Wow!!! Just Wow! I'm 65 years old - and my FAVORITE toy car of all time was my bright red Corgi Ferrari Berlinetta. In school we boys played at lunchtime - pushing our Corgi/Dinky cars as fast as possible across the width of the school playground. My Berlinetts was UNASSAILABLE - it rolled faster and further than any other car that I - or anyone else ever had. Never knew why until today. Now you reveal that the way the wheels were mounted onto the body was unique! Surely this must explain it's prowess in the speed trials! You'd really never guess that a mystery like that would ever be solved! I can't thank you enough for letting me know. (And I'm very jealous of your restored car!). Many thanks.
Thank you very much for such a wonderful comment. I am only approaching my sixties, but I know exactly the atmosphere of those years. I believe they were irreplaceable. I cordially greet and wish you good health
Paul, this Ferrari Berlinetta was the very first Corgi Car I ever had. I am certain my youngest brother got it and destroyed it, or my Mom threw it away. I looked for it years ago, but no soap. Playing with this toy, I was struck by the spring suspension! I did what you always do...let it drop from 1/4" up and watch the suspension take the weight. It rolled along the floor effortlessly, much better than any previous die cast car I owned. (Probably early rudimentary Lesney old-timers.) Watching your wonderful restoration here, it drove me crazy to get one! I remembered a childhood friend gave me his die cast cars many years ago. I miraculously found the box they were in! One was this Berlinetta. Most all the guys had this Ferrari for some reason. Onto my desk it went! It showed it's years, but not too bad. I then, because of your restoration videos, sourced several vintage, original near mint in their original boxes Corgi Cars from a seller in the UK. I am thrilled to get them! Thank you for rekindling my love of die cast cars!
I absolutely agree. As if the restoration of the car wasn't amazing by itself, you've finished the job with the box that it came in. Unbelievable!! Patience, passion, persistence. Just awesome.
What a fantastic restoration of such a beautiful iconic cute little car, Paulie!! You really have the knowledge and kindness restoring all your wonderful projects back to being brand new and giving them new lives!! It’s always a pleasure to come back to your neat channel and see all your awesome work!! You’re truly a gift to the world, my friend!!
Watching videos like these are great stress relievers. The patience and craftsmanship that goes into restoration of any 'has seen better days' items is just amazing. Great job!
I don't know why this showed up in my feed, I have no interest in model cars, but I watched almost all of this. You had a clever solution to each problem you encountered, and demonstrated each technique. Thank you for making this video.
Stumbled upon this and so glad I did. I kept all my Corgi toys up until 6 years ago as something to hand down. When I had to move overseas they got lost somewhere. Now I feel really gutted to see just how wonderfully they could have been restored. My pride and joy were the You Only Live Twice Toyota with the rocket firing out of boot, and the Green Hornet Black Beauty (so much fun packed into one small toy), and for me the pinnacle was the metalic green Corvette Stingray with the yellow glass sunroof and pull down wheel jacks with removable wheels, and a lift up bonnet and yes they still had their original boxes. Thank you for a great video. And well done, a lovely restoration.
Absolutely fantastic and very therapeutic to watch. Nice to see a great British product getting a new lease of life, that will no doubt now, outlive us all. Thanks for sharing.
🎉🥂Muchas felicidades 🎉🥂 Disfruto y aprendo mucho con tus videos, descuida no restaurante algo. Por favor no desperdicies tanta agua cuando les quitas la pintura a los coches.
I remember this model. It was particularly well made and you have beautifully restored it to perfection. However, when Corgi chose to make a mid-1960s Ferrari, I have never understood why they didn't make a 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO, an absolutely iconic race car. They would have sold a million. I don't believe they ever made a Mercedes 300 SL gullwing, either. Pity. A work of art, Paul.
They did make a mercedes 300 gullwing , it was realised in 1/36th scale in 1982 in red in the black , orange and yellow window box for a short time , then both red and a silver version appeared in 1983 in the cars of the 50s series in a brown double sided window box , just before corgi went into receivership in july 83 .
Corgi toys 314 ferrari, had a long production run, 1965 to 1972 , some also found their way into gift set 41 instead of the rover 2000 . Only 2 variations these are found on the baseplate early ones had 2 parallel straight lines cast , later ones also had 2 parallel lines cast but canted out at opposite angles at the rear , they all sported their spoked wheels and rubber tyres to the end of production, from 1970 they appeared in the slim jim yellow and blue window box. A really lovely restoration paul .
I liked matchbox, but loved Corgi & Dinky . As a boy I remember going into a big city store with my mum to choose my one and only Dinky toy, a Captain Scarlet Security Vehicle. Paul I hope you do more Corgi & Dinky models. Love the result on this one.
Looks fantastic! My favorite part was the fact that I could tell this model is vintage, and not a matchbox car that you buried in your garden a week ago to "restore" for the sake of views. You put a lot of effort into this, clearly. On behalf of those of us who can easily tell the difference between "model restorations" and a true model car restoration, I'd like to say thanks, and you're awesome 👍
Followed this refurbishment one with particular interest having the model myself with box. Nice job and for all that matters the near perfect self made box. A word of advise: introduce captions with each individual built process this will help understand what is applied. Keep up the entertaining clips.
I got to ride in one of these a few years ago on fathers day. They pulled up just as I get to the store frontdoor and I thought I'm going to ask, he said hop in. I started getting goosebumps as his wife went in the store we headed to the nice concrete strip behind Kroger. 110 mph in about 4-5 seconds, coolest shit ever.
thx .....It took me back to my childhood days ..when playing was in the sand and outside in the nature ....gravel roads and tunnels ......when ants had respect crossing a road ....... and mothers had less stress about safety of their kids //God Bless your hands for bringing back the past to see ....
It's such a shame ,that the children of today wouldn't appreciate the amount of passion & skill and dedication that goes into painstakingly restoring these beautiful toys ...you are a dying breed my friend excellent restoration

Amazing,I had one.You are very talented .I was astonished when you recreated a diacast that I had and played with. You even put on new decals, cast your own tires and crafted a box.And what a beautiful reveal.Thank you so much.
Addendum to previous comment lots of clickbait on RUclips so I have expected you know paintbrush put some rubber tires on it and call it good but you are disassembling it so I'm very interested I had no idea it was actually that complicated inside so awesome
Crickey Paul , that's pretty impressive stuff. I really enjoy Bob Willis, l'm sure you know we're all going to have a good giggle when he makes a video. I think your the creative one , so l enjoy seeing you making parts. Thank you. ( Oh, l 've subscribed by the way. Well, can't let Bob steal all the limelight!)
This is a fantastic restoration, you even did a new box for it too. Great Job I wish I kept all my old Corgi cars. I had 100's of them during my childhood and had no idea then that they would become valuable.

Own the same unfortunately broke one exhaust off,any solution for that?
it is best to drill the hole with a small drill and install a copy of the exhaust on the wire. Best wishes
Superb job! I used to have this model myself.
Thank you! Cheers!
You gotta love the irony that this car still had a spare tire in the back while it was missing all four of them on its wheels.
It's the only one that still had air in it!
Lol 😂
And it was she who saved me this renovation, because I could make a mold for copying other tires thanks to it. Best wishes
And it was thanks to this tire that I was able to make a mold and cast the rest. In a word, she saved my life. Best wishes
