Thanks for the review, very calming voice and well presented. I've just purchased a refurbished X1 Carbon with the i5 and the FHD panel - so lower spec, but an additional 2 hours or battery life. In Germany these machines go for around 300€ 👍

@@Milka-br1xw Yes, easily worth it! I got mine for $266, and my x1 came with 94% battery health(very lucky maybe), I was expecting to spend more to buy another battery as that's a big factor of battery life. I will say that it tends to get decently hot, probably could be used on your lap for a bit but not long durations. Extremely lightweight. Just keep browsing eBay for the x1 carbon and the generation you're looking for. Might be able to get the 7 for the same price now. I've been using it for vs code&pycharm and I can use sunshine / moonlight for portable gaming by connecting to my home pc

    • @sunnydayz77

Hi. Make sure you are in a relatively cool room and that your air vents are not dusty. Also is your laptop clutter free. If there are lot of files that are not deleted and clog the hard drive that also could cause heating. Other than that lot of browser tabs open could also cause it. I usually format my laptop once a year or once every 8 months to keep it fresh and clutter free. Hope this helps 😊

Hi Josh. I tried using Da Vinci Resolv and I could just about edit in 1080p. But it was not a smooth experience with occasional stutters etc. You can edit with a lot of settings tweaked but this laptop is not meant for it. It’s a thin and light business laptop. Also the battery would have degraded over the years. But if you care only for the light weight, Keyboard and overall user experience then nothing comes close to the X1 carbon. It's like a vintage sports car. Will run fast but it is still a bit old. It is quite relevant today but again not for gaming and GPU intensive applications. Hi Randy. You can do really simple gaming. I tried valorant on it. But had to run in on very low settings and the experience was quite choppy. Also for graphic design and website development you could probably get by but I would not recommend it especially if it’s your only laptop and your work depends on it. Nowadays you get lighter options like the Asus vivobook slim series which has a discrete GPU and is also not too bulky. I have used and reviewed an Asus zenbook Oled on my channel. It was a replacement to my Thinkpad x1 carbon. I use it only for daily work and office use. For editing and music production I use a MacBook Pro. But if you want to use just one laptop for everything then you must look at a thin and light with discrete graphics like the ASUS I mentioned or you could also go the Apple MacBook route. The M series MacBooks … even the M1 MacBook Air is pretty powerful. I have reviewed that too on my channel.

No. I think you can only insert a SIM card in the slot.

They are good. Nothing spectacular but does the job well. Bass is lacking in the sound but the audio is quite clear and loud. Good for Zoom Calls and binge watching.

@@nantes9807 hi Nantes. Personally I haven't tried using 2 ssds and you also need to check if it would be possible to do so. I guess it is. So I can't really comment on this. Sorry 🙏

Only problem is soldered ram. I brought t480 and upgrades to 64 GM ram. Moreover, this laptop looks very girly and skinny.

Hi. Yes you are right. Ram should have been upgradeable. Regarding looks I thought tot looked quite sleek and good. Not girly at all.
