@Noartist I understand, to a degree, the desire to not have outside influence. Japan is a perfect example of a racist, xenophobic country, that never gets called out. The difference is that our country was founded entirely by immigrants. Japan is a centuries old empire. Canada has never had a set of universal values, like Japan, or England even. It's way too diverse, way too big. Canada is a place where immigrants gambled on their future. I think we need to remember that. It's not a place with a proud heritage. What our government has done to the First Nations for 300 years is nothing short of revolting. Canada the definition of a post-nationalist, corporate nation. All that said, I'd rather live here than anywhere else in the world. But part of Canada's charm comes from the fact that its values change with the changes in immigration. Mandarin is the second most common language in downtown Toronto now. Punjabi is the most common language in Peel region(!!), the second most populated region in the country. Assuming you're not native (which, if you are, my bad) we have no place to tell other immigrant cultures how to act.

@Noartist yep the respect and curtesy seem to have disappeared, I realize it’s not just a Canadian change but everywhere, the drug issues , violence and self entitlement has become so prevalent everywhere, I guess growing up in a very different era and culture, my grand parents were from the old country (Ukraine) I had a very different perspective, yes there were race and cultural bias but there was also a lot more respect in most cases .. folks tried to get along and fit together at least . Seems everyone’s bitching and demanding more and more rather than putting in an effort to be a part of Society as a whole . Yes there were cultural issues back in the day even my small town was divided to the Italian/ Chinese/European/ German sections but it came together as a small mining town..a community

@Noartist
I understand, to a degree, the desire to not have outside influence.
As a Canadian I completely agree with Bill's take. People think we are so nice and considerate but we really aren't much different compared to the US. Previous generations best is George Carlin though, 100%
Him and Dave Chappelle
"the rent is too high here". Yeah, come to Canada. American cities are half the cost of living as Canadian cities, on average.
Conan's appreciation of Bill's dark humor and depressive outlook always makes me smile lmao
Bill should definitely be a co-host
He's far too funny to co-host something lol.
This guy called out racism in hockey before other people did😂
@Peter Lemonjello I think that’s his point lol
Canada is arguably more racist than 75% of America
@@QuacksThePoet French Canada is definitely more racist than most of America. I read stories about people who've worked in the big French Canadian companies. Their hierarchy goes like French employee (from France)> French Canadian employee > Anglo employee > Everyone else. It's hard to make it in some of those big companies unless you're French something.
@@Pantano63 I'm not shocked, French whites are some of the most racist people i've ever encountered.
@@crazyrapidz1 Curious to know: is it predominately French Canadian whites and/or French European whites?
I miss Conan. He was truly funny I found from all other shows. Great character. Watched him since a kid.
Going to hbo
