    Ebay is a 'cleaned coin' dumping ground. Pick your sellers carefully and make sure the 30 day return policy is in place.

      I made my living buying and selling coins for the first 4-6 years of my coin career almost exclusively using EBAY. I was buying 5-10 items per day for many years there.

      Sales & selling & sold! I’m 50+ so, not new to the online idea. I always sell with no returns personally. Definitely, I think time would be the reason for that. Personal or business for a longer idea, yes return option would be best, right? Or…? Anyway, thank you for the info & show.b✅

    Good point: "Everything (coins) is negotiable"...however, to have that opportunity to "negotiate", you have to be talking to a Decision Maker. Most ppl (at larger firms) are not "Decision Makers" and often will act as a block/gatekeeper. Thanks for the video: good stuff.

    As a buyer, Great Collections is fantastic for several reasons! First, weekly, they have more coins than Stacks/Heritage have monthly. Second, by far the best premiums. Third, they end their auctions on Sunday nights when most people are free, whereas Stacks does all of their collectors choice auctions during the workday and Heritage usually on weeknights.

    My problem with eBay is that they now report any user whose sales exceed $600 per year. So now I have to pay taxes and keep records of what I paid for something and what I sold it for… and I’m not even a business. Sure, if you’re a coin dealer, that’s fine, but for private citizens like me, eBay makes no sense… not to mention the fees, which already make selling on eBay not worth it.

    • @marianmoses9604
      @marianmoses9604 26 дней назад +1

      I 100% agree with this. Until this law is repealed, I refuse to sell more than about $400 a year worth of coins via eBay.
      I’m just a collector. Not someone trying to make a living with a coin business. A hobby ceases to be an enjoyable endeavor the moment the greedy IRS shows up with a gun in hand demanding money from you. FVCK that. 🖕🏻

    Great info guys thanks for that. I tried to auction/sell some nice coins (1893 + 1891-CC Morgan in PCGS MS65, 1914 Buffalo in PCGS Proof 65 and a few others) with Heritage at the Orlando coin show. When I heard how long it might take to get paid, I asked them if they'd make a cash offer to buy them. After he offered only $1,900 for the CC dollar (BV $4,500). I ran away fast.

    With heritage auction. I personally was informed 6. If you didn't purchase a coin from them. They wouldn't be able to sell your coin. I sent them 20 pictures of some 20 22 dimes That would graded mint 69 at the very least. But I couldn't get them to sell them for me. Once again they informed me. That if I didn't purchase the coins from them. They wouldn't sell them for me.

      They’re out there. Every dealer is different. Some love coins more for their numismatic value, some are more interested in the precious-metals aspect of the trade, and some love both. You might want to attend some coin shows; you’ll find a wide variety dealers and you’re bound to find a dealer that you can work with. There are also many honest dealers with great reputations who do business online.

    • @marianmoses9604
      @marianmoses9604 26 дней назад +2

      Seasoned numismatists with deep pockets buying genuinely rare coins are who pays those prices. But these transactions represent a very small fraction of the entire coin market. A tiny fraction of 1%, so don’t get too excited.
      The chances of a non-numismatist coming into possession of one of these very rare coins is about as close to zero as you can get.
      Rare coins is not a hobby for the ignorant novice. Knowledge is everything in this hobby and it takes many, many years to get good at it.
      Your chances of getting rich from something you found in your pocket change is about the same as hitting the lottery.
