    RV De-winterize Checklist: keepyourdaydream.com/dewinterize
    Follow Ronnie @ / airstream_nuts_and_bolts
    ℹ️ About the Episode:
Depending on where you live, it might be time to de-winterize. If it's still too cold, don't despair-the long wait is almost over! What a winter it's been for the west. We've wanted to share a de-winterizing video for years, but as we're from Arizona, this really isn't a practice we do each year. In fact, when it gets too cold in Flagstaff (northern Arizona), we just drive 1 hour south to Camp Verde to avoid the whole thing! 😂 The truth is, winterizing (and de-winterizing) really isn't that difficult. In fact, it's a great opportunity to check all the systems on your RV to make sure you have a successful season ahead. Ronnie from ‪@airstreamnutsandbolts‬ shares the most important steps to de-winterize, including what to do with the tires, water heater, fresh water tank, part inspections and lubrication.

Incredibly helpful! Y'all and Ronnie have taken my cobbled together de-winterizing process and made it a more seamless and accurate spring project. We keep our camper under a canopy at a Texas ranch in the winter and bring it back to Colorado for spring, summer and fall use in the Rockies and beyond. I'll do all this stuff while down there and it'll be good to go once we head north. Also, I have the water heater tank cleaner, Corrosion X and Boeshield in my Amazon cart. Looking forward to seeing you headed to Canada! Thanks again!!! Rocky & Julia.

As far as the calcium buildup and hard water we use a portable water softener no matter where we are at. After living outside of Phoenix we realized what hard water can do to normal household plumbing. I can only imagine what it would do to rv piping.

We live in Oakville, just outside of Toronto. We’d love to host you if you come through here on your way home. You could boondock in our driveway. Well… make sure you buy “Origami for Airstreams” first. Our driveway’s not the biggest.

Excellent video y'all! I've been slowly getting our 5er ready for upcoming travels this summer. We're in Texas so winterizing for us is drained the water lines. I just had the wheel bearings repacked along with having the brakes checked and we're in great shape. I'm in the process now of bringing the shine back to the finish by hand. It's a 2010 fiberglass model. It's got some oxidation going on. This video reminded me to lube my rear stabilizers and slides so I'm not Mr. Squeaky in the campground setting up at night. Safe travels y'all! Enjoy NS.

When in Cape Breton don't miss Louisbourg, maybe look into lighting the cannon! It's the most amazing National Historic site I've ever been to. Baddeck is beautiful. Actually the whole island is wonderful. As with most National Parks, Highlands books quickly. There are no public dump stations on the island.
After going that far it would be a shame to miss Newfoundland. We spent a month there in 2019, it wasn't enough time so we went back and spent two months last summer. Best hiking trails anywhere in my opinion.

If you return to the USA via Ontario after the Nova Scotia trip, I highly suggest stopping to see Andy Thomson at Can-Am RV in London Ontario. He's done some unique Airstream things - including testing towing an Airstream from London to Colorado Springs - with a Tesla. His shop is right between the 401 and 402 - the two major highways that connect Ontario with Michigan.

We travelled across Canada last summer. We left in May and returned to BC in August. We spent a month in NS. 😍. Get a National Park pass, then you don’t have to pay for every National Park entrance ticket, or stop at the park entrance booths. New Brunswick and PEI are also a must see! If you have the time take the ferry over to PEI it’s free but is 2hrs and take the bridge back as it is way cheaper than the ferry.

Great video as usual guy's. Nova Scotia, Montreal, Toronto - be still our beating Canadian hearts! Going to Nebraska - head north from Toronto to Tobermory, Ontario - take the Chi Cheemaun Ferry (2 hour trip) over to Manitoulin Island. Head north west along Hwy 17 (Trans-Canada Highway) up through Sault Ste. Marie (my hometown) the KOA there is fantastic, or go a bit further if you want a Provincial Park. Then proceed along the north shore of Lake Superior (Superior Circle Tour) through Thunder Bay then south to Duluth while making your way to Nebraska. In any event and what ever route you take, have a great summer to remember - safe travels. Doug & Deb

You will love Quebec City. It's like France in N. America. And I'm sure you're planning it but go to Fortress Louisbourg and drive the Cabot Trail in Nova Scotia. And you really shouldn't get that close to PEI and not go see Green Gables. And, how can you get that close to Newfoundland and not go? It's like a different country but you're still in Canada.
Careful about the fruit at the border though.

If you come past Toronto, you are welcome to stay at my farm just off the 401 near London. I have 30 Amp and water. You can come see how a Tesla tows an Airstream as well. It's a cool experience.

When you hit Nova Scotia you should go see the Blue Nose II sailing ship . It's on our dime. The original Blue Nose never lost a sailing match.

We had the outdoor shower freeze and had to fix it one spring. Safe to say we forgot to winterize it. Out of sight, out of mind.

Based on previous travel experience, I would probably skip Toronto but hit Ottawa {our capital}, Quebec City is a must, the Eastern half of PEI, Cape Breton, and the Halifax/Lunenburg/PG area.

Thanks to you guys... I finally found out when Columbus Day is.
You said the RV "season" is Memorial Day through Columbus Day. I said, "That can't be right." But here, Old Mr. Google said it's in mid-October and *NOT* mid-February as I was incorrectly thinking. President's Day ... Columbus Day... who knew?!? 😆
