I have kept all my change, even traded cash for coins headed to the coin machines to get paper money but ive kept them until I can go through them confidently knowing I know what exactly to look for. I'm reaching that point and agree with you! Saves time and energy when you know exactly what to look for! Thanks Daniel!
Love coin roll hunting. It's like a free miniature treasure hunt. Just yesterday I found a rotated die Kennedy half dollar, rotated approximately 165 degrees.
You are a teacher thank you sir. You also know it takes money to make money. I find myself the days one a month not live on nor send anything for a grade. Keep smiling, keep teaching and I promise you I'll get there Michael Dickson Dowden Texas
Thank you for making videos like these. I think you are one of the genuine dealers out there, that isn't afraid to educate your subscribers, or just the internet alone. Everything you said, makes 100 % sense, when you express yourself over and over again, on how we have to educate ourselves more, to understand on the why, these coins, are somewhat, possibly, could be, very valuable and why , they would be?! You explain the best, in my book, hands down, over most people., about coins and their info. So., Thanks. Got a few videos to bust out, and soak up! "A true treasure hunt" Good luck,$
My wife and I have always “collected” our coins, but never to the extent now. I have notes and notes. ABSOLUTELY love all your videos, extremely informative. And before I waste your time, gonna check out a couple websites and research some more. Before I send in pics n questions. Thank you for all the videos. Gotta leave something beautiful behind for our 5 babies when we’re gone, hopefully grand babies! Not just yet tho…. Haha
Thank you for the resources that actually help. I think for myself, (not speaking on anyone else's behalf) the reason I might go fishing without the right equipment is I believed a video I watched saying I could catch a great fish with a piece of string and a jelly bean 🥴 I'm so glad I found your channel. I feel like you actually want people to learn from your. Videos and not just get a "view". 🙏🏼
Excellent video. Thanks for making this. I am a dealer too and deal with this topic so much - people are sure they have found something when they don't even know what they are looking for.
Good morning again Sir Daniel! I didn't get to see this one yesterday! I have to watch all your videos to keep my memory going trying to remember all the information you put out! But some I watch repeatedly when I'm searching.
Oh my gosh, I so needed this! I wish I would have seen this first about six months ago! But your videos are great for beginners and thankfully I stumbled across them a couple months ago. Thank you for all the info- I appreciate the time you take to help us along.
what i have been doing [iam semi retired and have a lot of free time] is pulling out all coins in a year or mint mark i know have potentential errors and when i have a quantity go through them . a good example is i have about 300 1972p in all grades when we get a i cant go out i t is a bad weather day i will examine them . i did it with 1992d and got a couple that are almost touching i saved them and threw about 500 back. your advice is welcome and appreciated and i know it gives a lot of insight on how to make searching more rewarding i really enjoy watching your videos.
I wish I lived closer to you, in the late 50's early 60's my grandmother worked in a grocery story and she saved every wheat penny that came to her. My dad use to buy those pennies from her, my dad passed away 2 years ago and I have a 5 gallon bucket of legit unsearched wheat pennies. I tried to search them but after a couple handfulls and several headaches later I gave up.
I don't search coins for people, sorry, that takes way too much time. I suggest separating them by date and mint, then looking at PCGS price guide to determine which dates have varieties that are worth something in circulated grades. You can eliminate many of the dates and mints by doing that, so you don't waste time searching all of them.
Great video, as with anything education is key. I love how you present your information and back it up with relative resources. Being new to coin collecting, sort of, this is the type of information I need. Many of us put coins away to keep, but find anomalies is new for me. With the right information and tools it is a fun thing to do on a rainy day. Thank you for your time and expertise.
Well I'm one of the set up to fail guys. Thank goodness I found this video, I've been going crazy for 5 weeks, I'm heading to watch and to learn soon as I hit send. Thank you
I love your channel man, I’m from Chillicothe but live in Hamilton now but eventually I’m going to make my way to Portsmouth sometime to visit your shop!
Thank you that helps a lot and yes I just started so everything your saying is true and your right and the only way for us to learn is from someone like you saying the hard truth much appreciated!!!!!!
I totally agree!! I was left with a mess of coins and honestly don't trust people. So I've watched a ton of videos but that site you are referring to helped me understand so much more. I appreciate the videos alot more now due to the understanding of how and why!!
This is so helpful! My sister’s father in law is interested in coin hunting. I’m sending this to him! Thanks Daniel! I’d liken coin hunting to panning for gold- it’s fun if your panning where gold can actually be found.
Greeting Daniel another great history show that's how we learned about coins that's why I enjoy my time looking for errors or a new variety it's a passion that I have and is not a waste of time you are not going to learn about coins or history work at McDonald's thank you very much Daniel
Thank U Daniel. No I wouldn't expect the dealer 2 contact me and as well I wouldn't go back 2 where I putchased a coin. Like U said WE all need 2 do our research.
You look like you've been going through some sorta personal stress, bud.. If so, I hope it takes a turn for the better. Will send some prayers your way. We appreciate all the time you volunteer to help us out by freely sharing your experience and knowledge with us all, beginners, amateurs collectord, hobbyist, even seasoned coin hunters benefit from a trustworthy set of second eyes.
Thank you again Daniel another great informative video I will be checking out a couple more of the processes appreciate all the advice I learn something every time I'm on here.
i do my best to stress the same thing myself daniel......know the process and it answers so many questions. I havent been able to work on my channel because my mother had a stroke and i moved over the last few months to help her recover. im getting back into the hunting and hopefully i can help you spread the message more. i always give you and blueridgesilverhound props in my video postings as 2 trusted channels because of the no nonsense approach and knowledge... im proud to say with almost 500 ebay transactions i have 100% positive feedback because i dont try to pass junk off and i research if i dont know something. thanks on behalf of the community and myself brother
To each their own. I commend anyone that does this. This is not in my wheelhouse at all. I just don't do it. If you look at it long enough you'll see what you want, I'm sure. I don't have the time to look for these. To anyone who does this, my hat's off to you. Great video as always, Daniel. I give you praise to anyone or anytime anyone asks or doesn't ask. 😆
I'm one of them coin roll hunters I'm doing $1,000 bag of quarters right now. And a $200 bag of nickels. I do it at night when I'm sitting here watching TV. I've been doing this since 1979. You would be totally shocked at the amount of silver quarters I have found. I have found 102 West point quarters. Even though they're only worth between five and $8 a piece. It only cost me 25 cents. Even at $5 a piece. That's $520. Doing something enjoyable. And yes I found some fantastic error coins. If I got to use a magnifying glass to look at it I don't want it. That means the error is not that big of a deal. Thank you for your kind words that you said about us coin roll hunters. I call it adult Easter egg hunting LOL 😁
I still rack my brain every time I go through coins my only problem is double dies is the hardest till I just have to take a break come back later. Thanks for sharing 💥
Thanks Daniel !! I looked through some coins for a friend. I took my time and looked up everything everywhere on them in Wexler, Variety Vista, Copper Coins, and other sites. That took awhile. Wore my eyes out. lol For my personal, coins, I grab PCGS price guide, expand the dates as needed and go for the bigger ones. I guess Ive gotten past the minor things like BIE's, minor RPM's etc. For some, that's great if they have the time.
I think i have a top pop coin trying to figure out what to get graded. In trying to figure that out wanted to know if Lincoln cents have a FS add on like the Jefferson nickel
i have a 1982 D washington quarter.on the reverse the A has shifted over and is barely visible on top of the F.leaving the quarter to read MERICA..i cant find anything similar anywhere.
Daniel I know what you are saying it took me quite awhile to even know what a Doubled die is if you don't have to impressions on that coin it's not a Doubled die most coins you find in change have a shadow impressions that's not it I found a quarter one time a Doubled die it was just pure luck stupid me ends up spending it on accident your right completely you have to know what you are looking for before you search great video brother..
I've hunted penny rolls for a long time and just 2 days ago, I picked up yet another 1998 Philly to check for a WAM. I about fell off my chair. There it was a beautiful MS-63 wide A M. I emailed obverse and Reverse pics to Ga and he confirmed that it was indeed a '98 LMC-WAM. I do have 2 suspiciously looking Wisconsin Xtra Leaf 'ers. I'm not counting my chickens just yet. They definitely got my attention so I've put them in Archival flips, until I get my S24 activated tomorrow. That should greatly improve my picture clarity
Most of my 1917 and 1918 cents read like a modern zinc coin on my metal detector. They read 64 and pre 1982 cents read 79 on the detector. Do you know why? Did they use cheaper metals during WWI?
Hello Daniel, Love your show. I just found a 1978d Lincoln cent, Has a weak strike, It's as thin as a dime, and weights 2.27 grams ca you give me any info on this coin?
I use the exact microscope you got from that company, trying to lookup the year on a uniface obverse, but that microscope could not reveal it. Do you have a suggestion to that?
Coins are our past. They speak of old and new Presidents. I like to show off my Grandkids the pennies I collected from 1960- 2022. I tell them this is how many years I have lived.

I found a 1939 Jefferson nickel with the reverse of 1938 in a $25 coin roll trip from the bank. Moral of the story? It graded at MS67 Full Steps. Sold for $3,100. Idk about you, but all of the McDonald’s near me don’t pay $1,000 an hour. That’s just my most recent example I’ll use to prove you wrong lol. Hi again. I just read the comments. The ignorance of the populace amazes me. You are a great guy. Ignore stupidity.
Coin roll hunting lincolns quickly? Besides the obvious. What to keep in one roll fir example asap.
Thank you for this - I am very new at this and will look at the references you provided.

Great video!Have a success every day sir 👏👏👏
Thank you so much, I really needed this!!!!
Just using common sense is a big part of determining what is and is not an error from the minting process.
It was years before I found A Bie and everyone in the group was finding them all the time. So it takes time.

Hello Daniel, Love your show. I just found a 1978d Lincoln cent, Has a weak strike, It's as thin as a dime, and weights 2.27 grams ca you give me any info on this coin?
Thanks for the information
I FIND A 2006D DIME WITH THE OUTSIDE OF THE DIME IS COPPER WHAT WOULD THE ESTIMATED VALUE BE
I use the exact microscope you got from that company, trying to lookup the year on a uniface obverse, but that microscope could not reveal it. Do you have a suggestion to that?
That’s not what microscopes are for and it if a true uniface it’s not going to have a date anyway.
Coins are our past.
They speak of old and new Presidents.
I like to show off my Grandkids the pennies I collected from 1960- 2022.

This really helps
I remember you having a video similar to this a long time ago saying, "don't look for stuff that's not out there" and focus on known varieties and errors thanks for sharing your knowledge Daniel
Thanks for the help.
Very good info. Thank you.
I have said this before: there are just too many people just here to monetize their channels that "report" on the current error misinformation phenomenon.
My first ever error ever found was on my birthday and it was a 1972 D "No FG" Kennedy half dollar AU-55 confirmed by 3 coin dealers.
Unfortunately, unless PCGS, NGC or ANACS puts no FG on the label then it's going to be a hard "sell" to say it's an FG to collectors.
👍 job Daniel thanks
I have a 10x eye loupe, what can I get that's more powerful.
You don’t use anything more powerful. You don’t need to for varieties that are worth something and any mint error worth money can be seen without magnification.
GOOD Job 😊
I have a 1939 nickel that is offset hit how much would that be worth
I agree you have to watch this video and read everything Wexler puts out.
Thank u for this video.
Can dies change the sound a metal would normally make?
I just got a 20.00 star note 2017. I will save it to pass down for my grandson. Not old enough to benefit me.
Im enjoying looking at so many coins, I found a 1953 cent with a tiny 1 on the year, Look like a '953 but little bigger "the size of half of the 9#. Im rejoicing, might not be a great thing but who knows if its worth something.🤔
Nice 👍
Thank you.
A really good video 💪😎
I like your videos ,sir. I've been dabbling in coin collecting for a few years now.
Something bothered me about that video(Coins for kids).
Do the makers of said video believe kids are not smart enough to understand that

Hello Sr. I found a penny year 1988 weight 1.7 grams. How can I send you some pictures I need your help.Thanks.
Going through huge amounts of coins from the bank, looking for errors, wheats etc., is just fine if your time is worth nothing. You can make more profit by getting a part time job at McDonald's.
It's called a hobby
Love how you explain everything about coins, thanks again Daniel
I'm pretty sure not everybody is into coins for the money some like the hunting....and so what if somebody wants to spend 3 hours sifting through coins ...not any different than somebody spending 3 hours on a video game or spending the weekend binge watching some trendy show
I think he is trying to stop us from finding things he wants 😂
I found a 1939 Jefferson nickel with the reverse of 1938 in a $25 coin roll trip from the bank. Moral of the story? It graded at MS67 Full Steps. Sold for $3,100. Idk about you, but all of the McDonald’s near me don’t pay $1,000 an hour. That’s just my most recent example I’ll use to prove you wrong lol. Let me know if you want more, all applications accepted, serious inquiries only. 🤗🤓
