes me cringe.
“So the whole country has ocd?”

I'm watching this with my shoes on and my feet up on the couch.
Anyone else once aggressively throw their roommates shoes out the window?...
*Nope just me ok....*
I would do that
America vs the world*
I feel exactly like that man when someone walks in my home with shoes on!!
I'm not talking about the dirt of shoes, but, I don't understand how you can feel comfortable with shoes every single hour of the day.
(ocf in universitys and in colleges not bc there are so many ppl anyway)
And we say Ikea like the Korean guy said. Cuz that's how it is supposes to say 😂 Ikea is a Swedish company so they (including finns) pronounce them "correctly"
Do people in Finland speak Swedish?
Yeun Jeon Yeah, they learn it in school.
We live in Russia and we also don't wear street shoes inside the house. It's not super strict rule but it's kinda disgusting bringing street dirt in the house
😂😂 the crawl he did was like something every korean person
No way! If anyone asked me to take my shoes off with my clean socks and their floors dirty? Nah I'm good. But I'm never coming over your house ever count me out. People with dirty floor to ask people to take their shoes off are my biggest pet peeve
I dont take my shoes off even at home
i never practiced this but after studying in korea for a year- i was converted. especially since there is that extra defined step up into the room where you clearly should take off your shoes. soon whenever people came over i was like TAKE OFF YOUR SHOES FIRST!!!!!!!! honestly it just gave me more peace of mind about my room- especially since i sat on the floor to eat. but yea now im changed forever
YOU ANIMALS!!!!
TAKE THOSE DAMN SHOES OF YOUR FREACKING FEET!!!
Its off not of
The struggle of trying to have my non-Asian roommates and friends follow the no shoe rule while is college is rough hahaha
I wrote "NO SHOES" signs and taped it right on the dorm room door and wall.
@@andyadrb Buy a shoe rack or build one, you can also just put it in your closet or something
Yep and they made fun of my bathroom slippers but then I converted them lol
When I was younger, I'd always try to take off my shoes when at my distant families house, my parents would always tell me to put them back on quickly. Never got it till I realised.. some people r just weird af sometimes. (Grew up in a mixed culture of northern European and South East Asian).
I think even in america people are wearing shoes in the house.only in dry sunny regions, if there is a mud on the street you won't be doing it
