This all is applicable to selling ANYTHING. You must know the subject with more than a hobby interest. You want to maximize your product and get the best that the market will bear. If you don't want to learn your product to sell then find someone you trust to help you. Great stuff Daniel.
The problem is people do and will continue to do everything you say not too. It is really more up to the BUYER to understand everything you've shared here. Great material!!. But buyers shouldn't just accept that seller is knowledgeable.
Yep you can tell when photos are being doctored or something is fishy. I buy from people who have long selling history's and thst I have bought from in the past. I have been burnt and it was my fault but thats how you learn!
My favorite part of watching ur videos is you don't blow smoke u anyone backside n ur straight up. So rare nowadays. Thank u Plus there is so much to learn. ..I'm trying
My typical process for selling is 1: Know exactly what I have. 2: Before I look up the price I determine the grade and always go with the more conservative grade if it's a borderline grade. 3: research book prices and ebay sold listing. 4: put the price tag at 80% of that for more desirable coins and 70% for less desirable. If it's going up in the club auction that range can be anywhere from face value for the reserve and up to 80% for certed coins.

Thank you for the informative video, Daniel. Recently, I was interested in a coin auction by a seller I see quite a lot of on Ebay. The photo's in the auction looked almost like negatives. They most likely revealed bag marks, etc., but displayed nothing in the way of luster, so I contacted him and asked him about the luster of the coin and/or whether it had been cleaned or dipped. His response to me was they handle so many coins that he didn't know, but he told me I should assume that all of his coins are cleaned or dipped. He told me he had a return policy, so if I didn't like the coin, I could send it back. -I declined to bid on the auction and don't plan on participating in any of his future auctions.
Man I absolutely love your brutal honesty and really enjoy your videos! Thanks for going against the societal grain and trying to make the world a better place!
For all ,and I mean all , people thinking about buying and/or selling coins, I would highly recommend the photo grading books. Daniel is an amazing channel. He does exactly what he claims to be talking about in the title. No click bait, no hyper fixation on some of his or their coins and no salesman BS that other channels would try to shove down your throat, anything to sell you that coin or rounds or bars. If you need dependable information he would be definitely the person to go to. But after some of his videos, I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets so busy trying to answer all of the questions then he may not always have time for you. Do not ever buy from tv ads, chances are that they are selling you hyped up coins that are overpriced and over graded. Don’t buy from you tube channels that try to sell metals based on BS SHTF (shit hits the fan) or some other kind of financial meltdown, where currencies like the dollar or euro, go down to almost nothing in terms of value. Or any other type of ARMAGEDDON where you will need gold and/or silver to make purchases. Instead study up on currency fluctuations, look up for precious metal prices and history of their highs and lows of things that you might buy to see you through the cultural disasters. At least if you learn about them you can make an educated guess on what has happened in the past and what might happen in the future and I use the word MIGHT with a bit of tongue in cheek. I mean ,don’t believe everything that you think that you “know”.

What a fantastic video, Daniel ! You tell it the way it is brother , that’s another big reason why I like watching your videos , I am always learning something and always thankful ! ❤ CB
I sell coins thru my coin club auction, which resolves a lot of these issues. This is because the guy that lists the lots in the auction does his own grading and estimated value of the coins. When I submit my coins to him, I put my idea of the grade and sometimes the estimated price also but he just uses his own opinion anyway in the listing. I trust his grading and estimates because I think he is better at it than I am. Usually, but not always, his estimated price is higher than mine, which is another reason why I trust him. Also, there is no need to take pictures of the coins because the coins are all displayed at the meeting so everyone can examine them for themselves. Seeing what coins sell for at an auction gives you a good idea of what the coins are worth. I generally get better prices for my coins thru the club auction than I would get from a dealer. Another of the many reasons to join a coin club!

Thank you so much for your honesty, knowledge, and your ability to share what I consider to be excellent advice for Great people! Daniel, please have a great day! Your friend, Tony.
I've sold a number of items (not coins) on eBay. I found out the hard way that I need to limit my words to just a couple of facts and then let the photos tell the rest of the story for me. If I did sell coins, I would say what the coin is (US dime, quarter, etc.), and year. If it is in a holder, I would mention the grade on it. A potential buyer would need to look at the pictures to determine all other details. I would simply make too many beginner errors if I described it.
Thanks great video I haven't sold anything not worried about it I like posting when I have time live collecting an can't believe the prices people put out there I go by the red book an I look up the info
At this time I don’t pan on selling my coins but if I decide to sell any I will consult with the proper companies so that I don’t say anything wrong or accidentally hurt someone monetary wise.
It was so awful for us fans of the pokemon TCG a few years ago when scalpers got really bad. I like collecting and don't like it when people just take advantage of a hobby they don't care about and makes things way harder on the ones that do.

Thanks Daniel !! Excellent points.
This made my night Thanks Daniel Go Astros🎉🎉🎉🎉
Twaskyou sr for all information
Blessings
❇️ enjoy your show about coins and money
Thanks for Your help MR Daniel God Bless
Yeah, I hate when sellers give little or no description and say, “Pictures are the description.”
Believe me I've learned alot in 2018 when I became lost 3 months durin the pandemic, I learned about books & paper 💰🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤😊😮 love Star Notes🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
Where would you sell coins graded just. Just graded coins beside ebay
At this time I don’t pan on selling my coins but if I decide to sell any I will consult with the proper companies so that I don’t say anything wrong or accidentally hurt someone monetary wise.
If you have a coin you think is valuable ,get it valued. I just started , a few months ago. I've learned sooo much. But not enough.
Good Morning Daniel!☕🎃
It was so awful for us fans of the pokemon TCG a few years ago when scalpers got really bad. I like collecting and don't like it when people just take advantage of a hobby they don't care about and makes things way harder on the ones that do.
Excellent video Daniel
All common sense reasons. Thank you for pointing out what should be obvious to all.
If I had to narrow it down even further I’d say heed #7 & #5. Great points all tho
Dan can teach a college class on coins before I even buy a coin or sell a coin I watch a couple of his videos so I don't get ripped and the buyer don't get ripped he's right we need to get rid of all these dishonest sellers I don't have enough fingers and toes to count of how many dishonest sellers I came across you don't respect the hobby like the song says Hit the Road Jack and don't come back no more great video Dan
Unfortunately, the people who need to see this aren't necessarily on You Tube. I wonder if this could be posted on all social media platforms
This is true! Ebay and place won't pay what a real valuable coin is worth.
This could all be summed up with one single concept which seems to be rapidly becoming obsolete:
Integrity - or the lack thereof.
Since 2018 I've learned about my coin collection alot,I have almost over a Hundred Coin books because of my collectin since the 1980 collectin had then in Coke -Cola tin cans , pickle jars
I have learned about the history. They mean so much more
You are the man 💪💪
Good video... Thank you
I am taking videos of my error collection so I can sell the whole thing. Coin collecting has changed a lot and so have I. I am going to sell it for 40k, it is worth far more graded but I don't have the time, love or resources for it anymore unfortunately. Never thought this day would come.
There is one guy on ebay who sells tons of morgan's and lies about grades and doctor's his images. I think we all know who he is hopefully! That being said i have bought from many great sellers on ebay!
Thank you very much
Thanks again Daniel
