- This product information video demonstrates how to connect an Android device to a 2017 KENWOOD multimedia receiver for use with the new KENWOOD Remote App.
Updated Procedure: Close out the KENWOOD Remote App if it is open on your Android. Then, pair your phone via BT to the receiver. After that, go to the Standby source on the receiver, then change the Remote App connection type to Android. Next, change the source on the receiver to BT Audio. Then launch the KENWOOD Remote App from your Android device. The app should change from displaying Media Player to BT Audio. The video method should work, but since producing the video, there have been updates to the app to simplify the process.

So I have the Kenwood DDX9705S is the a remote app for my receiver
Can I control the songs via the kenwood deck this way? So once it's loaded via app use the touch screen on the deck to hit the next song etc?
A little confused, but why would you need to use your phone to control the head unit, when the head unit is touch screen and you have the ability to skip, play, pause etc.
It's an added convenience feature simular to a handheld remote. Thanks!

Someone just gifted me old kenwood ddx23bt model. It was working completely fine until I updated it to latest application firmware on kenwood website i.e V0.0.142. I followed all the instructions carefully but post update the bluetooth feature is not working. It keeps sending connection key on my phone, once I accept that then it again sends another key. Also, if I try to connect any other phone, once I click on the device name the phone sends error message that the device is not in range.
It is only reflecting the phone which was connected before the update. I tried updating the firmware again for like 30 times. Everything works fine except bluetooth feature.
Please suggest what could be done.

This question isnt related to the video. I have a Kenwood DDX672BH.This unit has the Pandora app on it. Until my phone (Samsung galaxy S7) updated to 8.0.0 oreo. It connected to my phones Pandora app flawlessly. Now it just reads disconnected but when I select the bluetooth source my phone connects. It just wont connect to the Pandora app source on the Kenwood end.
Is this an android problem or outdated bluetooth firmware problem on my Kenwood? Please help. It was so convenient controlling Pandora from the head unit and steering wheel controls. It was my favorite feature on this Kenwood. I have contacted Pandora but they just had me go through the motions of clearing data, or uninstalling app, blah blah.
Cant get a clear answer in android forums either.
We have had the issue reported on the last few versions of the Pandora app itself and our working with them on a solution.

No, unfortunately this was a new feature on models beginning in 2017.
@@KenwoodUSA android 10 a forced update does not allow this kenwood remote app to work anymore. Searched several nothing works. Please update to allow android 10 please . My phone used to work on my head unit now it doesn't.

I have a Kenwood dbx375bt I cannot figure out how to use the kenwood audio,also my spotify will play through the app on the unit but it will say connecting,it will never load the art or song names please help me with these 2 problems
Jason: What specifically can you not figure out in regards to the audio? As for the Spotify app, f the current version of the Spotify app is displaying Connecting on the receiver's Spotify source, use the receivers BT Audio source instead, checking again with future versions of the Spotify app.
I figured the spotify out I have to got to the apps button to get to the apps then press the spotify button ,I just did a firmware update tonight I haven't gotten to mess around with it so far,could you please tell me what kind of kenwood sub would fit under my seat 2006 f250 supercab,I want a Mico sub amplified, or should I keep saving a little more and get the new jl audio microsub amplified 8w3

The USB input cord comes from the back of these receivers.

For the DMX9706S, you need a different app: KENWOOD Remote S App.

Unfortunately this was a feature that debuted the following year after that model was released.

Eric, can you elaborate on what you are having an issue with? What phone are you using? Is the software up to date on the receiver and the phone? Does you're phone show up on the list of BT devices? Thanks
@@KenwoodUSA galaxy s10, it tells me the software is out of date and then does nothing to update it, since the first day I've gotten this radio i haven't been able to connect it in any way where it would be able to update but my phone is up to date unless you guys just haven't been updating your apps... my phone sows up on the list just fine other then sometimes it wont read any info from my phone but this radio has done that with every phone I've ever hooked up to it

Can i display apps like waze or google maps from my phone to my kenwood ddx774bh also?
You could use the KENWOOD CA-C3AV audio/video input cable along with the appropriate output cables/methods from your specific phone to display this on the AV Input source, keeping in mind you would need to control the apps from the phone itself.

@@MrMcGiblets1 By using the aforementioned cable, you could display the maps on your screen, but you would only have touch control from your phone. You would simply hear the sound and see the phone's display from the receiver. This also requires the parking brake to be engaged, so would recommend one of our Apple CarPlay or Android Auto ready receivers for this function.
