I like this game. But it's problems with overleveling is a flaw. Also, newbies need to know to choose a female main character. for it's flight advantages.
Wyverns are busted in every FE. Letting every unit be a wyvern wildly successfully and having the ability to dismount is absolutely stupid from a design standpoint tho.
@@onadaTotihotiHi like to imagine Byleth teleporting himself towards a boss, only reaching half way. He then proceeds to boogie to himself, allowing him to teleport again towards the boss, finally reaching them.
Or Lysithea as a dark flier wielding Thyrsus. She was a mega mage with the standard classes, with the dlc it made her the sniping get in get out goddess of destruction.

I honestly believe 3H's wack balancing is a result of the devs needing to account how not everyone will have nor train their units the exact same way (given how flexible the class system is compared to most traditional games). It could've appreciated a bit more testing honestly. On the other hand, I feel that would have resulted in us missing the sheer bonkers stuff we can pull off.
3H is an unfinished, rushed out game. Beta version 0.9. They never got to balancing & polish. There are so, so many cracks once you start looking. Broken class paths for pegasi & wyverns from adding a class tier, flayn and miklan chapter swap not rebalanced resulting in a difficulty spike and drop and weirdly long distances to run in Miklan's tower becuase units are still at unpromoted 4 movement, UI issues, Edeglards rushed and aborted route and missing charcter arc or shortened lifespan aswell as Slitherer lore and campaign, Claude's copy paste church route, having him act out of character and against his own goals because he has to play Seteth. (3 Hopes has Claude acting consisted with his goals and how his character was set up in 3Houses), etc. Screams for a definitive edition on Switch 2.0. Should easily be profitable aswell.
@@sunkeyavad6528 Funny you say that Edelgard's route "was aborted", as a gameplay analysis of the route done a few months ago revealed that CF's difficulty is handled so differently compared to AM, VW and SS that it's highly unlikely it was ever intended to go past 18 Chapters like the other 3. Almost as if it was never meant to be a true equal to them, in a sense. I would love to share the analysis I'm talking about (it's called "Why fixing Crimson Flower isn't straightfoward" iirc) but youtube hates linking other sites so I'll leave you to find it should the topic be of interest to you. It shouldn't be that hard anyways.
@sunkeyavad6528 I wouldn't count on it. Three Hopes pulled several unused concepts from Houses, it seems like they are genuinely done with Fodlan at this point.
I feel like Lysithea deserves to be on the list by herself honestly. Give her Thyrsus and she doesn't even get close to the frontlines, she learns at an insanely fast pace and since she's pretty much a magic-only unit, you'll almost exclusively use magic & faith: the classes she'll end up in will also give her a learning bonus. Her magic growth is insane, and she has a great spell list. She can only do one thing, but no one can it better than her. A lot of 3H units can become very broken very easily but I think you'd have to go out of your way to make her even mediocre
@@daxfer2945 once you get a hang of the game, knowing you can use Thyrsus’ main effect on basically anybody (crest limitations or not) makes it such a safe way to pick off enemies from behind your frontliners
What other broken Three Houses mechanics and gimmicks and set-ups etc exist that weren't mentioned ? Let me know in the comments down below! And don't forget to leave a like for search! This video took quite a bit of time so your support is greatly appreciated!
Okay, this one isn’t exactly legal in the game, nor is it incredibly busted…but Viskam from the Online Liaison, just straight flips off even a forged Levin Sword. I exploited the Calender Loop glitch to hell and back so I could get so much as 3 (when I needed only 1), so much as before the timeskip
Shoutout to gauntlets. Not only are they brave weapons, but they also pave the way for brawl avoid +20, quick riposte, and most of all fierce iron fist. I like to think of Three Houses like Morrowind. They’re both broken but it’s a fun kind of broken.
Don't forget combat art avoid gives crit avoid as well, allowing for certain tanky brawlers to set up kills with chip damage on enemies like death knight with minimum risk. Although not broken, I thought it was a cool fun fact, magic combat arts use magic hit rate formula, which ignores avoid from speed and instead luck avoids magic, but magic hit formula ignores terrain as well, so Constance Mystic Blow has some under rated accuracy while being one of the few magic combat arts that one might care about, which is still mostly no one since dark flier can't use it but oh well. It's another nice bonus of gauntlets.
Also REALLY good early game because most units will have a significant amount of weight impacting them even with iron weapons of most weapon types but gauntlets can be used by the physical units not weighed down even someone with lackluster strength by base like Ingrid ( war cleric Ingrid is fun btw
@@OrlandoAguirre222Constance is honestly better in Valkyrie because she really likes having that one +30 hit magic battlion cuz she’s very inaccurate. And you can dismount to use gauntlets anyway
@@ultimaterecoil1136 True, but you train gauntlets on Constance purely for memes or for War Monk to get damage and avoid with them. Getting Valkyrie and authority and gauntlets on top of that is a lot, and you can still use magic while dismounted. I just mentioned the accuracy of Mystic Blow because while starting her training since Chapter 1, her accuracy was 100 or close to it against thieves and enemies on avoid terrain, which helps a lot on maddening no new game plus. Still, DLC may as well be cheating difficulty, but I learned of this cool fact of magic combat arts using magic hit formula because of DLC. I thought it might be a nice share cause I learned it in the 7th playthrough, which was my first with DLC cause I like playing vanilla first and I liked it so much that 6 playthroughs was fun even without it. To add to the fun facts on gauntlets again, cause why not, they're the only weapon type that doesn't have a breaker skill to counter them.
I still won't forget my golden deer maddening run, where for the lulz I gave Ignatz every luck boost I could get my hands on, and he was consistently getting 100 crit as an assassin. Needless to say, he was clutch
I’m not trying to be that ackshually kind of guy, but (serious question) isn’t Dex the stat that related to crit? I sometimes don’t know because i’m always using Killer weapons and Wo Daos
@LFPman You are correct! In three houses though, luck stacks with dex to determine crit rate. I don't know much about other games, but I do know luck in most other games will reduce the chance of enemy critical hits
3h was my first fire emblem game, and now I’m a fan of the series, and the broken classes was part of charm, this is single player game, there is no need to have everything balanced at all cost, as long as it is fun
Yeah 3H basically took the balancing philosiphy of "If everything is broken, nothing is" Except Anna, I legit have no clue what they were thinking when designing her as a playable character.
@@bobthegamingtaco6073 I thought the deal with Anna in 3H is that she's underpowered/underbaked. It's very frustrating that she cameos in other pairings' supports but is lacking in having her own supports. And supports are super strong in 3H.
15:40 "The only thing that bypasses the damage reduction [of Impregnable Wall] is Poison Strike". I actually used that to my advantage, using the combination of Impregnable Wall and Poison Strike to ignore the Golden Deer final boss's gimmick and chip him down down 20% at a time, risk free, until he fell to 1 HP and one more attack finished him off. I know it's not the fastest way to beat him, but I still think it's kind of silly.

Every day I wake up and thank Sothis that despite it being nearly five years old, we’re still talking about Three Houses, whether it’s gameplay, lore, characters, theories or whatever, I don’t think I’ll ever get enough, positive or negative Meanwhile, Engage…
@@PenguinWithInternetAccess Yeah Engage is fun as hell and I find myself going back to it more than I do 3 houses, shame the story is mediocre because now a bunch of people won't give it a chance.
@@e-tan3911 Same here. I'm raring to go through a third playthrough of Engage. Meanwhile, I've only done 2 runs of 3 houses and I'm content with never touching it again.
Honestly I have to agree, despite Three Houses's rough edges like its gameplay balance, graphics, and maps, it has settled itself in the popular subconscious as a game that has placed effort and care into its world-building, characters, plot and other aspects that help elevate the game to being seen as one of its most favored games in the franchise. Imo, no game is perfect or without flaws but the fact that people are still enjoying and talking about Three Houses five years after while many in the fandom have already moved on from Engage a year after shows that many people will remember Three Houses while some people will struggle to remember Engage due to being talked about a lot less.
Engage needed the Fell Xenologue's quality of writing and the Fell Xenologue needed Engage's gameplay. Both are severely lacking in those aspects and it's unsurprising that people weren't as big a fan. When you consider that we went from a story where one could argue that there was no true villain (besides TWSITD, but they're end game in certain routes and take a back seat to the major Fodlan factions) to one where everybody was all chummy and everything is sparkles and rainbows and the bad guy belongs on a Saturday morning cartoon. Well, it's quite the change in pace. Even Fates had dark themes and moral conflicts (as awkward as they were). Engage just straight up doesn't. Even the Elusian units you recruit were just good people following bad leaders (in Veyle's case, literally brainwashed). There is absolutely no moral grey area.
Playing through Azure Moon was my first Fire Emblem experience, and I now understand why my axe wielding, wyvern riding Cyril (with Gilbert as an adjutant) was my best unit. 😆
I don't know that I'll use any of these strategies, but this definitely reminded me I need to get around to playing Three Houses already. I watch so many videos on this series without actually playing these days.
its been so long since i've played Three Houses but the thumbnail is the perfect embodiment of how my run went. Sending out Edelgard to crit sweep a map was insanely satisfying.
Swift Strikes became a favorite of mine on Maddening. Can't double? Who cares! It's another brave combat art, so just take your strongest lance and murder them! Sylvain makes really good use of it because his Crest can proc with either strike. Didn't usually need it, but hey, it's nice to have. It does take A-rank lances, though, and only Sylvain, Ferdinand, and Seteth get it
There’s also another one I’d like to add, though it’s probably only achievable on NG+: high accuracy, doubling weapons. For this, you’ll need to use a certain battalion and level it all the way up to the max, Edmunds Troops. So you’ll need to recruit Marianne beforehand on a previous run. This is only applicable in the late game, as you will need a high authority rank to use this battalion. You can either choose to build a unit with high physical accuracy (210+, ideally with a brave axe), or build a unit with high magical accuracy (~190+ with magic bows or aura knuckles). I suggest Ignatz for physical and Lysithea for magical. But you can only build one to start with, so pick your poison. You’ll need to improve strength (if going with physical option) or magic (with the magical option) to ensure you deal enough damage in two hits to kill without retaliation. High speed is nice, but not required. If built correctly, this type of unit can become a DELETE button on Player Phase!
Everything here is all I agree. Some honorable mentions for me would be swift strikes as a combat art as it makes Ferd and Sylvain player phase powerhouses. I use them often as just paladin because of this, and well as Seteth on wyvern or switch him to pal just for the +5 on lances. Hubert... just Hubert. His magic and spell list is actually really good. Restrict movement for one turn or just early game lower defense. Plus Dark spikes late game. Lysithea just because of nuke potential. And finally, (Spoilers) knight. distant counter. enough said.
The hardcore challenge runners might hate Three Houses for this stuff, but I absolutely adore it. The best part of any game is min-maxing stuff while keeping things fun. Yea you can just do insane broken crap or cheesy crap like spam Wyverns, but you can also make Rafael become a Swordmaster and Ignatz into a Warmaster. It took a while but I did that and it was a hugely fun run. A big bulky dude like Rafael dodging hits is *chef's kiss
Yes I absolutely love war master Ignatz. I imagine him painting right in the middle of the battle field of troops he slaughtered. Is it his way to process every life he crits away?
When it comes to stealth, yeah it's amazing. I once did a "mobile fortress" build where I had 4 tanks (including dodge tanks), 4 siege times, and 4 Assassin's or Tricksters with good rallies and utility spells It was very fun, would recommend. I did use new game+ though to get it set up a fair bit earlier
The Siege Tome units were either Gremory for it's 2x Bolting spells and using those crest items to sometimes not burn a spell use. Or they were Thoron Valkyries with the Range Staffs
Wyvern rider my fav class. Having Claude, Leonie, Sylvain and Hilda as Wyverns with Dorothea as a dancer, Raphael as a master brawler, Ignatz as a master archer, Lysithea as a nuke, Lorenz as a dark knight. Needed another death knight after azure moon and a brigand I recruited, dont remember whom was so much fun!!!

I'd class this game somewhere in the middle of my list of favorite fe gameplay. It was not boring but i didn't have the most fun with how repetitive the maps are overall being exactly the same. Wish the game spawned us on different parts of the map to show where we are coming from. Would have made the gameplay interesting to see if a different area would make it easier or harder to clear maps Or just let us skip part 1 like how fates did the branching in chapter 5 instead
I agree, the replay ablity of the school arc being exactly the same does bog the experience down. but there's 3 big problems with the solution to "Skip" it brings. 1. It heavily restricts your customization and classes. What route will it try to bring down everyone? Their 'canon' route? what skills would they have learned through the TS. If it's exclusively class specific then you'd be missing some crucial skills that you'd need to dedicate time to learning in the war arc. (Like death blow) what weapon/movement levels would they have learned? 2. You flat out miss a lot of rewards from paralogues. Rewards that would absolutely feel unearned if you just got handed it to you if all pre-timeskip paralogues was just auto completed. (Shoes of the Wind, Luin, Freikugel, THRYSUS, oh and not to mention DEDUE) 3. (most importantly imo) You miss all opportunities to recruit out of house characters. Since there's only THREE characters you can recruit in all the routes (Lysithea in Crimson flower, Death Knight [given] and Gilbert [given]) It'd suck if you were forced to a no recruit challenge just because you wanted to skip the 'boring parts'.
This video came in just in time as I was literally thinking of doing another Three Houses run but with the Ashen Wolves only since for some reason, I still haven't done that yet.
Honestly while I agree the Three Houses has many ways to break the game, every other fire emblem game does as well. I don't find it any different in that respect.
Another thing broken class is this game's rendition of the bow knight class have bow range +2 as a class skill which when you ad in bow range +1 from mastering bows makes it a class that the enemy can't even hit without something like bolting or meteor. Or the quick riposte skill which makes it so that as as you have a high enough health thresholds, the enemy can't double but you can on enemy phase making enemy phase cheesing a big part of this game's meta.
I actually finished Maddening without any of those strategies (except Raging Storm). Honestly I never bothered to learn what adjudants do 😅. And also I learned here how Stealth works! I think it's cool this exists. This is a really good feeling when you invest a lot into a unit and finally find a combinaison that make it powerful. Wrath and Vantage on batallion is too powerful, but I think it's fair as standard skills (if you remove the distant counter gambit). I love 3H gameplay. I had so much fun in all my playthroughs!
I never go into this game saying how broken do i want to make things. I just generally stick characters to whatever classes they favor and don't customize it too much, if at all.
What about felixs sheild that stacks with pavis aegis skills so you get them twice plus a gaurd adjutaunt. The use the crest item from ng + to put it on a high dex unit such as ignatz. insane for tanking.
Getting two characters who are classcannons into the armored knight class as early as possible fixes their hp and def problems, you are then free to do whatever you want with them
I never expected my Bernie to become such a monstrous Crit-machine. "I can do this!" "Sorry, but this is war!" I've seen her crit twice in the same turn and it's just so damn hype.
I’m looking forward to the future in which three houses is easy to emulate, and has a smooth febuilder tool to edit stuff around. There’s so much I would like to mess around with if I had an hour to fiddle with class parameters. Hopes kind of inspired me to want a master-tier Trickster and a Holy Knight that’s more Paladin+.
It can't be understated just how much of a godsend Impregnable Wall is in a Black Eagles route. No one besides Edelgard has any sort of bulk whatsoever, so once you get it you've got the power to make the squishiest of units pull a legit chokepoint (which came in handy for Hapi & Balthus' paralogue on Maddening).
I'm gonna add my 2 cents into the mix with Swift Strikes and its bow counterpart whose name I don't remember (learned by Ferdie/Sylvain/Seteth and Leonie/Cyril respectively). They may not be as busted as Hunter's Volley with its range and extra crit, but they can be used in any class for sure doubling, such as Wyvern Lord. Combine with Quick Riposte and you just made your speed stat completely irrelevant
Swift strikes and pbv are also pretty silly. sylvain in general feels like he deserves a shout-out. free recruit in all routes, free heros relic super early, gets one of the best combat arts in the game in swift strikes, great personal skill for early game damage stacking and a super easy attack support with Ingrid who is also a super free recruit because lets be honest you were gonna put byleth in a flying class regardless.
I think they did it perfectly with this game though because no one would know these things or rather should know these things on a first playthrough, but those who love playing it over and over ti see how they can cheat the system this is alot of fun
This once again reminds me that im one of the most tactically aeful players in this fandom. I just play chess wirh FE and im bately good at that. Even all the way back to Awakening. Im just here for the story and characters, the combat is fun but i could never follow the fandom's discussions of eugenics of best blooines for child units, LOL I javent bsen plYing 3H to its full potential
I think its character design is balanced in comparison to engage. Like sure you have busted shit like edelgarde and Dimitri going beast mode. But at least you dont have units fucked nearly as hard as Etie and Alfred where they become borderline useless without dumping all your rescources and sanity into them to fix their bases. Like you know you gimped a unit bad and fucked them over when the jagen is easier to use past mid ch 8 than you.
Great video! I really love seeing good discussion on Three Houses balance again. I have created a balance and overhaul mod for Three Houses called 'Fodlan Reborn' Would you be willing to take a look at my changes? I would really value your insight. I've done so much thinking on this topic and I hope to see more videos about Three Houses balance in particular! What changes would you make if you could for a richer experience?
Watching this video hours after finishing a Bydelgard-only Maddening run. Just kinda smiling at the bit about how broken Aymr is because I was relying on Raging Storm like never before. Thank god for all the Agarthium farming I did, I had to repair it 4 times.
Swords are lowest weight and ideal for doubling. Axes are highest mt and have very good classes at level 20. Lances have swift strikes which Ferdinand unlocks at A rank lances (pretty late).
I'm still playing through Three Houses, picking it back up after an almost three year hiatus. Doing well so far (on casual), but I've avoided any footage of the game to go in with my own experiences. I'm having a lot of fun with it, though I know there's a lot of broken stuff to mess with lol
Despite the brokenness of this game, the customability still makes FE3H one of the most fun game to replay. The most broken build I recall I made is an Enlightened One Byleth with stat padded Magic and Strength. Ruptured Heaven scaling with Magic one shots Nemesis even with his shields active.
How about Dance of the Goddess? Combine that with Stride for player phase and the Vantage + Wrath + Retribution combo on enemy phase. Sounds hilariously overpowered.
Yeah I didn’t understand that. Edelgard is available for 16/18 chapter missions, compared to Dimitri’s 21/22. You could bring up that he’s not tutorable from chapter 13-17, but he’s not gone from your army, he’s still very deployable. Even if you do take that away, it means he’s available for 16 chapters, which is the same as Edelgard
@@envan7865 the only way it makes sense (but not really) is if they counted Edelgard’s full route, and then counted the missions the church route shared with Edelgard’s route again, which doesn’t really make sense for availability discussions because you only play one route per save file and they are the same chapters.
I see these types of videos and thoughts a lot within the Persona and Shin Megami Tensei community as well, where people claim that the game is "super broken" or "way too easy." I think this video is great and it's really cool the strategies you're using, but when people claim that a game is super broken, as a viewer you have to remember that these come from the top 0.001% of players. To get to this point of knowledge on a game like Three Houses or any Persona or SMT game the guys making this claim have played at least 5 playthroughs; and even saying 5 is probably an understatement; especially with three houses. Great video I think it's super cool, but I've just been fed up with watching videos on people with true beyond mastery of a game's mechanics claiming that it's too easy or not well designed, or broken as heck
Maaaaaan. I haven't wanted to replay this game. But then you show me Sniper Byleth (for flavor, mc lords stick to swords or magic). And suddenly I want a playthrough using all the advanced classes because I never saw her in most of themmmmmm
Guys. In my playthrough of FE: TH, I was very focused on Edelgard. I HAVE A QUESTION. SPOILERS ALERT! Tea Times were always with her and bonds with other students were ZERO - except Lysithea. My ending was Byleth losing his abilities and Edelgard giving up the throne right after enforcing the change she always wanted. With that, I would like to ask if there are better endings with Edelgard available within the game?
My first blue lions run I had Dedue as Wyvern rider. Post time skip when he came back he was mvp of that round and was underleveled compared to everyone but Constance because I wanted the the dialogue between her and Ferdinand.
Honestly, I'm kinda glad they went all in on the sandbox aspect : I prefer limited reclassing because otherwise a lot of units can end up kinda being the same (I think Cindered Shadows was quite good because each unit has its function) but making a batch of busted peeps and break the game is also pretty fun
I'm not a huge fan of it, simply because if you want to create a sandbox build aspect, you need to balance all the classes in order to avoid the whole "reclass everyone into Wyvern Lord/Mage Knight/Warrior" problem that Engage has. A lot of units just end up getting benched because they have no niche in a game where everyone can be anything. Personally, if they want to move forward with free promotions/reclassing, I think they need to look into nerfing flying/mounted units and 1-2 range weapons.
@@LAZERAK47V2 call me crazy but you don’t _have_ to play 100% optimally. If you have more fun using a bunch of different classes, you can still do that 🤷♂️
@@dearthofdoohickeys4703 You're right, I do mono-class runs in the games. But that's the player making their own fun, rather than the game itself being fun. I've been playing Unicorn Overlord recently, and it does the class system right. Units can't cross promote and they counter each other, so you have to optimize your squads for different matchups. It's a much more fun game than Engage has been, where certain classes dominate with almost no weaknesses, other than player error (overextending). The addition of the Well, while it has helped make early joiners more viable, has also completely trivialized it. Getting early Sword Power on Chloe and giving her a Levin Sword and she can easily solo entire maps. It's the classic problem of "If everyone's super, no one will be." Let units have their niche. Give them a reason to be used beyond "the player likes them".
@@PenguinWithInternetAccess The Avatar character should be the only always-reclassable character because they tend to be force-deployed on every map, allowing the player to choose an Avatar that best suits their strategy. I liked how Fates did it, where Corrin could literally reclass into everything if they worked for it, while other units had 2 classes, 4 if they A/S supported.
I have played the game for hundreds of hours and I had no idea some of the mechanics you mentioned worked the way they do. For example, I had no idea the guard adjutant actually had a miracle effect. Pretty wild!
The game’s description of some effects can really be vague or even misleading at times when they’re really straightforward when you understand how they work. Like Sacred Shield, Fallen Star’s avoid bonus and the Prayer Ring secretly having Miracle
Sniper has very good growths for maximizing crit rate due to it having the highest bonuses to Dex and Luck. This is most relevant for characters who already lean towards that anyway, but most especially Leonie, who can camp in Sniper for a long time without gimping herself in other stats. Once her crit rate is sufficiently nonsense, train her in Assassin and Swordmaster to acquire Lethality and Astra, and then keep her in Swordmaster with whatever has the most crit (Cursed Ashiya Sword+ is of course optimal) Lethality's activation rate is 1/4 crit rate. Astra attacks 5 times. With this setup, Astra is effectively a delete button for any monster that isn't outright immune to Lethality.
I just finished NG+ replays of all four routes on Maddening. This is making me want to do NG and no DLC runs now I’d add dodge tanking too. I’ve made brawl dodge tanks untouchable (War Monk Catherine, Brawler Felix and Yuri with Fistfare) and ofc Dancer Dimitri with that Sword Avoid +20. Amp up their charm stat and only monster AoEs hit them. Wild.
Hell, if you can really maxismise their avoid, they monster AoE would practically phase right through them. Petra, Felix and my fliers scoff at monster AoEs
We don’t talk enough about how busted Constance is. Her magic tends to be even higher than Lysithea’s bc her stats are even more min-maxed than Lys’s lmao (bc of how growth rates work in 3H, having worse growths everywhere else makes her true magic growth like 78%). Her crest proccing allows her to one-shot most endgame maddening enemies 10 tiles away with bolting like 6-7 times. Add onto that: overleveling with ward and a massive rescue range with high crit and might magic like fimbulvetr and agnea’s arrow respectively, & she’s serving up more corpses than the tragedy of Nuvelle. She just NEEDS to have Uncanny Blow or hit +20, but that’s true for all the mages

Not just her, but also Thyrsus as well, as you can just ferry trade Thyrsus to the next mage after one attacks
I can’t believe the Thyrsus didn’t get a single mention at all
Put her in Valkyrie and she can have 5 range attacks for free. Then she can nosferatu tank with a defense adjutant if need be.
@@daxfer2945 once you get a hang of the game, knowing you can use Thyrsus’ main effect on basically anybody (crest limitations or not) makes it such a safe way to pick off enemies from behind your frontliners
Honestly the best thyrsus user is Hubert because he can trigger wrath vantage just by attacking with it. You should be trading it around anyway though
This is making me miss Three Houses again lmao. Maybe it's time to replay it for the 10000th time.....
Just Lysithea in general
Bernie with gauntlets and passive skill early game is absurd. If she can quad, that's just free +20 damage. Who cares if she has a bane with them?
Valkyrie + Thyrsus + Black/Dark Magic Range +1
and we took these fun engaging and interesting systems and moves..... and tossed them all in the woodchipper for engage
Shoutout to gauntlets. Not only are they brave weapons, but they also pave the way for brawl avoid +20, quick riposte, and most of all fierce iron fist.
I like to think of Three Houses like Morrowind. They’re both broken but it’s a fun kind of broken.
Yeah I slept on these. Playing now with war master byleth, ignatz and balthus and it's unstoppable.
I've missed 3H content here, happy to see it back for now.
It also goes towards your own crit in Echoes.
3h was my first fire emblem game, and now I’m a fan of the series, and the broken classes was part of charm, this is single player game, there is no need to have everything balanced at all cost, as long as it is fun
Yeah 3H basically took the balancing philosiphy of "If everything is broken, nothing is"
Except Anna, I legit have no clue what they were thinking when designing her as a playable character.
She's strong too. Just recruit her in chapter 22 and then instantly kill everyone with her.
She designed herself into the game, Anna crosses timelines and universes in the series canonically, of course she's busted
@@bobthegamingtaco6073 I thought the deal with Anna in 3H is that she's underpowered/underbaked. It's very frustrating that she cameos in other pairings' supports but is lacking in having her own supports. And supports are super strong in 3H.

Has it seriously been 5 years since Three Houses came out?
I still remember getting that game day 1. Time flies.
The fact that this game is broken is one of the reasons I love it so much.
Gross

Every day I wake up and thank Sothis that despite it being nearly five years old, we’re still talking about Three Houses, whether it’s gameplay, lore, characters, theories or whatever, I don’t think I’ll ever get enough, positive or negative
Meanwhile, Engage…
I'd say engage is more interesting gameplay wise than three houses, but yeah it didn't get as popular as 3H
After finishing Fe3h in maddening I can confirm that hunter's volley saved my ass on so many occasions
Playing through Azure Moon was my first Fire Emblem experience, and I now understand why my axe wielding, wyvern riding Cyril (with Gilbert as an adjutant) was my best unit. 😆
Wyverns can only get flying classes as adjutants and none of the flying classes provide guard adjutants
@@666Kaca maybe they changed gilbert's class
I don't know that I'll use any of these strategies, but this definitely reminded me I need to get around to playing Three Houses already. I watch so many videos on this series without actually playing these days.
its been so long since i've played Three Houses but the thumbnail is the perfect embodiment of how my run went. Sending out Edelgard to crit sweep a map was insanely satisfying.
i pair her with Wyvern Petra and Wyvern Ash 😎
i loved my tricker marianne healing the front line and one shotting with her spellblade while being safe thanks to stealth
Daamn that was a smooth ad transition, 10/10
Swift Strikes became a favorite of mine on Maddening. Can't double? Who cares! It's another brave combat art, so just take your strongest lance and murder them! Sylvain makes really good use of it because his Crest can proc with either strike. Didn't usually need it, but hey, it's nice to have. It does take A-rank lances, though, and only Sylvain, Ferdinand, and Seteth get it
recently completed this game twice, still love the story, role-playing, and action
This video inspired me to go on to finish my maddening 3H playthrough that has been previously walled by giga range Edelgard.
I love how this video comes out just when I started another my blue lions play through
There’s also another one I’d like to add, though it’s probably only achievable on NG+: high accuracy, doubling weapons.
And finally, (Spoilers) knight. distant counter. enough said.
is there a playlist for all the music used in this video? I'd like the song especially at 21:07

I once did a "mobile fortress" build where I had 4 tanks (including dodge tanks), 4 siege times, and 4 Assassin's or Tricksters with good rallies and utility spells
It was very fun, would recommend. I did use new game+ though to get it set up a fair bit earlier
The Siege Tome units were either Gremory for it's 2x Bolting spells and using those crest items to sometimes not burn a spell use. Or they were Thoron Valkyries with the Range Staffs

I'd class this game somewhere in the middle of my list of favorite fe gameplay. It was not boring but i didn't have the most fun with how repetitive the maps are overall being exactly the same. Wish the game spawned us on different parts of the map to show where we are coming from. Would have made the gameplay interesting to see if a different area would make it easier or harder to clear maps
Or just let us skip part 1 like how fates did the branching in chapter 5 instead
Did Fates let you skip the prologue before the decision point? I honestly don't remember.
Since there's only THREE characters you can recruit in all the routes (Lysithea in Crimson flower, Death Knight [given] and Gilbert [given]) It'd suck if you were forced to a no recruit challenge just because you wanted to skip the 'boring parts'.
i’m so glad to see fe3h content still, it was my first fe game and it holds a very near and dear place in my heart
*when you get 3 viksam from the online shop not knowing what they are* couldn’t be me.
Vengeance made Dedue my go-to Death Knight counter during NG maddening mode. 👊
I thought that I was of passing skill at 3H. This video has dispelled that illusion.

I never finished this game bc I felt like I had to running around the school 90% of the time to try and find the items and all that.
Try not to one turn clear every post timeskip map possible challenge: impossible
those things make this game so fun to me, i like doing absolutely ridiculous stuff in a single player game
So boring
I clicked because I saw Edelgard 😅🥰 A very interesting video, thank you!
Alert stance is basically stealth but for a better class. As long as you have a player turn to spare it can be used to ignore any and all attacks
I love your effort, editong and voice. And FE3h of course 💙💙 being my alltime favourite game. Thanks for the great video
Nope, Assassin/War Master Byleth for me
Any day Faerghast uploads Three Houses content is a good day
This is why this game is fun to replay. All the unique combats are fun to play around with.
I think they did it perfectly with this game though because no one would know these things or rather should know these things on a first playthrough, but those who love playing it over and over ti see how they can cheat the system this is alot of fun

Watching this video hours after finishing a Bydelgard-only Maddening run. Just kinda smiling at the bit about how broken Aymr is because I was relying on Raging Storm like never before. Thank god for all the Agarthium farming I did, I had to repair it 4 times.
what are the differences between sword, lance and axe? for fernando, he has proficiency of all three. which one to choose?
Swords are lowest weight and ideal for doubling. Axes are highest mt and have very good classes at level 20. Lances have swift strikes which Ferdinand unlocks at A rank lances (pretty late).
@@OriginalRaisins sword>axe> lance?
I'm still playing through Three Houses, picking it back up after an almost three year hiatus. Doing well so far (on casual), but I've avoided any footage of the game to go in with my own experiences. I'm having a lot of fun with it, though I know there's a lot of broken stuff to mess with lol
Despite the brokenness of this game, the customability still makes FE3H one of the most fun game to replay.
The most broken build I recall I made is an Enlightened One Byleth with stat padded Magic and Strength. Ruptured Heaven scaling with Magic one shots Nemesis even with his shields active.
I think the customizable nature of 3H is part of the reason it’s so busted
I'm surprised you didn't mention, I would argue that
I was also surprised, and was gonna argue it too.
Edelgard in the thumbnail lookin' like a Dimitri copycat
I mean, Aymr practically being one of the most busted relics is some twisted joke alright
You know what else is a twisted joke?
Sending general hilda into a mob of 15 physical units and watching them fall in front of her while she chants her own name
How about Dance of the Goddess? Combine that with Stride for player phase and the Vantage + Wrath + Retribution combo on enemy phase. Sounds hilariously overpowered.
Wait. How does edelgard have better availability than dimitri? Her route is the shortest and she’s absent from two chapters of her route
Why do I constantly forget about Wyvern Rider??

I never looked up strats for FE3H, so I had no clue most of these existed. I suffered on maddening for nothing 😭
This is such a nice video , I enjoy just watching how easily you can make power houses to delete the Games content
@@LAZERAK47V2 I honestly think they should just heavily restrict reclassing, make it a ng+ mechanic or tied to items that can be found scarcely
It's the classic problem of "If everyone's super, no one will be."
Let units have their niche.
I feel soft locked on maddening mode Battle of Eagle and Lion... the White Clouds one where permadeath is turned off
I have played the game for hundreds of hours and I had no idea some of the mechanics you mentioned worked the way they do.
Is it really worse than Awakening? Even with cheese strats maddening is still challenging
Sniper has very good growths for maximizing crit rate due to it having the highest bonuses to Dex and Luck. This is most relevant for characters who already lean towards that anyway, but most especially Leonie, who can camp in Sniper for a long time without gimping herself in other stats. Once her crit rate is sufficiently nonsense, train her in Assassin and Swordmaster to acquire Lethality and Astra, and then keep her in Swordmaster with whatever has the most crit (Cursed Ashiya Sword+ is of course optimal)
Lethality's activation rate is 1/4 crit rate. Astra attacks 5 times. With this setup, Astra is effectively a delete button for any monster that isn't outright immune to Lethality.
What is the name of the outro song? :D
I want the next Fire Emblem to be in the same universum literally in any of the previous games.
Cuz it would bw nice to revisit them in some way
there is only one way to play though, and that's thyrsus lysithea
I just finished NG+ replays of all four routes on Maddening. This is making me want to do NG and no DLC runs now
I’d add dodge tanking too.
@@LFPman oh, you’re right. I maybe had bad RNG one time that scarred me
I'm a casual and I did about 7 of these. Didn't do vengeance, retribution and battalion wrath
