Jimmy Carr on Conan's podcast with a Sean Lock name drop...perfect!
💯
I'm in heaven.
On what would have been Sean 61st birthday.
Not enough people know the pinnacle of comedy that was Sean Lock.
I miss Sean, one of the GOATs of comedy.
Jimmy Carr is indeed a fast ball. I thought it was just in his stand ups but no. Conan couldn’t finish his thought and just blurted out “you’re not allowed to talk in your interview” haha awesome listening to these two quick witted intelligent individuals!
Well.. yeah, he's quick, but that's not really what 'having a fastball' means
He's been both host and guest on multiple British variety shows, and demonstrates that quick wit constantly.
First time I ever did a double take on a thumbnail. I never thought I'd see Jimmy Carr and Conan O'Brien together!
except the seven times when Carr did stand up on Conans show.... but BESIDES that... ;-)
@@barylerhe wasn't interviewed on those shows, no? So yeah, for me it was also weird to see them in a talking scenario ^^
@@DOSkywalkR Was he not? Maybe not all of them, but a lot of times comedians are called over after their set on late night talk shows. I know it was supposed to be a big deal when Johnny Carson would call comedians over to sit down after their set because it meant he especially liked them, and I know it often happened on Letterman as well, so I just can't remember if that was a thing on Conan's shows.
No debate needed on this. One of his stand ups on Conan was just uploaded 3 days ago-
ruclips.net/video/c8CT4wuLWus/видео.htmlsi=GAEPyevj37TFswR3
Watch and decide for yourselves😄
@@Len124 I also remember that being a thing on certain shows, like Letterman, and it kind of phased out. I don't think Conan did it often with stand ups.
I am an American who loves watching British comedy shows, particularly panel shows so am stoked to see Jimmy Carr on Conan. Just in the past few months we had James Acaster on Late Night, Greg Davies/Alex Horne on Late Night, Noel Fielding on the Tonight Show and now Jimmy Carr on Conan's podcast?!?! The British weren't able to take America but they're infiltrating American comedy and I am all here for it.
It's a second british invasion, but with comedians this time, instead of rock bands.
First wave was Benny Hill and Monty Python, but that was a long time ago. This would be the second wave.
someone needs to get richard ayoade over here ASAP!!!!
@@damn.vegetables Rich is already voicing the main character in Krapopolis so give it some time.
Gervais was advanced recon, now we have the measure of Hollywood.....
Aww he mentioned Sean :')
Yes and without skipping a beat he calls him "My friend", like he's still here which he always kinda is
Damn this is a nice surprise! Two of some of the funniest people on the planet right there.
And jimmy carrs there too
"You escape competition be authenticity, no one else can beat you at being you" - Allan Havey & Jimmy Carr
I've never clicked on a thumbnail so fast in my life. Honestly, British panel shows are where I get my TV comedy fix now that Conan isn't on every night. Cats Does Countdown was like my gateway drug into that world about 4 years ago when we were all stuck at home. This is gonna be great!
This makes me wish Sean Lock had been on Conan's show. I feel like his wry wit would have made Conan laugh so much.
Oh My God they got my favourite british comic on a podcast with my favourite american comedian this is a dream come true
Word for word what I was about to say!
I. know. right.
SAME!!
Both Irish, apparently!
Yes!
Conan on Graham Norton would be awesome. Make this happen Sona.
It might happen. Conan's new travel show is about to drop on HBO Max soon so maybe he goes to Graham Norton to promote the show there.
They did appear together the Late Late Show in Ireland a few weeks ago
Two of my favorite comedians just chilling and killing it with Sona's adorable laughter in the background is such a gift
Conan on Big Fat Quiz? Yes, please…
I need conan on would you lie to me
Conan on 8 out of 10 cats does Countdown would be my jam
Taskmaster
Conan couldn't handles Jordan Schlansky at his best, Richard Ayoade and James Acaster would destroy him 😂
@@erenyaeger2320 imagine Conan and Lee Mack having a conversation
"You escape competition through authenticity" Love that line.
This is a full circle moment for me. I remember being a kid in America and seeing Jimmy Carr on late night with Conan for the first time. I had no idea who he was but his jokes were so unique that l remembered quite a few of them into adulthood. Eventually the internet finally got so prolific that i could type in what i remembered of the jokes and actually rediscovered the clip and finally learned his name. From that point, I discovered 8 out of 10 cats (pre-countdown era), and by extension WILTY, QI, and all sorts of other panel shows and comedians i now adore.
This episode is proof that comedy makes the Atlantic really just a pond. What a joy to have these two finally meet ☺️
"Finally" - after having had Jimmy on Conan's late night show seven times.
"Everyone's just trying to get to the grave." That sums up life too well.
This might be the greatest crossover ever.
Can confirm - it is.
Is not a crossover
Crazy how they are both Irish by blood
Two of my favorite comedians. Both are so quick and willing to be the butt of a joke.
I think Jimmy sleeps in a tailored suit.
Nah... he just unclicks it from its mounting pegs, along with his hairdo, before going to bed. Like Mr. Potatohead.
I think Jimmy sleeps around in a tailored suit.
Nah... I think Jimmy just sleeps with our moms.
Thata how he walks put of his box every morning.
That‘s not a tailored suit… (paraphrasing Alan Carr).
Conan and Jimmy Carr!!! This is the best mash up since 8 Out Of 10 Cats does Countdown!
Yes! Since The Pope and Dalai Lama sung on TeleTubbies!
don't know why I'd never thought of this match up, but what a great one. these two are perfect together
jimmy carr will always be in my top 5 best stand up comedians of all time, and to see him interact in a 1v1 with my most favorite late night host... sublime.
love jimmy carr so much its awesome hes on this podcast
Much love to Jimmy for referencing the great Sean Lock, RIP to the legend and the funniest man there ever was
I needed this! They pair so well together. Love Conan and Jimmy.
Sona's cackling was on another level this episode!
Yeah she needs to shut up
@@superamario6464 You can't really control laughter, at best you can cover your mouth.
@@superamario6464right back at you knobhead.
Big fan of Sona's cackling, BONUS!!!
@@BirdsElopeWithTheSun09 true...maybe edit the pod so her cackling and snickering isn't loud
This is awesome, the king of British panel show and the king of late night
“You got out of it?!?” 😂😂😂
The energy in this one was insane. The Jimmy and Conan collab I wasn’t expecting this year! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I watched this whole video with a big stupid grin on my face. As a MASSIVE fan of Cats Does Countdown and other british panel shows heavily featuring Jimmy Carr, this is heaven. And I was literally thinking of Sean Lock as Jimmy mentioned him. God I miss Sean Lock so much, he was easily my favorite on Cats does Countdown
Just watched this 3 times. these two. omg. so glad Conan gave Jimmy his flowers. You have to be sooo quick witted and f'n intelligent to be a great comic and these 2 are the best. they should do someething, anything together and it would be a massive hit
Sooooo excited to see Jimmy Carr here!!!!!!! This is the calmest I ever seen Jimmy! Their chemistry was awesome❤😂 And loved the Sean Locke mention 💔
British comedians and Conan is a combo I didn't know I needed until today. I'd love to see James Acaster, Rhod Gilbert, Noel Fielding or Bob Mortimer on the podcast... and Richard Ayoade, preferably sitting next to Jordan Schlansky, I want to see the world end
can you imagine Bob Mortimer telling one of his completely bonkers, yet true, stories to Conan? this must happen!
@@benzaiten933 Like when he was a hairdresser on a camping site and gave fifty randoms a haircut, starting with his friend.
Kevin Nealon, the original Conan nemesis 😮😅
Norm is a close second for that title, Norm McDonald ruins Conan's promos. 😂
his actual nemesis is OBVIOUSLY Leno though
Normal Mcdonald
Jimmy Carr is one of the smartest people in comedy. His analysis of the art and society-at-large is always thoughtful and thought-provoking.
Jimmy Carr is truly a standup that uses satire and social constructs to full advantage. Those who dismiss him as a shock comic are missing the point, imo. He's such a talented host himself, the two hosts with the mosts together? Amazing to witness and I think they should join forces more often. Also I wait excitedly for Jimmy's laugh every time, it's so unique and joyous. Thanks for another gem! 💗✨
I cannot believe these two are in an interview together!!! He’s my favorite us host and I LOVE all of the UK panel shows! Crossover please!!
Saw Jimmy live last year after years of panel shows and online comedy bits... He was a hoot and after the show walked to his hotel among the crowd and waved at fans. Did not have a whole entourage with him like many acts do these days.
He lost the entourage as part of the tax settlement
Yessss omg Jimmy with Conan is a dream pairing! Can’t wait to listen to this….Conan’s laugh vs Jimmy’s laugh is going to have me in stitches
this feels like a dream come true, fever dream or a crossover event. just awesome!
2 things I regularly watch on yt. Conan and 8 out of 10 Cats.. Wonderful seeing these 2 together
Yay for uk comedians on conaf!❤ More of them here please! Got super excited to see Jimmy Carr
Hahaha the 'fair play' observation had me howling. So accurate
Oh my God!!! Conan and Jimmy together??? I'm in heaven (or hell...)!!!
I SO hope the full video will come up here.
Yes I know they are just talking, but the body language is important as well, and just seeing Sona throwing back her head and cackling is so good
Jimmy Carr talking about Sean Lock on Conan's podcast. Worlds colliding. Love it.
Started coming across the UK panel shows on RUclips. So, I've been watching Jimmy a lot, for years. Great to see him on the podcast.
These two together?! Holy smokes, this is amazing.
I love "fair play" is great because it sounds like you're saying "Yup, you added something to this conversation like a golf shot and I'm acknowledging that the comment landed on the green, we can keep talking"
I think I first heard it in that viral live RUclips video from two years ago of a planespotter (Big Jet TV) at Heathrow watching planes making difficult landings in heavy winds: 'Fair play, mate, fair play!', meaning 'well done.'
ive always understood it to mean "i concede my view or acknowlege your point is better but i keep my own" (as a canadian)
as a brit, I think of it more like "you were faced with a situation, and the strategy you chose was appropriate," hence a "fair" "play".
Eg. it stopped raining; your play was to put away your umbrella. fair play
Carr is always awesome, but so much love for conan
This is one of the few ads that has caught my interest since the photo's on glass ad. If their mission statement holds true-no investors, no venture capital, just focusing on growth at their own pace and prioritizing happiness-I'm all in. It resonates with the advice Tony Randall gave to Conan during his first show's finale, which has stuck with me. Definitely a company I’d support with my purchases.
So many of my favourite funny people are so underrated Conan and Norm Macdonald to name two.
Jimmy Carr's laugh makes my soul resonate
Two of my favourite comedians together! So cool to see!!!
Oh, man. This maks me so happy that yall finally got together. Can yall get the BBC to produce a limited series about yall driving throughout the UK, staying at bed and breakfasts, and being general miscreants? Basically it's the film The Tripn (2010) but these two.
And Steve can make a few cameos, too.
Love Jimmy Carr! So glad Sona and Matt are still on the air, even if Conan has to be on.
lol
It's because of their irishness that they get on so well. They get each other. Love them both. Jimmy's autobiography is a great read.
What a treat to see these two interact
More of this please Conan. Excellent conversation
I wanted to see Jimmy make Conan and Sona play "Carrot in a Box". Maybe even the electric version.
Feeling these comments! More Brits please and an appearance from Conan on all their panel shows! 🙌
I’d love to see more British comedians on here. Greg Davies!
And Little Alex Horn!
7:48 Jimmy Carr might be a unique comedian in his jokes and delivery BUT in this moment, sitting there with Conan… the way he’s framed… the way he moves around… his general look. He is also somehow a British Jimmy Pardo. Never thought that before and now I can’t unsee it.
Conan, though you are unlikely to see this amongst your sea of adoring fans, I just wanted to thank you. I've been watching my precious Mom deteriorate from lewy body dementia. Though people want to make it circle of life acceptable, watching someone you adore become more and more brain damaged is heart wrenching. Even with support of loved ones, I've reached to escape into your podcast episodes so often that it has become like a security blanket. And I keep them running in the background often, just for some lightness. So when you spoke of your father's assessment that you are making a living off of something that should be treated...all I can think is why would anyone want to lobotomize magic? You've taken the beautiful uniqueness of who you are and brought it into service to lighten the load of all who listen to you. The relief you've provided to people all over the world came exactly from that unusual spark! What if someone sedated Martin Luther King because he got too worked up about civil rights? We need less zombified people keeping step with the status quo and more people not afraid to bring forward what makes them unique. If someone, even someone who loves you doesn't get your magic, it is still truly magic. And if you do have some kind of synaptic difference, it needs to be naturally selected and propagated because we need more people like you in this world. Thank you for who you are and what you do. I hope the joy you give out comes back to you a million times over.
Great guest and conversation! I also like that it's not another SNL talk
Now this is the ‘Special Relationship’ we’re talking about.
I remember when Conan would tell a bad joke and he would just do an imitation of a turtle going into his shell LOL I didn’t know it was a Jimmy carr impression
“I can’t read” made this interview an art!
So nice of Conan to invite the ventriloquist Doll from goosebumps on his show. Absolute legend.
Jimmy Carr is the handsome British version of Richard Nixon
OMG MY 2 FAVORITE COMEDIANS ON SCREEN AT THE SAME TIME!!!!!
Jimmy Carr and Sona!
@@suakeli Exactly!
Craig Ferguson was unique. I mean who else could have had a dancing horse and a Robot skeleton sidekick.
That’s why Craig is second only to Conan.
Absolutely love Jimmy Carr
Jimmy carr is a treasure. One of rhe best comedians.
If this is how enemies treat each other, then i need more enemies.
Thanks for meaningful and valuable video as always ❤❤❤
Conan entered the late night hosting with nearly everyone questioning why he was there and exited late night hosting with nearly everyone questioning why he was being forced out.
The Tonight Show machine will forever be shunned by me for what it’s worth.
I'ts really a shame they cancelled him like that, but then again, his conduct did become a liability.
@@LeGrandMort like Jim Downey said though, 'who are we to judge?'
I enjoy British comedy. It's wacky, and absurd, but it's also extremely cerebral - Something you simply don't get from most American comedy/comedians. I'm not bashing American comedy, btw. I love comedy in most of its iterations, but I especially enjoy comedy that allows my brain to work. This podcast was very enjoyable.
wow. "Algernon". impressive. Someone get that man some flowers.
I love jimmy carr..need more of him.
Just randomly dropping a reference to 1840's street gang "Plug Uglies" in an offhand joke during an interview is peak Conan.
"No. I found that by doing less you're doing more." LONG PAUSE!
some of my favorites colliding. i love it. get more UK comedians on!!!!!
Cigarette esthetic is pretty perfect to describe Courtney. Thanks for doing this song!! One of the songs of my high school years, when we were all angsty and rocking out!!
I've never found Jimmy Carr that funny tbh. He mentioned his friend Sean Lock though and he was absolutely hilarious.
Can’t wait to see Jimmy do a show tomorrow!
IT FINALLY EFFING HAPPENED! Am I dead?? Is this for real?? Yussss!
Love Jimmy!
Conan is SO RIGHT about doing more by doing less jokes aside and I'm so glad he realized it through this podcast
I didn't expect the episode to be as funny. Laughed all the way.
❤❤❤ 8 out of 10 cats does countdown!!! Do not cheat yourselves 🔥😂
We want more. Conan and Jimmy start a show together haha.
Jimmy is starting to look like quagmire
A ventriloquist dummy.
First, Conan definitely had a Nemesis with a sinister laugh! But now I need to see Richard Ayoade on here.
This is such a mind blowing moment for me, two of the most influential funny men of my adolescence engaging in a podcast together. Something I never realised I wanted, their chemistry is top notch 😂
Please have Graham Norton on sometime, Conan ! Millions of us around the world would lose our minds !
Perfect opportunity to hassle him about his tax evasion 🤣
Ugh, LOVE. Cats Does Conan.
This is some vintage ball breaking right here
