I think every time I see Jimmy in these more long form interviews, that he is a real student of his craft, he seems like he really studies historical comedians and works hard at his stuff. He's not just a "funny guy who tells jokes" he really has studied a lot of historical comedians, and has a process. Yet he makes it look super natural and off the cuff.
He always gives it up to the originals and his influences. Really awesome and cool to see. I recently became a big fan of his in the past couple of years
He definitely is a "real student of his craft". Check out his book, "The Naked Jape: Uncovering The Hidden World Of Jokes", it's a really fascinating and entertaining book about the history of jokes and how they work behind the scenes.
i like comedians that give off a more “effortless” vibe instead of meticulous broken down to a science joke teller. like norm would bomb on purpose if he thought the joke was funny this guy couldn’t fathom doing that
The fact he really took the time to break down his method of composing his jokes and coming up with his routine I felt went under the radar of appreciation... those are great tips for upcoming comics... most artist don't give u those gems. Thankyou
I've been a fan of Jimmy Carr since the first time I saw him, because I love his comedy and his laugh brings me joy. Every time I see him do an interview, I become even more of a fan of him as a human being.
i was lucky enough to watch him perform his 90 minutes in jakarta back in january, and what he said at 0:51 is so true. he was so quick and smooth, and it does feel like you're getting your money's worth because you get to hear what seems like a gajillion jokes in less than 2 hours
Great idea. I think it might happen. Conan is travelling more now, and he is more willing to come to the UK and Ireland. He will have to come to Manchester, where Cats Does Countdown is taped.
Would love that but I don’t know channel 4 can afford him. Maybe Graham Norton with his BBC money. To be honest every year I’m worried that something bad will happen to channel 4 and it’s brilliant programming
@@mattnesspl6785 Like all channels it is going through a rough patch, but just look at BBC and ITV, both having problems. ITV losing £1 million on Mr Bates drama and ad revenue falling. BBC with their own massive issues including the royal charter ending by 2028 and the anti BBC attitude of a lot.
