Daniel, thank you so much for this new error. The famous 1955 Lincoln DDO these are not. You're absolutely right regarding common versus rare varieties. Did the Mint unknowingly send a massive amount of these errors into circulation? Quantity is the big unknown right now. Maybe a year or two from now, collectors should have a better idea of what direction this is headed. This reminds me of the early San Francisco 1970's Lincoln die doubles that flooded the market that included true DDOs. In both cases, like all machine made products, there will always be flaws. I'll keep my eyes and ears open on this nickel as time moves along. Thanks again, Jedi Numismatist Master.
It's a great information video, Daniel. I have found 3 different double dies nickel. I didn't realize that their were 53 of them so far. I will be downloading your phone app. Thank you, Daniel, for the new information. I'm always learning new things about coins from your channel. Thank you again for all you do to help people learn about the numismatic world.
Thanks Daniel !! I heard it here first ! WOW..this is great information. I didn't realize so much was going on with the 2023 Jefferson nickles. I'll be searching !
Love the enthusiasm, research and knowledge on this video Daniel. A book will be needed to cover and understand this one. Double die, Die clash, Die chips and progressions galore. If you build it, I will buy it. Thank you.
Wow. Really. What happened to quality and control? I bought the book off your site and I just downloaded your app. You really are going to keep me busy when I retire next year.😊
Great video. You are really good in explaining for all to understand. I save all of my change. I have so many coins. I doubt I’ll never find the time to search all of my change.
I have been a coin collector for some 50 years and I was looking at a 2023 P Roosevelt dime and found a error on the reverse side near the bottom of the torch below the 2 lower bands. I noticed a small crack leading into a tiny die chip. It's only a dot in size and hard to see. I not looking for a price but to inform you of this error. Good luck in finding one.
Was going through a box of nickels on this rainy day and there was only 1 bank wrapped roll in the box with very shinny Enders. Just happens to be an entire roll of non circulated mint 2023d’s… guess I have some work to do. Exciting to say the least.
The downside to this is that some dealers will sell rolls of these nickels at inflated prices. It may already be happening though I haven't checked eBay yet.
I have a full box of 2023 d OBW rolls as well as 2022 and about 12 roll of 2021 and 2020 Jefferson nickels. Idk Ive been collecting OBW rolls for a couple years know and have quite a bit of money held. Mostly quarters and half dollar Rolls.
Dan, I am sorry to ask this but could you slow down a bit and spend a little more time on examples. Also the description. If we are going to submit these to NGC we need to know how or what to write. You go really fast but that is because you show us so much content which we absolutely love. Thanks Dan❤
When the Hub is transferred to the die they are placed in a hydraulic press and positive image of the hub is PRESSED into the working die. ruclips.net/video/SkJUQWY0bFk/видео.html The US MINT even calls it a hubbing PRESS It is at this point where a slight misalignment caused a double die. Correct Again I ask are these DD caused by operator error or is something wrong with the equipment. Something is causing things to jiggle and be out of position. during the transfer process. @@CoinHELPu
Like I said, it has nothing to do with worn or broken presses. I recommend learning about how doubledies occur by watching my many videos on the subject or using doubledie.com.
All Philadelphia, of course. Those of us cursed to live in Denver mint-land are stuck with boringly perfect coins year, after year, after year. All the good quarter errors? Philly. All the good penny errors? Philly. All the good stuff to hunt for in general? Philly. Denver's quality control just makes the QA people at Philly look like a circus run by the clowns. Good for Denver...not so great for those of us stuck with 100% all new coins from Denver. It now takes years for Philly coins to filter down to us here in Arkansas. I *still* see very few Philly America the Beautiful quarters, NO American women quarters, and even finding the old Statehood quarters from Philly in circulation down here is fairly unusual. The only way I'm going to find any of the nickel errors is to buy rolls over the 'net from up in Yankee land. :(
I keep finding a buncha double die nickels an even found a die crack on the obverse of a 21 nickel an a matching 22 nickel like they both shared the same obverse die
most of them look like mechanical doubling or die deterioration and to me they're worthless specially if they're that small or hard to spot, probably a die chip may be worth more than all of them, except for a couple of them that really may be worth something.

Is it on the 22D or 22P, or both? I never see P coins up here in the Northwest.
Thank you Daniel for this information I have a unopened box now I have a good reason search it. 👍
We are always learning from you. Thank you Daniel.
I like to spend some saturdays with a box of rolls and a 12 pack. About 6 beers in I start finding lots of doubled dies. Ahhh that was a stupid joke
😂😂😂
Here is a joke for you, what is the difference between meat and fish, if you beat your fish it will die!!!! !!!!!!
@@MrStubob2 The amount of fun in getting a hook in them.
Not a stupid joke. It would take me about 12-16 before I would see the double dies though.
@@Rammshtyn Being a lightweight I can can buy less beers and more rolls therefore I find more doubled dies

Interesting video. I might have to go to the bank and pick up a dozen new rolls and sit on them for awhile.
Thanks for sharing, Daniel. 👍

GOOD DAY PODNA !
Wow I thought it was mechanical doubling on the few rolls I got months ago so I ignored them.
All right! I'll just have to go through my pocket change nickel cup to see what's there!
Yes
Hell of a statement on Mint quality control.
I don't think doubled dies are a bad thing or lack of quality. It gives people something to look for that is worth more than face value.
The downside to this is that some dealers will sell rolls of these nickels at inflated prices. It may already be happening though I haven't checked eBay yet.
I recently uploaded one I found! Excellent video Daniel. Your insight is always appreciated!
I have one where Monticello and Five cents are doubled.
I've been finding a lot of die chips, on the reverse of the 2023 nickels.
Thanks you and what is the name of the app.
A link to it is in the description.

Another something something to add to the LOOK FOR list. Hmmmmm.
So is this a new employee or is one of the mints transfer presses worn/broken?
Huh? I recommend watching the video. Doubled dies have nothing to do with worn or broken presses.
When the Hub is transferred to the die they are placed in a hydraulic press and positive image of the hub is PRESSED into the working die.

The US MINT even calls it a hubbing PRESS

I think there’s similar errors on the 2021 and 2022’s
These are die varieties.

I can help make an ai grading coin app
Good Grief 😂
For Minor doubling Not going to spend a lot of time searching, unless there's a potential to find a one of a kind 🤑
One of a kind doesn’t translate into more value.
