If you want a handheld remote for this unit you better get them quick because they may be discontinued now that Kenwood has this cell phone app version of a remote. I like a remote with physically raised buttons instead of the phone app because I want to keep my eyes on the road. I memorize the buttons so I can use the remote without having to look at the head unit screen and trying to press icons on the screen when switching around SiriusXM channels. The remote for this model, per the manual, is Kenwood KNA-RCDV331.
My gramma's 1964 Chevy Impala station wagon came with a transistorized AM radio with one factory speaker in the dashboard. I was there when she picked it up from the dealer. If I saw this video back then I would have thought it came from space aliens.
I just bought the DDX395 and back up cam for my 1989 GMC van so I can use the phone while speeding. I'm here to see how to set it up. BTW...the 64 wagon sits in a dark garage and only has 32,000 original miles on it. It probably needs tires and a battery as it was last run 1973. The Kenwood won't fit in the dash.....
What about using steering wheel controls??

Tim datoolman thanks its all him, this one also has an app for control. It works from an iPad, so it may be a contender. We did not show the app yet, because it is still very bad. Kenwood has told me an update is coming, so when it does we will have a video.

Ive got this unit trying to install a front veiw camera can you please give some help doing this. Is the cam button the trigger wire ? And where do I get power from ? I currently have it set the key switch but its on all the time .... need help......

What's the difference between the 395 and the 394?
I have been having a lot of problems with the Bluetooth calling it switches back to the phone from the radio. And when I try switch back to the mic it won't work. I have to hang up and try back. It was very intermittent at first but now it's becoming more frequent. Super annoying. I'm about to send it back. Have you heard of this problem with any other DDX 394. Also I did get a slight hum but it doesn't go up and down with throttle when the car is on. When I shut the engine off it seems to be a little less loud. I do you have a JL 280 hx four channel running to the front and rear. That Hum might be coming from amp. What do you think?
TheWilliam1122 before sending it back make sure the software in the radio is up to date. Yes the hum might be the amp, the gains may be up to high.

I have a flip down dvd player. I want to connect it to my new Kenwood ddx395 video and audio. I have a amplifier and subs also, that I want to hear when watching movies. Question, can I play both head unit dvd and overhead dvd same movie? Can you please tell me how to connect the two together. There is no RUclips video on that. Thank you. Oh also I ordered a back up camera. I don't know how to install that either

Great video. Just got this for my chevy silverado. Have a question for you. Have you come across this. When i get into the truck no matter what the source is on it automatically jumps over to iphone bluetooth music (music stored on phone). Is there any way to stop the source jumping automatically. The second one i have is while im listening to sirius and i switch sources over to general radio for a few seconds it goes back to sirius until stereo at the bottom screen kicks on. Thanks

This unit Has 2 Features: Auto Connect (connection is automatically established with the last connected Bluetooth device when the unit is turned on) & Auto Pairing (Establishes Bluetooth pairing automatically when iOS device is connected to iPod USB Port on unit; occurs even if the Bluetooth function is deactivated on the device). Both features can be disabled from the Bluetooth Setup screen.
Great Vid, thanks for the info...BUT....Does it display a Graphic EQ while playing music!? All I want is a replacement to my old Kenwood KDC-MP922..UGG Why cant anyone make a good graphic eq anymore? Nothing says "Bitchin" like a full screen graphic eq dancing to your music at night....ALso, Do you know where I might find someone to repair the ribbon cable on my Kenwood KDC-MP922?

At 5:50 when you start talking about the ipod setup you keep saying Phone . I have a i pod and its not a phone its just a device that plays music . In the usb + av-in setting will you explain what that is and why you would use it . you just skipped right over it and didn't even push the button . What is AV-in ? I only have 2 places to plug thing into my ipod one is at the bottom and when you plug it in there it will play over the radio .the other connection is the auxiliary output for headphones or to connect to radio . Is the usb + AV-in setting for when you want to connect the wire from the auxiliary output of the ipod or your phones auxiliary output to the radio and use the usb connection as a charger for the phone or ipod ?
steve dental depending on your iPod, if it has a lightning cable or older 30 pin cable, there is 2 ways to set up the radio. If you have a lightning cable you select USB. This will give you full control and sound off your iPod. It will also give you an Aux input to play any device from. If you have an older 30 pin cable you select USB+aux. You will also need a Kenwood cable that has a USB and aux cable run together. This will give you control sound and videos. If you have no videos and a 30 pin cable you can select USB. You will get sound and control and a free Aux input. Hope this helps

Thanks for answering my questions . I have one more question If I have 2 tweeters in the dash and 1 speaker in each door 4 doors and 1 sub woofer in the center console Its a 1997 lexus lx450 . When I plug in the radio will all the speaker work? There is a amp behind the clove box but I don't know if the connections go to the amp or not when this new radio is connected . Here is why I'm asking In my suv there are 2 gray plugins that the new wiring harness plugs into that are not in use with the old radio. the old factory radio is plugged into a white connector and its not used my the new radio . Would you look into my suv and see what you can find out and let me know ? does the sub woofer connect into the back of the new radio in another connection port separate from the wiring harness plugins ?
steve dental kac-ip22f cable for iPod. You are more then likely going to have to bypass the factory amp. When doing so you will not have power for the sub. You will need a small amp to power it back up.
do you know if this will fit in an 06 silverado?
Just picked up this head unit would it be able to push 2 jl audio tr690-txi 6x9 and two 6.5 of the same model jl audio speakers or would it be better to pick up an amp the speakers are rated 120w each 60 rms?

This unit carries 50 Watts x 4 (More power then the usual car radio). Its to your discretion.

i have a iphone 6 and i am looking for a new double din to get with this feature.. my old pioneer 4100 does not do this nor does is support my iphone 6
specialformula14 so when you are playing the phone as an iPod over USB, you can not scrub forward, correct. Just making sure so I can test to make sure.
correct ! i am wondering if you can scrub fast forward in new models of decks.. i was thinking of getting a new pioneer double din or kenwood DD if this feature works

This thing is the same as ddx372 ddx373 ddx374 ddx375. Or am I wrong? I didn't buy one yet but I am for sure next month. All these are on eBay. Which Kenwood should I go for. They all seem the same.
Yes they are all more or less the same. The Excelon will have a 2year warranty

well I own a pioneer avh and it has appradio function but since the note 5 doesn't support that I was looking into a new in dash that will let me use my phone more. Pandora, navigation, and other good features
Heris Yovani Mendez you are going to want to get something with Android Auto to really enjoy the full use of your phone. Check out the 9903s or the Sony ax100

steve dental yes there is the new control app, however right now it is broken. It does not work all that well and we are waiting for an update. The reason I said what I said is most people see " apps" and want to do all the apps from their phone. Since this is not the case, we try to get that point across to people thinking about getting this and thinking it will do all their apps.
I see. I'm trying my best to read all I can and watch all the videos I can before I ask you stuff . One more question does the ddx794 have the lenix dual core processor and ntsf format

no, Pioneer uses the letter "N" in the model number when they have Navi... There is a DNX394 that has Navi, Ebay has it for $920
