Man do you have any advice I’ve been trying for six months to find a hog on public land but I haven’t seen anything whatsoever. I see every sign imaginable but between legal hunting hours I never find where they are bedded down.
I’m gonna be heading to Florida in a few months and would like to get a pig or two. That shot are you shooting or would you recommend a rifle. We are more versed with rifles.
I hunt public land for hogs during small game season and only shotgun or rim fire is allowed. That’s why I use 00 Buckshot. Otherwise I’d be using my 30-06.
Nice shot, been watching your videos the past few days to try and get a grip on hog hunting, trying it for the first time this Saturday, at the WMA I'm going to I can use a rifle but do you prefer the 00buck?
Good luck. I’d prefer a rifle for putting down a hog but during the small game seasons all the WMA’s I know of don’t allow center fire rifles. Shotgun and rim fire only thus the 00buck.
@@floridagrownandgathered8775 ok no problem. Just new to Florida hunting and trying to find a nice place. Every where in mention someone saysvits a bad place to go
I have a permit for green swamp for turkeys if you have some intel I’m not familiar with that place I wouldn’t mind a guest it’s for the opener 19th-20
I’ve only hunted there a couple times about 15 years ago and never put enough time in to figure anything out. I have a permit for Richloam that weekend. I won’t be too far from you. Good luck!
Pro-tip: Keep a small pack of baby-wipes or wet-ones in your truck that you can just slip in to your pocket for spontaneous hunting in the future. No need to take a trip to the pond to clean up.
Thanks for sharing. I shot a sow on public land this past weekend and used some of the advice you have shared in previous videos
Awesome! Congrats!
I'm going hunting with a veteran group this weekend, first time hunting in my life I'm stoked
Great video once again! Ty!
Awesome video thanks 👍
Nice job man! I haven't seen one hog in the spots i was seeing them last year on the public land i hunt, hoping to get one before small game ends!!

Nice. I got a long weekend so I’m hoping to get out a lil bit and put one in the freezer.

@@floridagrownandgathered8775 where exactly does one get permission to hunt on WMAs? Any in central florida that you'd recommend?
What public land areas in Florida are best for hog hunting ?
Nice Job!!
Do you find them more active in the mornings or evenings?
Typically evenings. But when it’s cold out I find them feeding throughout the day.
Nice hunt. Which public land was that one?
I purposely stay pretty vague on what WMA's I hunt.

I’m in St Johns county and our last small game season was this past weekend... I want to continue hunting hogs throughout the year. Any suggestions?
Leasing or getting hunting rights on private land is the best way to hunt hogs year round. It can be pricey or hard to find in Florida though.
@@floridagrownandgathered8775 I’ve been trying to avoid paying to hunt as much as possible... might be inevitable
