"YOU CAN DO IT!!" I loved watching the videos of that math teacher. He was so enthusiastic. I borrowed those words in my teaching.....the students loved it. Thanks for making the very easy to follow De-Winterize video.
Thanks for the great tutorial. We just bought our travel trailer in March and hitting the road in a few weeks - I've been watching a lot of videos and yours was easy and straight to the point. Thanks again!
This is an excellent video. I took notes to capture each step in the process, and I now have a reference sheet that will be very useful when I de-winterize. My wife and I recently sold our pop-up camper, and purchased a Micro Minnie 2106DS. Looking forward to our first trip this spring.
Thanks for the refresher course! I used you winterizing video for my 2108TB before the winter. Now it’s time to de-winterize. I know that I could’ve just followed the steps backwards, but this video is handy yo have. Thanks again. - great easy to follow content.
Thanks for watching. Glad it is helpful. We’ve all been noobs at some point so figure it’s good to share what we’ve learned cuz we were there once too 😁
Thanks so much for this! We are first time RVers, and we just bought a new 2021 Micro Minnie 2100BH. First task is de-winterize, so I very much appreciate that I can look at your video and see exactly what to do. Subscribing for sure!
This is only my 2nd year with my Micro Minnie 2108 DS. Last year after I bought it I didn’t do anything when I got down south except hook up the water and let the pink run through. Didn’t know about the valves, etc. Haven’t used the tt since last April except for a weekend trip. I had it winterized by the dealer (so I wouldn’t mess up anything) and the service man told me he left the valves in the correct position so I wouldn’t have to access them when I use it soon. But this video sounds like I have to switch the valves before using the water heater so as not to get the antifreeze into my water heater. I will go and review your other video on winterizing as that may help me. I stay at full hookup campgrounds when down south so don’t use my fresh water tank. Thanks for this video. I will review again.
This was so incredibly helpful. Wife and I just bought a 2306BHS and we’re about to take it on our first trip. Since we got it dry, I assume it’s similar steps of just checking everything is right with the hot water heater valves among other things. Thanks for this! Such a great video.
Thank you! That is definitely one nice advantage to living in Texas. What would you say is your favorite area to camp in Texas? I have family there so we might take our rig that way one day.
That little "tool" for filling the fresh water tank is GENIUS. You should have a link to that in your description, I'd buy that right now. Good walk through. What about the low point drains, do you do anything with those?
Here is a link for that tool to shutoff when filling your water tank up - amzn.to/3ksjSL0 (i just put it up in the description too per your tip, thanks!) No need to do anything with the low point drains. You will need those closed in order to pressurize the system and get flow through your sink. A lot of times they are not too far from the outdoor shower so if you run clean water through there it will help flush everything out.
That’s a great video. Thanks for the helpful tips. One thing I would add, to improve your sanitation, is to have a spray bottle with isopropanol to spray all your fresh water fittings prior to hooking up - particularly when you’ve had them lying on the ground.
Is there a video To sanitize the pipes after the antifreeze has been flushed out? A little (half a cup of bleach) into the fresh water tank and CLOSE the hot water (red pipe) valve to the water heater? Then run the pipes by turning on the water pump and running both hot and cold faucets and let the bleach and water mixture run it’s course. Then once fill with fresh water to clean out the bleach? Would they be the correct method? First time trailer owner. Thanks in advance…Gordon
Yes you want to open up and run water on the outside shower. I don’t open the low point drains to dewinterize because my outside shower pretty much flushes it all out already. You could let it drip if you wanted to, I’ve never had the need to open those.
Question: at the beginning, you put the rod plug in.. then started filling the fresh water tank.. do you leave that on/off switch for the hot water heater on the on or off position then turn it on after you turn the bipass valves toward the tank? Or can you turn that water heater switch to the “on” at that very first step.??
Good question. I think understand what you are asking. You want to keep the hot water valve bypassed until you have fresh water running clear throughout the rig. This makes sure you don’t end up with pink in the hot water tank. Once it’s all clear, then remove the bypass so the hot water tank can fill up. Regarding the on off switch that just heats it up which there is not need until you are out camping and have it filled with clean water.
Thanks again for another great video! We are in Missouri the weather change by the hour lol. And I was wondering how hard it was to dewinterize if the weather got warm. Thanks. Could I use the city water hook up and dewinterize at a site?
Great question! And I feel ya on the temp changes. It just dropped below freezing again here in Colorado after being in the 70s a day ago. All you need is water to run through your system and then a dump to clear your tanks. So a full hookup site is pretty ideal. Change your hot water bypass after you flush it out and you are good to go.
I don’t but that is a good idea for us to make this spring. I think it depends how old your rig is but all I would do is put a tiny amount of bleach in the tank and then flush it through.
I don’t think I did but here is a link - Camco Water Tank Filler with Shutoff Valve- Quickly and Efficiently Helps Fill Your Water Tank and Eliminates Line Backflow - Lead Free (5/8" Tube) (40003) www.amazon.com/dp/B0006IX850/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_B6F9XBR90ZM3YN47T8A5
I hate the pink stuff so much, I run a full water tank through about equally on the sink & showers, dump, refill with 10% bleach solution, run all that through, dump via low-point drain, fill tank with fresh, run sink/shower, dump, fill again and dump via low-point, and then fill with clean water. If I smell even a hint of bleach still, I'll flush that tank either by low point or sink/shower and dump and fill again. Maybe a little overkill, but I really like my water clean.
If you are talking about winterizing, then yes (but this comment was on a DE-winterizing video). There are two main ways to winterize. One uses an air compressor, the other (as shown in the video) just drains all the water out and utilizes anti-freeze without using an air compressor. Both ways seem to work well, it’s really just a personal preference I think. With dewinterizing, you really just have to get everything all hooked back up and run water until all of the antifreeze is out of the lines.
Whysl is it necessary to use antifreeze in the water lines when you are gonna be drinking g from them ...couldn't you just drain all water in the winter .... I'm very confused on the purpose and benefit of using toxic chemicals to keep.my lines from freezing when I can simply not let water sit in it ?!?!? Not trying to be an ass hat genuinely want to know I'm a first time minnie winnie owner wondering wtf this video is showing me and why

Make sure there is always water in your hot water heater before turning the element on. It will burn out quickly otherwise. Learned that the hard way.
Well done 👍. We haven’t winterized our rig but we also live in Texas 🤪. Looks straight forward 🤙
Thank you! That is definitely one nice advantage to living in Texas.

Yep, your a pro at many things Chadwick. Awesome channel.
Thanks, man.
Exactly what I needed; very simple and straightforward. Thank you!
i watch this video every spring and the winterize one every fall. We have the 1800BH :) thanks
This is so helpful thank you for doing these!!

Back, …. cause it’s that time again!
Hi..do need to connect a hose to remove the anti freeze on the black water flush tank or its not really necessary?ty

@@ChadwickFamilyFilms ok. Ty for clarification on that.
What’s your method for sanitizing the fresh water tank?

All you need is water to run through your system and then a dump to clear your tanks. So a full hookup site is pretty ideal.
Change your hot water bypass after you flush it out and you are good to go.

I don’t but that is a good idea for us to make this spring.

Can you just hook a hose up to the city water and turn it on then open and close each faucet?
Yes. That would work. Just make sure you are allowing water back into your hot water tank too.

Where do you dispose that pink crap at
I know what to do with the black hose knob but what position should the knob be in after it?
After you are done using the black syphon hose, you should turn the knob back to the original closed position.
What about the knob that follows the bACK KNOB? wHERE SHOULD IT BE SET? W
Not sure I am following what you are asking about.
Does this method mean that I do not have to use an air pump to blow the water out of the lines and end up with only antifreeze in the pipes?
If you are talking about winterizing, then yes (but this comment was on a DE-winterizing video). There are two main ways to winterize. Where is this storage? I low key think we store at the same exact place
What size tires on ur trailer
They are 15” tires.
Takes 6 gallons to fill up water heater. Takes a couple of minutes

Not a “Hot water heater”….just water heater. :)
