- The Soto WindMaster tested in a storm (7 Bft). The Captain compared the WindMaster stove to some other options for cooking in the Wilderness. The WindMaster is one of the greatest ultralight backpacking stoves right now. However, towards the end of this video the Captain reveals a truly windproof and easy alternative.
Working in that wind has sold me. The next level of wind looks to be a tornado. Ha. Great Test video!
Hehehe, thanks 😎 glad this was useful for you. Great stove!
Nice job my friend!! That is about as windy as it gets. Really impressed with these little stoves!!
Thanks 😎👍 Yes, very reliable!
I bought one based on your demonstration. Thanks
Oh that's nice to hear 😎👍 Buy it nice, or buy it twice 😎👍
This is just a perfect review in these harsh conditions. I'm convinced now.
Hehehe, thanks for watching sir 😎👍
Good test brother. Been researching canister fuel burning stoves for a while. I'm buying my first one now & it's gonna be a Soto Windmaster for sure.👍🏼
Thank you! Yes, I still think it's great 😎👍
Great wind test brother, probably will get a wind master.. cheers…
Thank you 😎👍 I think it's a great choice
The Windmaster proves to be a strong individual!!
That's a strong observation 😎
@@CaptainCamp lol
Perfect test. Thanks!
😎👍
Thanks for such good simulation and review and it really helps me to make the decision to get one windmaster. Keep it up man 👍🏽
Hey, thank you! 😎
Good video. Real test conditions. I want test my DIY stove under those conditions.
Hey thanks! Cool, all it takes is waiting for the 'right' weather 😎 cool prototype by the way!
WOW, you made a pretty big point there:) yesterday I bought the amicus.... I think I'm going to pick up the wind master now. I'm just learning so the info. is much appreciated thank you so much for the video:)
Hey, thanks for watching 😎 I believe the Amicus and WindMaster both have a comparable wind-resistant design. According to reviews, both are a great choice. There are some differences though and I haven't tried. So up to you 😎
I just gave you the "GREAT" like. GREAT experiment.
Hehe, thank you! 😎👍
What is up my brother from South Korea wow
Thank you for watching sir 😎👍
Ridiculous amount of wind. Lol. This was a great video.
This is ridiculous, thank you! 😎👍
😂😂😂😂 You really should have done this on a windier day......🤪😂😂😂
Some irony here though, as your video turns up in my watch list, on the day that my Soto Windmaster is delivered to me by the Postman! 😱 You couldn’t make that up?
Great video this....and proved the product, so well done you! 👍🏻👍🏻
Hehehe, great choice. Still my favorite stove 😎👍 thanks!
@@CaptainCamp my beer supply has also been delivered, so I raise a beer to you! 🍻🍻👍🏻👍🏻😋
Hehehe cheers 😎👍
That was a wind test. 🌬🔥
Hehe thanks 😎
nobody is talking about the mic, which also seems to be a windmaster
Haha true 😎👍 it's the Rode VideoMicro
That was a very realistic test. I often go camping on concrete in highly exposed places, because finding some kind of shelter or natural windbreak is cheating, isn't it?
It's a city nomad's test 😎👍
😂
Use it for a couple of weeks on your kitchen stove before trusting it in the outback.
I had two fail after a coupe of dozen uses (Testing in my kitchen). Both valves stuck and would barely simmer when wide open or not light at all. Piezo on the 2nd stove (the replacement) took 5-7 tries to light AFTER gas was spewing out. I have other stoves that worked flawlessly on the same canisters.
When it worked it was pure bliss. Quiet, steady etc.
Sea level, Coleman canisters, 68 degrees, April 2021, brand new stoves. Returned them until manufacturing improves.
Hey thanks! Good to know 😎 So far no problems with mine though
Okay, you sure picked a windy spot to give the stove a good workout...were you impressed with its performance and is it worth keeping on a newbies list of considerations? New sub and am looking forward to more of your great content...take care and have a great week ahead...
Thanks for following the channel, yours is cool as well 😎 my conclusion: I was very impressed it worked in the storm (7 Bft wind force), although I don't have a lot of other gas stoves for comparison. There are other sources on the internet/youtube who did comparisons in milder conditions and ranked the WindMaster #1. It's not the cheapest (~65 euro or dollar). I would say: once you know camping is 'your thing', the WindMaster should be on your list 😎 I went for the cheap Campingaz stove 5 years ago and it has always been a hassle in slight wind and it only works with specific Campingaz canisters (I would not recommend this brand). Another stove, the BRS 3000t, seems to be a popular budget ultralight stove but doesn't perform in wind. In slight wind you'll want some sort of (improvised) windscreen anyway, for efficiency. I would put on a newbie list:
- BRS 3000t if you're on a tight budget.
- Soto WindMaster if you want a good reliable stove for years to use.
Thank u
Thank you! ☝️😎
Which is faster at cooking an egg? Is a fried egg faster than scrambled? Thanks
Unfortunately, I don't have the answer for you 😎
I hope we find out in the next installment
@@nf2808 hehe
we live in a simulation u are correct
Maybe 😎
Can you use the MSR IsoPro Canister with SOTO WindMaster Stove?
Yes 😎 It's what I use in this video 😎
@@CaptainCamp Thank you, sir. Also, thanks for your contribution.
😎👍
Great video, thank you.
Sub”d.
Thank you 😎
can someone help me? I just bought one of these and when I take the stove off the gas can, it spurts out a lot of gas. is this normal?
It's normal for stoves to leak a bit when a gas canister gets screwed on or off. Gotta spin it fast 😎👍
@@CaptainCamp thank you!
The wind was about to blow tour shirt off but the trees in the background were not even moving, You tried to light the first stove over the grates that were making the wind but the Windmadter you moved off the grates.
Okay, you got me. The weather was completely staged 😎
@@CaptainCamp actually you did light and boil water over the grated with the Windmaster . Lol.
If it's that windy, go inside and cook inside. If you're camping and it's that windy, pack up and walk back to your car.
Hehehe 😎👍 Sometimes not possible to go inside or back to car. Too far. Honestly, I would skip cooking and try to find a decent place to rest/camp where there's less wind.
@@CaptainCamp there's that ... Or the weather forecast telling us to stay home when it's nasty.
Hehehe 😎👍
Where was that?
It's near the bridge of Dorkwerd, just outside Groningen 😎
