Today, I have the MSI MPG 271QRX 27" 1440p 360hz QD OLED Unboxing and First Impressions. I go over how the image looks in daytime gaming and showing how to redeem that $100 free steam gift card offered by MSI in this monitor launch promo.
I will need to update this monitor to the latest firmware update. Its a critical update so before actual 360hz is tested I will update asap. ( the firmware fixes alot of issude from starthp black screens to Picture modes not changing)

@@irun2sanaxox Sent it back because my unit had very noticeable coil whine when playing games at 200+fps. Aside from that it was amazing. Hoping I just got unlucky and the next one will be fine.
Could we get some more HDR gameplay footage of this monitor please? Particularly of the TB400 and Peak 1000 modes, as I’ve read that for some reason the TB400 mode produces an overall brighter image than the Peak 1000 mode on these new Gen 3 QD-OLEDS (outside of 1-10% highlights). Sure no problem. I actually have the MPG and MAG versions for a vs vid. I can now do the true black 400 vs hdr1000 easier. The hdr1000 peak really looks nice on impact but true black 400 is nice but boring to me when I compare to a neo g8 etc. Ill show more soon on what I mean.. Thx
@@ViktorsReality Hello, is it normal on this monitor that after turning on HDR on the desktop or browser there is no difference compared to SDR? I can see the difference immediately on the LG c1.
what's the weight of this monitor without the stand?
Can you post your settings for this bad boy. I just picked it up today. Without HDR its kinda dark so I enable HDR and set SDR brightness up on Windows 11.

During the bright daytime I work as it is needed to afford such monitors and the hardware to compliment them.
I don't game in a bright living room - I play in a dark cave.
After watching your 27GS video I was very impressed and willing to go for it. LG is good brand imo, I have an LG C3, but I also like MSI.
In my region the 27GS is not yet available and will most likely cost a bit more then the MSI, which is available and at a ''fair'" price.
So, in this case, what would you advise?
Also can you VESA mount a monitor arm on the MSI, I assume you can, right? Cheers
This is better overall. I do find myself liking the msi more. You can mount no issues. Mine arrived with some adapting screws. I have never seen that before. Not a mount but spacer screws.
Im struggling to decide on next update… currently I have a nano ips . I use the monitor for console gaming … what could you recommend as an update : mini led Asus 4K or oled 4K? Thank you
I too love Nano IPS. I just got the LG 27GR95UM 1560 zones monitor. Ill have a vid out next. Its pretty nice as nano ips but now with zones!

Thats tough.. I love brightness so the LG is best for me. But 360hz is so nice. It looks better vs my aw2723df 280hz. So it seems the w-OLEDS are brighter and Inhave not seen any color wash. I will have both this and the LG GS up soon in a vs video.

Both sre great. The Asus or LG offer the best w-oled experience. Get whichever tou like better. The design etc. The Asus is brighter in HDR in the peaks while LG has a remote.

I just got it in. I will test both mag and mpg in a vs vid this week.
I just purchased the the MSI MAG 27QPX. I'm seeing that it's essentially the same monitor but the MAG does not support Firmware Updates. So I guess any quality of life issues the Firmware has I'm stuck with, forever. Oh well, the MAG was $100 cheaper so I had to go with the more economical option.
I finally received my monitor. However. I can't figure out how to download my the newest 010 firmware. When I go to settings in the gaming intelligence app the firmware doesn't pop up on the right side. There is an option to do the firmware manually but when I downloaded the firmware, it's shows up as a bin file. Do I add that when when browsing the files? This is so frustrating. Any help would be appreciated. Also, I have all the files from the Intellegence app and firmware extracted to the same folder.

For picture impact no. If you have it on mostly sdr mode no. But HDR would look more clear and just as nice with no blooming whatsoever. The Asus is pretty expensive. It's not night and day difference. More like day and afternoon. Lol what do you like on the Neo so I can better understand what you like
does this monitor support 10 bit color at full 2k 360hz on displayport 1.4?
fairly sure it does since the alienware equivalent with the same panel does
that steam voucher program is super cool it really tip how much cheaper this monitors are compared to the competitors... too bad they are not easily available by the time i get the 32inch one the program might have ended...
Hopefully it will be $699 for the 27" soon or $849 for the 32".
Ordered this monitor and I’m getting nothing but good reviews wanted the aw27 360hz but this was cheaper so no brainer that dcpi is crucial in some scenarios bought it for val xdefiant ow

The MAG does not support firmware updates. (Also lower Power delivery) Do not buy it you will regret it. There already is a new firmware for these msi monitors. Buy the MPG..

I dont want you to regret canceling its just that if there is a major update or even critical you will be stuck. Thats why I say this. I dont know what msi is thinking. See my paywall msi video couple days ago on this for confirmation.

If you go to the support section of the mag version it says there a firmware available as of 2-7. Does this mean it does support it?
don't let actual sunlight on the display even through a window - you will get uneven wear from it on OLEDs similar to burn in
Just showing worst case scenario. It's was Sunrays with blinds so it was thru a valance etc.. But for sure never do that.
I recently got this monitor and so far, I think it’s great. However as someone who games for over 4 hours, The Pixel refresh on screen popup notification is a bit bothersome.
Have you updated it yet? I believe it helps with that notification
@@ViktorsReality I downloaded the gaming intelligence app. I’m not sure how to go about downloading any of the firmware updates though., as there is a few on there website that I did download and extract the files from, but I’m not sure if it did anything. Maybe you can make a video on how to go about that. Because as of right now, there is no videos showing how to do it. I subbed to your channel. So I will keep a look out, if you decide to do so.. My current Firmware is FW009
The Dell version you can click "always do in standby" or something like that and it never pops up.

Both are great. You cant lose. The MSI has nicer packaging and the heatsink is huge. I really like that heatsink. But Dell fast on warranty.
Is it really true that the msi mpg271qrx switches off after the refresh? Is that a bug or intentional?

The MAG has 15w power delivery vs the 90w on the MPG. Also, the MAG does not support firmware updates while the MPG does. And last the minimal rgb lighting (on the back) on the MPG while the MAG does not.

the alienware 360 oled has very poor build quality terms of plastic. After i turn off the monitor the power suply still makes some " crack" noise like big 55 zoll lcd tvs. The sound can also happen when temperature in the room change. Does this monitor have the same problem ? For some pll its nothing but because i sleep next to the monitor its a huge deal.
I can double check. Ill have a gameplay video next couple days. Ill see if I hear anything..

Viktor this is my ultimate gaming monitor! But at the moment I cannot afford it now and for a while. I can, however, get an aw2721D for $200, is that monitor worth it for that price?
That aw is really bright with nano ips. It's a great monitor. It would be way brighter vs the MSI. Hdr is great too but it's ips nano so the contrast is not as deep. Nano really gives you bright colors. I can try to hook mine up again if you need me too

Make sure its not flickering, check the ports are not bent, access the menu and for any dead pixels. Even if it had a few $200 is a crazy good price. Why are they selling it?
@@ViktorsReality I picked it up man after hearing your positive feedback and all I can say is WOW! This thing is extremely bright just like you said haha in SDR its almost 600 nits, and in HDR almost 800! This is the only IPS monitor that I can say has good HDR! They were selling as they got the aw3423dwf and had no more need, so I did all the scanning and checking that you mentioned and it passed all the tests so I said for $200 why not! Just have 1 last question for you man, there are 2 settings im trying to figure out. I hear on Rtings that people use different modes under "Variable Backlight" which essentially is the 32 local dimming zones; what setting do you recommend I leave it on? And anything with the Dark Stabilizer? Right now its just 0 and Mode 0. These 2 settings are all I need to know and I am good to go! Thanks again man, you helped me make that AWESOME buying decision for sure!!!
Does anyone know if you can pick some small or large dot crosshairs from the smart crosshair section? Nobody has touched on that area of the monitor.

OK so I bought the lg oled and noticed the greasy matte coating immediately without even looking for it you don't need a microscope we all need to tell them to make a glossy version at least for oleds
Matte is fine. While I can tell it looks vasoline like its better vs an ultra matte dry looking screen. No issues on the LG. Its all preference... good thing we are starting to have options.

No issue so far. I have not seen any. Some flickering started happening but the firmware fixes it.

Its very minimal. I say this MSI is worth it. I still will try to get the both of these for a V.s. video but the Asus is always sold out. They make a few every month..

Don't need to get it, when you can get this one for cheaper. Check hardware unboxed for the spec review, it's better

Dont worry. It has a 3yr burn in warranty and heatsink. Buy the MPG series NOT the MAG. This looks really well built.

You probably got the slightly cheaper model that doesn’t support firmware updates. Outside of that it’s the same monitor.

I can confirm that the ABL problem still exist in this screen, i boght one, and when you puto a web browser, or a window, in full screen in white, getr a little more bighjter and is annoying, possible its more annoying thant the asus one.
What preset do you have it on
@@ViktorsReality not matter what preset you put it on or oled care options, has the probelm on all modes, when you resize a window to fullscreen, (white), the screen seem to get a liltt bit more brighter, and its annoying..., can you test this?, or can you tell me if in the lg GS; still this problem? thanks

Street fighter alpha 3. Only that game shows oled dimming when the hits happen which are white bright flashes.

Its not validated but usually all monitors work with gsync compatability
