@@elijahlorenzo6363 It makes levelling boring and the games super easy. Nowadays people like me, who want a challenge, can't have a fun one in Pokemon games. The only actually challenging one I can think of is a Nuzlocke, but those give anxiety. Pokemon games are really easy, 95% of their players actually *grind* in Pokemon games, something that has *never* been required. I found a ROM hack called Rutile Ruby and Star Sapphire, they give the kind of challenge I want.
I had no idea Role Play was a move until some random Kadabra used it during my Sapphire Nuzlocke. @Harry Haywood it weakens the effects of electric moves, which isn't _inherently_ useless, until you realize that 90% of the pokemon who can learn it are ground types
@@xatuyou8045 it can, that's true! however, if you have a mon who knows mud sport, and you're in a situation where there's electric type attacks to weaken in the first place, you're probably better served by just attacking outright-double battles are rare outside of competitive, and again, most of the pokemon that learn it are ground types. there are situations where its use might be relevant, but they're so niche as to be effectively negligible, especially when considering how many better avenues of approach there are. why have your mudsdale spend its turn covering your gyarados' weakness when you could just swap it out for a less vulnerable mon? or just remove the electric type threat in the first place? or have the threatened mon boost its own defenses with a more widely-applicable move? it's not useless, per se, but it might as well be pointless considering how easily its application is made redundant
until you Rember it was released in a gen were the spe/phy split was not a thing and normal was all physical including hyperbeem witch has the recharge on the turn were the user is loffing :)
Slakoth can learn sunny day at level 13, so at least you wouldn't have to wait for a drought to use solar beam. Although I suppose the flip side is that you have to use an extra turn to use sunny day first.🙄
Here’s a strategy I learned from Piers: Give a Malamar with the Contrary the move Superpower. Contrary is an ability that have the opposite effect of whatever stat change you give it. Superpower usually would lower Attack and Defense, but with a Contrary Malamar, it raises it Attack and Defense instead. Life lesson for you today people. You’re welcome.
Corrections: Shadow Tag does not work on other pokemon with Shadow Tag, but Mean Look does! Therefore, if you're facing a Shadow Tag pokemon, you can still trap it using Mean Look. If a pokemon with a super-weather ability faints or is switched out, that super-weather disappears, but other super-weathers aren't set up automatically, therefore allowing a super-weather-pokemon to be on the field without a super-weather, which allows Sunny Day or Rain Dance to be used.
@@capitald4426 Oh, my bad. It's because in other games it's usually health points, so i thought it would be health points in pokemon too. Thanks for letting me know!
There is something I love about Shedinja. It has some Defense and Sp.Defense stats. Which are useless when you have 1 HP. Therefore its base stats total is quite a lie.
These stats are for the purpose of Transform. Its Defense would also help if it uses Body Press. Though I do not think it can use that move, also not sure if it can use it through Mimic/Copycat/other similar moves.
There are moves like transform or guard swap that actually make Def/spdef matter, hence why it doesn't just have 1/1/1 + offense/speed. HP is ok since the guard swaps don't care about HP and transform doesn't take HP into account.
You should do an opposite of this next, like what Moves are amazing with a specific poémon, like Burn Up on Arcanine, Arcanine loses its fire-type making it "typeless" giving it no weakness.
There's a disadvantage to Burn Up on fire types. They will no longer get STAB from fire type moves, reducing those moves' power to 2/3 of their usual power with STAB.
Fun fact, Air Lock still removes the effects of super weather so you can still kill a primal groudon with rayquaza(or Golduck with Cloudnine) with a water type move
Michael: *Umbreon can’t use Synchronoise* Floor Tentacles: *Dark Type* Umbreon: *Only having Synchronoise* THE FLOOR TENTACLES ARE STILL DROWNING ME!!!!
Some of them technically do have genders but due to lack of research on them, their gender is actually unknown. This is pretty much the case with most of the legendaries. They probably do have a gender but the reasoning behind it not being there is due to lack of understanding and research of the pokemon since it's rare. Others clearly have no gender at all for obvious reasons since animate objects have no genders
I got one: Deoxys speed (and only Deoxys speed) , learns agility It already outspeeds everything, so why does it need agility Especially when the other lv. 55 moves are cosmic power (normal and attack), or Iron defense and amnesia (defence), moves that actually benefit them Edit: yes, I know that agility and string shot are a thing that other pokemon can learn
@@danielnice5213 That's fair, I might test that to see. Though it would make sense if Run Away had priority. Edit: Run Away has priority! If you're facing a Shadow Tag opponent in the wild, Run Away will allow you to successfully flee!
You know; Final Gambit on Shedinja is less useless in gen 8 since if you dynamax it becomes Max Knuckle and can give the attack boost. Of course; you are wasting your dynamax on a shedinja; but it would at least do decent damage.
J B substitute deals 25% of the users hp, shedinja has 1 hp, therefore shedinja will instantly die when he uses it. As for rest I’m assuming they just had insomnia or something
@ 8:38 In his X Wedlocke Marriland had a Shiny Slurpuff he named Cocoa. He used her on his team after one of his Pokémon died in the Double Battle outside Reflection Cave. In Reflection Cave when battling the Black Belt that has Sawk, Marriland became concerned due to how much damage Cocoa was taking from Sawk’s Retaliate. He tried using Rest to heal Cocoa, but of course, this didn’t work as Cocoa had Sweet Veil as her Ability.
I was speeding up the game so Role Play just kind of popped up on the text box for a few seconds and then my Flygon killed the Kadabra. So I didn't get a chance to find out what it does until I saw this video and you explained it so that helped!

My mind when I saw the title - " Mud Sport"
PFFFBSHDGFHSGMFS AHAHA
@Harry Haywood it lowers the effects of electric type moves i think
@Harry Haywood it weakens the effects of electric moves, which isn't _inherently_ useless, until you realize that 90% of the pokemon who can learn it are ground types
@@AB-gh5be it can protect your other Pokémon though.
I am always happy when Norman has pokemon that has the ability where his slacking (I probably spelled it wrong) can’t use a move twice in a row 😊
until you Rember it was released in a gen were the spe/phy split was not a thing and normal was all physical including hyperbeem witch has the recharge on the turn were the user is loffing :)
Slakoth can learn sunny day at level 13, so at least you wouldn't have to wait for a drought to use solar beam.
Although I suppose the flip side is that you have to use an extra turn to use sunny day first.🙄
cryogonal: attract
mew: attract
what
Cryogonal's hot
Suraj Sood it’s pretty cool actually

Here’s a strategy I learned from Piers:
Give a Malamar with the Contrary the move Superpower. Contrary is an ability that have the opposite effect of whatever stat change you give it. Superpower usually would lower Attack and Defense, but with a Contrary Malamar, it raises it Attack and Defense instead. Life lesson for you today people. You’re welcome.
Libra Werewolf that strategy is ancient lol
Lilbro291 Gaming: Oh... I guess I’m uncultured...
Everyone knows this strategy. Serperior with Contrary and leaf storm does the same thing but with Special attack
@@librawerewolf103 its a viable strategy, just very, VERY old

*nani
Lol how did he forget splash
Mario kart player 200 it prevents the trainer from switching, so it still does something. (Something that can be semi useful in certain situations)
It's situations where moves are useless, not useless moves like that...
Corrections:
Shadow Tag does not work on other pokemon with Shadow Tag, but Mean Look does!

@@geometryemperor they also apply for Guard Swap and the potential that you baton pass Shedinja behind a Subtitute

Genderless pokemon: I just want to be in love why I can't be happy
Me: aww don't be sad is not your fault that you have no gender
Well... yes.

Your watching this too?
Well, I love your animations!
I got one:
Deoxys speed (and only Deoxys speed) , learns agility
It already outspeeds everything, so why does it need agility
Especially when the other lv. 55 moves are cosmic power (normal and attack), or Iron defense and amnesia (defence), moves that actually benefit them
Edit: yes, I know that agility and string shot are a thing that other pokemon can learn
If the opponent has scarf, its own speed buffs, Deoxys is slowed, and many other possible things.
Vikavolt sticky web and other pokemon can have boosted speed stats
He's ignoring stat lowers or boosts
the point of the video is moves that do literally nothing. Even if it's pointless, Agility still boosts the speed stat, so it still does SOMETHING...
There are sticky weeks choice scarfs moves that lower your speed so it's not completely useless

6:54 Shedinja's entry is always useless, it is not dependant on type or ability, but by base HP
It’s actually a really comedic moment that Marriland even laughed about for not realizing what was wrong.
