Each of Metagross' arms is a Beldum actually, so it does kinda make sense for it to be in the multiple faces category.

The “bug wings” category is supposed to be a “four or more wings” category, which is why crobat isn’t with zubat or golbat. And also why the ladybug Pokémon are in birdwing (two-winged) category.
Didn't think of that, I thought maybe the reason why the ladybug Pokemon are in the latter category is because they are also called ladybirds.
I was about to comment this
Ladyba and Ledian should still be with bugs
I figured that out too
Cillian Stewart I agree, the ladybug and other beetles’ “wing-shell” part looks like a second pair of wings anyway.

Bulbapedia describes the Wobbuffet category as "head with a base", so that definitely explains certain pokémon like Vanillite or Cradily being there.
I'm sitting here thinking that the wobbuffet category is supposed to be for pokemon that have to hop around to move.
If that's true then Meltan should be in it though
@@ZeakaXorrFitchusThen what about Spoink?
@@juliamavroidi8601 Spoink bounces.
the reason for the crobat line split is because unlike zubat and golbat which only have two wings crobat has four and the categories aren't about the shape of the wings they're about the number of wings which is why ladyba and ledian are also in the two winged category
Yeah, that seems like what they were going for, except frosmoth definitely has 2, and ribombee is literally based on a dipteran, but they're all lumped in with butterfree and vivillon and all them.
I was about to question kricketune, but I looked it up and it turns out it has 4 wings under its elytra, so it does fit. And also is technically a 6-winged insect, weirdly. Guess that's the same with volcarona.
Actually it's Miscellaneous Wings vs Normal Wings. Multiple wings counts as Miscellaneous. Because plenty of Pokemon with only two wings were in miscellaneous.

Imagine in some spinoff Pokemon game, there's a mechanic where depending on your Pokemon's shape, it can do exclusive things. (Like Ball shapes can roll into different spaces, multi legged can crawl up walls, Humanoid can disguise themselves as humans., Ect.) I actually have a game idea for a spinoff involving this.

I’m super late to the party here, but I’m 90% sure the “4 legged good bois” category is looking at the pokemon’s “preferred” movement. Like with pikachu/pachirisu/gunshoos etc they actually tend to run on all fours and stand up on two when battling.
I’d still say cinccino and the buizel line dont make sense, but it explains the others pretty well
I mean you can look at all of those and say that those front limbs are definitely not arms, they're still legs while the pokemon may prefer to stay on it's hind legs or has over time learned to use them like arms a little bit. Example: Eevee is definitely 4 legged but it's seen holding a cup in the anime.
Cinccino and buizel run on all four in the anime. Don't know why Raichu isn't because while yes, it walks on its hind legs, but runs on all fours, but Pikachu does the same thing just look at Smash. It really doesn't make a ton of sense
krocorok and beartic don’t make much sense to me in the four legged category either im not sure if i just haven’t consumed pokemon media to see them on all fours or what
@@kavaler1471 Well crocodiles and bears do run on four legs so maybe they do
The Four legged Category Is Not Them Being On All Fours But The Category Is Actually The Animal Category
A lot of comments state that the bug wings one is multiple sets of wings and the bird/dragon wings one is one set of wings but I haven’t seen much of the quadruped category. The pokemon in that category are pokemon that run on 4 legs, so even though pikachu and floatzel stand on 2, they run on all fours because their arms and legs are too small to run on 2.
But what about Tirtouga?
Is it because it can go on land?
It looks to me like the “bug wing” is multi winged and the “dragon wing” is single winged
Salamence should have been in a winged category. Mega Salamence is ALL WING!
But then there's Frostmoth in the multi winged....
@@emilstoqanov3270 maybe the shape of its wing makes them look kinda like 4 wings???????????
Emil Stoqanov butterfly and moth wings look like one set of wings but they're actually two. All insects have multiple wings save for beetles and flies which have evolved to use their second set of wings for different purposes
Thank you for pointing this out, it was triggering to me when he kept complaining about bugs being in the “dragon wing” category and I was just like “it’s single wing and multi wing!!!”

I think the doge catagory is more like the mammal catagory.
Also Necrozma has legs.
Bulbasaur
I think the Sandygast line is in a similar situation to Mimikyu, in that it doesn’t really look the way it does as it is either possessing something else or covering itself up. This would explain why they’re in wormy boys because it could also be interpreted as a shadow, which is my personal best guess as to how a ghosty spirit possessing sort of Pokémon would appear
Ur forgetting Sobble STANDS on its two legs but when it walks or runs it is a chameleon so it goes on all 4s.

@@BluEatsNuggets I thought it was so weird and kinda hypocritical he glossed over krokorok and complained about pokemon that do go four legged sometimes
As far as I can tell with the Wobbuffet category, its pokemon that fit into multiple categories? Like some have tentacles but also 4 legs or 2 wings but are blob shaped. Just my best guess.
The “Wobbuffet” category is for Pokémon with a base that’s not like traditional legs.
Oh, that makes much more sense now
He kinda said something similar but you made it more clear
more like a bottleneck cattegory

25:25 is he just gonna ignore nexrosma?
I've literally always thought the "search by shape" feature was entirely useless, because it's essentially random where the pokemon you are looking for will actually be. It's never what you would guess the first time.
Its still cool to see how pokemon are canonicaly sorted like animals
They just need to sort them better and use more consistent icons.

Mike: all these Pokémon’s limbs are fins
Quilfish: does a tail count?
Well, it's a tailfin
tailfins exist
Oh ok your right
Tail fins aren't limbs right?
Apparently so
The “worm” category is for Pokémon who slide, slither, or fly like serpents. A lot of the symbols describe the functionality much more than the appearance
Rewatching this I think I understand something about the "4 legged" category. I believe it's just how they walk. Gumshoos and Pikachu for example mostly walk/run on all fours in the anime
I just noticed, the inside of shellder looks exactly like the “Bean” shape, could that be what shellder looks like?
When i was younger, i thought Shellder is a prevolution of Gastly
When camping, salazzle walks and runs on all fours like a nightmare creature
Also I just learned this in a course the other day: many creatures aren't exclusively bipedal or quadrupedal, including humans, surprisingly. There are animals that spend most of their time on all fours but are capable of spending time on their hind legs, which are called facultative bipeds (like bears), and the reverse - mostly bipeds but sometimes quadrupeds - are facultative quadrupeds; humans are considered the latter because as babies, we walk/crawl/drag ourselves on all fours before learning to stand and walk upright.
thanks, now I can tell people this as I crawl around walmart.
Now all I can imagine is a grizzly bear chasing a man,but instead of running on all fours it's running like a human would. Honestly, that thought is more horrifying than hearing (doo-doo doo-doo doo-doo) with your last pokemon.
@@manulstrider Lol
Yep. Hence why Pikachu and Pichu are given as quadrupeds (they can walk and tend to sit back on their hind legs, but mostly move around on all 4s) but Raichu is a tailed bipedal.
the "bugs with wings" category I think is just "Winged bugs and multi-winged creatures" and the dragon/bird wing category are pokemon with one pair of wings and tend to not be bugs.
