Star Citizen is an open development, crowd funded project from Cloud Imperium. Consisting of 2 games, Squadron 42 a single player, story driven campaign putting you in the middle of the Vanduul attacks as an up and coming UEE Navy pilot, and Star Citizen, a highly detailed
first person MMO set within a persistent universe where there are no limits. This includes, space, and ground aspects, massive spaceships with full interiors and interactions, a full dynamic economy which reacts to the players actions allowing for anything you can imagine.
It is all being built on the StarEngine (a modified version of Amazon's Lumberyard Engine).
Please bare in mind that this is heavily WIP and in an alpha state in which much of the foundational tech to make it a reality is still being developed. Both games do not have set release dates yet but you can play the alpha build for the PU MMO which makes consistent progress
with quarterly patch releases throughout the year.
I am an independent content creator and a fan of the game, I am not paid by Cloud Imperium however I do accept ships from them to giveaway to my community but this will by no means influence my opinion or what I say and believe about the project.

It was a fun build, i didnt have many issues unlike most. The hangar terminal you showed, i found really easy to use even with my learning difficulties. I loved getting the furniture from the kelto shop at orison where i was, and then getting them from the storage and watching them come up on the elevators. The ship calling from the hangar was for the first time see it come up out of the floor, was way better than the ship just randomly popping in to the hanger. I didnt even notice the time it took as i just went from the habs, then straight to the lift then found my name in the lift floor screen and there i was. So i was just getting all my armor ready from the kiosk. Then setting up the hangar furniture and sitting back to watch the ship raise from the out the floor was really cool. Even going to other stations and buying cargo, then to see it and move the cargo from the freight elevator was quite impressive and speedy. I will be testing all the limits of these first hangars when we get another test. But for me it was fun, and visually it was so much better than i had seen in videos. It did have a few ctd for me and the server recovery. But they were very few, unlike older tests. Over all it was a great test, and fun to see the first test of our own hangars to call home, it was well worth the wait to test them out.
Thank you for your service (to the issue council)
the amount of inventory to be lost moving it to boxes, then moving the boxes tu ships, the boxes disapearing.... it is gonna be legendary
literal millions of SCU of cargo falling through elevators in the future.
I'm frustrated at myself about how hype I'm getting at all these features that aren't in yet, lol
They are closer than a year ago! 100% me too 😅
Chairs being able to be locked onto cargo grid... every ship's a dropship! 🤩
All this new updates to hangars & inventory, have me all the more looking forward to seeing how the "luxury" Revel & York hangars will turn out after they're updated. I loved the original versions & believe that the updates will be even more incredible.
I had a couple ships that had the Revel & York hangers, now all of them are Self Land...hmmm. I'm thinking the hanger will match the location. Microtech hangers will be different than Hurston hangers...Crusader different than ArcCorp...
@@cygnus6623 , while that would be interesting if they're all different based on location, I still have an old stand alone, starting hangar Revel & York in my account inventory, but I see what you mean about them changing them in packages. They swapped the Revel & York Hangar in the Origin Complete Pack to a VFG Industrial Hangar, which I find very disappointing.
No I think this is the point, your personal hangar will be what it is no matter where you home base. So if you have the basic loreville work till death style hangar, you will probably be disappointed when you base out of Orison...
@@jkline398 I think my main issues is over the years I've used cheap LTI ships that were upgraded to the ship I wanted. So my current Mercury has self land because it was upgrade from a Spartan...for instance.
So, I lost a hanger option for LTI.
I’ll believe it when I see it.
The motto of any long time SC backer. 😂
I believe it because I see it
I've been "watching this space" for 10 years.... I feel you
Kinda of that mentality we try to teach our children, when they persist with the "when" questions.
When is dinner gonna be ready?
Dinner is ready, when its ready.
Are we there yet?
We get there, when we get there.
I believe it when someone credible tells me. Like S.M.B. for example.
YESSSS, this is amazing, the only thing that worries me is the loading times for cargo, but it will be great to have my vehicles and special cargo stored in one place that i can retrieve and store safely!
I think it’s great the time only maters if you want to be lazy and auto unload do it yourself or bring a friend to help laziness should be punished it probably could use some adjustment though
I'm glad that stations are getting instanced hangers, I was afraid that only the personal hanger would have an instanced version meaning you had no option to accumulate and or load cargo on a station. This will be MUCH better for my salvaging runs. Fill up the Vulture, unload at the lagrange station and then keep salvaging until I can load a full MSR or C1 and take it planetside.
I hope the hanger flair can be used on the ships to I want to turn the port cargo door side of my Cutlass into a man cave with TV a couch, table a some chairs. Land somewhere nice and you'll have a room with a view to chill in, great for that off grid play style you promote which I am a huge fan of.
why shouldn't it be doable?
@@Nitrox_909 I'm just sharing idea's bro, I still get killed off by elevators so who knows.. my couch could blow out the back when I go to quantum for all know or it disappears like cargo boxes do if you leave them in your hold and store your ship.
Definitely expect your man cave to disappear often for many reasons. I wonder what it will be like playing on full serversand seeing no one, as everyone is spending hours moving shit around again after last server error
I can already imagine myself loading up my Carrack with a hovertrolley full of 2SCU crates, bringing them down the elevator in a bunker, using them as cover and loading them up with looted armors before bringing them up and taking them on the hovertrolley back to my Carrack.
yes.
Shame you won't be able to fully use the carrack for some time.
but my worry is, how will it be to store loot in a box. I hope they find somthing better that equip it and store in the cargo box.
I don't want to be naked while looting.
@@MrThepierrot74 hopefully draag'n'drop will work from ground to container.
or maybe the crates will be openable at some point and you can just place the armor items physically inside.
all to randomly phase through the floor and die at any point lmao
@@alphawolfgang173 aaaayyyyyyyyyyyyy
It is worth noting that the personal storage SCU boxes have been in and available for quite a few patches. It'll be interesting to see if these new inventory changes will mean that we see a much wider use of them now 🤔
I do agree about it . Immersion with game and the way how game alows us to work in it with it.. what ever... Love it
Initial 3.24 build was a dumpster fire, multiple server crashes per hour, but as Evo, we expect that. Thats entirely normal lol. The first few builds are always focusing on server stability, the more crash data they get, the more server hiccups they can fix and the quicker we get a smoother server so we can test stuff.
Likely be closer to the end of the week before we really get to play/break the hangars properly. Looking forward to it!!
Sweet looking forward to my Carrack sized hanger..
Same, just a shame the carrack will be useless with this patch
Mid-sized for me...Mercury. I did think about trading up, but I think I'll be fine not having to run across a huge hanger. Though, it would be pretty cool I do admit!
I wonder how we will physically load our Carrack cargo
@@adamburr5716 good question, I think the ship needs a rework so those cargo pod side doors open.
I hope they give me my kraken sized hangar. I want to decorate the ever living out of it
With these changes to cargo and inventory it would be very nice if our home location can be set to various stations in addition to one of the four planet/cities. Just a thought for CIG.
Fun build, felt fluid and dynamic. Hope this releases for everyone soon!
Following since kickstarter and I must say that at least there is still enough stuff to talk about in SC. Better than info once a year or two
If anything there's too much info
Fellow kickstart backer here too. Can't wait to try out 3.24 when its live. looking forward to seeing my player hangar. will probably collect turtles and stuff lol
@@kevindixonmusic tbh I will try it out once server meshing is live whether it be this year or in a few years
Can you test something if you get a chance. Order a small ship in a big hanger. Move it off the ship lift and order another ship. Curious if ships ordered and stored away from lift persists.. Great vid as usual
If it's small enough then it should be spawn able in the side elevator
Looking forward to getting my hands on this! Hopefully it's able to move quickly through the testing cycles but I'm bracing myself for another few weeks of evo/ptu.
Good stuff! Looking forward to this update getting to PU!
Hmm so I have a C2 and will have huge hanger... AWESOME. I guess that means I will be able to launch the Cutter from said huge hanger... SWEET. Soo when the Cutter comes back to home world I wonder if it's going to be given that same huge hanger to land in or a regular dinky one that I have to squeeze mid sized ships into then call them to the personal hanger. Can't wait to find out! See ya on stream Super Mac!
Did you buy the c2 in game or with real money ? As you will only have a hangar the size of the one attached to your account. I have a c2 that I ccu'ed to , so very interested to see how this will work
@@1jbrady Hey. Yeah I traded my BMM in and bought a couple ships, got tired of waiting for it after a few years lol. Personal hangers is one thing I've been waiting for for the over 5 years I've been playing.
I really hope they fix the Carrack so the physical cargo can actually be accessed from outside the ship...
I'm looking forward to being able to just drop salvage off at the closest "station" quickly and easily and then coming back later with a cargo ship to recover it all in one shot. Waste a lot of time having to fly back to an area to sell just to make room for more salvage.
What I am really looking forward too, not that I am not looking forward to persistent/instanced hangars, is having our own apartments/homes. It would be nice to have a persistent apartment in our home location and instanced "hotel rooms" for other stations so you can take your time getting ready and, for the apartment, decorate it how you like. "Waking up" in (logging into) a room that is a mess that you didn't make does get kind of old after a while.
I´m glad to know that there is not much time left to have 3.23 (complete) but it is very difficult to wait for it to finally be LIVE
Stage 2:
Dress up dummies, portable armoury racks, missile and torpedo stands, and ship weapon racks.
Cant wait, gonna be awesome.
Finally, been waiting for a while to get this!!
Thanks for the Evo update.
I just can't wait to see all the furniture we'll be able to buy and use. I was planning to seek all to the looteable ones I could find around Stanton. Now I know I won't need so much effort for that.
For new players who only have 1 ship, there needs to be a way for them to get a larger hangar at somepoint. Either purchase a larger hanger in game or each patch it resets or something.
Very exciting news, thx for the update!
Although i am a little intimidated by the inventory changes, I am really looking forward to this patch!
Its going to be a decent update again. Like 3.23 was, and this should have been.
Still…. Its progress, which I am always happy to see. Ill jump in to 3.24 and mess around. But 4.0 on the horizon makes me so hyped for the future.
Personally, I think it's great that they're taking it to the level of having physical cargo and I'm really looking forward to the patch coming out.
I hope one day instanced hangars can move to physical hangars as well. I would love it if the stations were big enough to hold a lot of ships where you could perhaps a fly into a large station, and then land, more akin to Eve perhaps, rather all appear from behind the same small handful of doors. Large structures should be able to accommodate large amounts of traffic ideally.
We need a hover trolley that will work in space for looting ships etc, these ones seem to rely on walking / gravity
I like the idea that I can salvage parts from damaged ships and use them from my hanger.
Yeah have a saved stock of parts ready to go for certain ships...
Here we go!!
I can totally see why they changes the patch name from 3.23.2 to 3.24. Talk about a large update. I'm super excited for it to finally come out. Mind you, I am probably going to wait a week or so to play for CIG to work out all the kinks that most major patches always seem to have.
the impact of losing local inventory is devastating on loot boxes on mining outposts
Cheers, for the info mate :)
So did I get that right: Your personal hangar‘s size is based on the biggest ship that you bought with real money, and not the biggest ship that you bought ingame from grinding hard work?🤔
Yes any ship you purchase in-game will have to be called to a standard hanger. Ships purchased with real money come with a hanger that fits that ship as an in-game perk for backing the game.
they better start making a bigger hangar for my orion then because it sure as shit aint gonna fit in a carrack hangar at over 300+ meters
@@rooster1012 what if people can’t afford these huge ships like the carrack for 800$? do they just get neglected simply because they only grind ingame and don’t spend enough real money? wtf
@@elotrixelotreck your in game earned Carrack will spawn in a suitable sized instanced hangar, it will have the same exact functioning just that it won't persist decorations. A persistent hangar will only be allotted to your real money purchased ship size where you can decorate. Only the decoration persistence is the difference imo.
@@elotrixelotreck time to grind IRL to get that big ship hanger then.
Pledged to this game last week… loved it at the start. Was everything I wanted Starfield to be. Fast forward a week. I’m playing Starfield again.
I can’t get over the contracts not working. Randomly blowing up and generally not being able to actually earn money!
Personal hangars sound grest. But what I'd really like to have is a personal base or outpost. Thanks for the update, Mac!
Definitely getting myself some trolleys ;)
Also interested to see how they balance auto-loading with manual labour.
Just. WOW!
My biggest is a Reclaimer; looking forward to the mini marathon every time I spawn my Pisces Rescue 😅
Can’t wait to try 3.23.2
I have a Hornet Ghost which should be an Aero view hanger, but its an upgrade from a LTI Pulse so still shows the hangar as self land. Will they be giving proper hangars for upgraded ships? Or do you have to buy it outright to get the hangar?
I hope they find a good balance between realism and good gameplay, because they are removing the QOL we have now from accessing inventory from everywhere. I agree that accessing it magically was not the best option, but I also hope the new system doesn't increase the prep time too much.
The build is looking fun, can't wait for the hangars
Does the hull c now unload to ur invetory at spacestations and u can pull the cargo to a elevator?
Yes! Finally! (Well, finally to Evo...I'll say it again when I finally get my hands on it.) I don't mind waiting; really looking forward to anything cargo. Woohoo!
is this available in Public test server or live i wanna see some of this first hand
324 looks awesome. can't wait till its out!
With all the cargo we all lost so far i wonder why i should risk transporting my items like this. Now we have the option not just to loose our freight due to a disconnect or crash but even more important stuff... Before there is a system in place that works to prevent us from loosing everything due to a technical issue - no way i will use this transport feature. The personal hangars are great - now we just need a working rule set for players in a Party / Org. and the ability to expand those rules to ships so friends can take full control of others ships for selling/buying goods, refine mined ores etc. ... would be great - likely will never come since this would plummet ship sales.
Again, Thanks for this very good news :-) SMB
How does this affect ship components? If i want to buy a new QTDrive, will I be able to put my previous one in a ship physically, or move it in a container?
This is good. If as you say we will spend some time in hanger, and said hangers don't crash or kick you out. That would make the overall experience less buggy and experimental feeling. I'm sure we will have bugs at first, however in the long run things will get interesting.
Hope the time for automated loading is not to high
How should i understand the size of the ship? the biggest ship i bought in the pledge store would be the c2 starlifter (and the Ironclad IC) in my case. and ingame for aUEC i have bought everything you can buy including reclaimer and 890 jump. so i would have to get a hangar of a cathedral to fit the 890 blue whale. if they do a wipe now, the hangar would have to be downgraded to the size of the relatively tiny c2 hercules.
Do the hangars actually have a place to live or a relaxed corner where you can set up your aquarium and the pluschies?
We need a portable power washer! i'd like to also be able to spray paint my ship.... =D
Im sorry, was there any way to get a larger personal hanger?
How does personal hangers work, there are only so many exits from a landing zone, what if everyones taking up one of a certain size?
I am looking forward for hangers!
I've been waiting to be able to turn my pisces into a drop ship by adding extra seats in the bay
thank's
You stated your instanced hanger size will be based on the current largest ship you own (that's flight ready) but that if you buy a larger one in-game the Hanger size doesn't increase. I'm curious then how that will be addressed and if you buy a larger ship on the site, does your instanced hanger in-game reset or increase in size?
wait, you have to m ove inventory to a box and them move it?
Hod did stations cargo go with the Hull C type of ships?
Our guy goes full 'my cousin Vinny' when he says 'cargo' lol😂😊
When do we think this goes live?
I'd love to know if this includes chained ships because original item is a cutter but upgraded to a bigger ships i wonder if we get a bigger personal hanger?
If you have a concept ship, does it give you a hangar on that ships size or only ships you have right now?
Everyone wants that clarified. The word “flyable” is being thrown around.
i wish the devs would go and watch a truck being loaded and see how long it takes to load them
I am hoping they remove the idle time out from being logged in as well.
can't wait for these hangers, no more stress about being impounded 🤣
Oh, and what happens if you come into the hanger and are not perfectly on the elevator? Will your wings clip the edge and flip your ship when it tries to store?
the auto-loading is crazy, to auto load a freelancer MAX, it takes 1hour, to load a C2 however, it needs 5 hours. 5 mins is understandable, 10 mins is already too long, 5 hours?! seriously? so cargo transporter = prison time?!
plus, un-invited player can get into your hunger and will be kicked out in a 2 mins, but the thing is, un-invited player can use your computer panel within your hunger to open THEIR inventory, so in 2 mins he/she can steal so many of your things and save into their inventory. 7 seconds, un-invited should be kick out in less than 7 seconds. what are CIG thinking, 2 mins?!
I'm now worried though, if other players can get into your hanger can they steal things, break things, move things before the timer expires and yoinks them out?
We love you
Im honestly really looking forward to the inventory change, it'll suck manually loading the big ships like the C2 or Caterpillar 😂 but in a odd way it'll be fun especially with friends, also adds a extra layer of concern with being cautious with your cargo. Dont want to spend an hour loading just to lose it because you left cruise control on and smacked into the hangar wall somewhere 😂
Plus the change to move away from the current "Magical Personal Inventory" will be nice, no more pressing I to become fully kitted anywhere in the city or store stuff. Adds a small but refreshing layer of realism.
Im most of all looking forward to being able to load ground vehicles into my ships off the cargo elevator now! Ive avoided that for so long just because i dont like having to call a ship to fly elsewhere JUST to load my Ursa or Cyclone 😂
Cant wait to decorate my hangar, or join friends parties in-game and leave a couple hundred penguins all around their hangar 👀
Love the build. We've experienced a lot worse evo builds in the past. Definitely going to be an amazing patch once the bugs are worked out.
I can see some shanagans coming with the trollies
With each new patch, what will happen to the customizations made in the individual hangars? Will they be reset?
Still hoping that personal hangars will be upgradable in size! Not much use for a Titan size hangar
I want to know if they fixed the bug that causes things to just disappear while you are moving them with a tractor beam.
Hopefully they fix salvage missions as currently they are only spawning arrows on the lower side.
But for hangers hopefully we can put tv’s and watch the videos SC has released over time
Do space plates it’s better and you don’t have to pay but dose take some getting use to finding them
Will we have a full wipe when 3.24 comes out?
Hope it goes live early July
Anyone heard how long it takes to load/unload automatically?
I hope this game introduces storage trailers for missiles, torpedo bombs, and other spare ship weapons. Can't stand dealing with jumbled stacks of ordnance
hopefully they will make it so it updates your biggest ships after purchasing to give you the bigger hangar.
Wait wait wait wait.
They said you'd be allocated a hangar based on your largest ship. Considering most of us have a lot of large ships or loanables until concepts are completed
How will that gonna fare when we leave stations like New Babbage etc where there are few Large hangars but tonnes of small ones
How are they gonna manage this for the masses in the PU?
All are instanced, and multiple hangars exist underneath each hangar door.
@@ericwollaston5654 So if 2, 3, or 5 Reclaimers try to leave at the same time, they will... ? Not collide with each other? There's only like 4 or 5 exit points for large ships.
@LeonLeybs666 No, I'm not in so cannot confirm, but likely your call to take off will be "Stand By for approval" until things are clear for take off.
@@ericwollaston5654 this is my concern. With more populated areas and with how long some folk take to land or take off. It could take an age just to leave hangars in some locations.
@CallousCyclone Shouldn't be too much of a concern. People can sit as long as they want and won't tie up the ability for others to access their own hangars. A timed gate of taking off or landing until the door closes and resets will solve any extenuating problems for the most part
Hope they bring bennys machine back, need that in my hangar.
Can't wait to see a hangar again. Hopefully we will have the ability to restore lost items that are in your account. I never wear my subscribers gear cause gets no way to get it back.
That is coming Later
Hangar size being based on account bought ships feels like a disappointment. Although maybe it's to make sure they get a bigger variety of hangar sizes tested for now.
3.24 is going to be amazing.Let's hope they iron it out soon.
definitely an interesting update
I understand that the game is in alpha, hence the horrible performance optimization / fps. However I feel like if they fix that, the game will explode in popularity even in it's alpha state.
Hopefully it will get to the PU quickly.
Gonna be a good few weeks with the changes that are being implemented, unless things go super smooth, which they never do lol
This patch sounds epic, and I can't wait to get to try it out mess around with the freight elevators and decorate my hangar with the lifeless bodies of my NPC victims!
I had very low expectations for this patch. But seeing the positive comments from some Evocati players makes me feel hopeful again. Of course, you have to be careful with expectations when it comes to Star Citizen. Still, the described mechanics and the changes in the gameplay cycle are exciting. I can't wait for it to go live on the PU.
