This one meant a little more to me because I played with one just like it as a kid. Thanks! Seeing it all restored brought back lots of fond memories. We didn’t have a lot of toys but we made use of all the ones we had. Those were great times.
Agreed. I had one of these. My brothers and I loved it. It's so strange seeing something I haven't thought about for so many years. I think it was that Tonka yellow color that initially jarred my memory.
Same here, we are the same age, I had this, and a moving van, red truck, with a white trailer; I keep waiting for that one to show up.... Oh, I still have the red truck even though the trailer is long gone...
wow.........that was amazing very professional work very nicely done......but you forgot one thing........these originally had loading ramps that went with it I used to have one of these as a kid.......there should have been 2 slots for the end of the loading ramps to go in on the lower deck and a ramp holder underneath the end of the trailer
Wow, what a fabulous addition to a fantastic line up of Tonka trucks. I sure enjoyed the end where you showcased a number of the trucks you have done all together.
Hi, so enjoy the videos, was missing the thumbs up on the 62 car carrier, enjoy comments, the sheep being expelled with air fron the truck, to see " i' m ok "is a chuckle and a smile , thanks
I had one of these when I was little. It was my favorite. My mother always get a laugh because later on in my life I ended up transporting cars for a living. Very nice work. 👍
WOW what an amazing job! Love the powder coat finish . I do auto body work and that’s the way to go over painting the trucks . Be proud of what you do!
Thank you for your videos, they have made me start recording after having the channel for a long time, congratulations on your work. You are a inspiration.
Very Good work on these Classic Toys, at bringing them back to life, Oh & from the background noise you must live on a busy street, lol. But All & all, Good work on The classic toy restoration
Great restoration Chip. At this rate and the outstanding quality of workmanship your collection will need to find a bigger home. My garage is free!!!!!!
,,It is so satisfying to see the toy's l played with as a kid being restored. Kid's toy's today aren't built to last. I played with them year around, the reason I stopped?- l learned how to ride a bike.. l still have the original large TONKA dump truck.please keep up the EXCELLENT WORK!! and yes,l definitely subscribed.
Not much I can add to the comments already here! Stunning work as always, and a worthy addition to the earlier restorations. These ought to be displayed in a glass cabinet, or along a shelf. Truly museum worthy, and as usual, faultless workmanship.
I I stumbled onto your channel via Facebook, and I’m in love. It’s so relaxing, and you are so good at it! I love the sandblasting. Giving new life to toys - you rock!
Ahaaa, the car transporter, I had spotted it for a while yessss! Another very beautiful congratulation, bravo ! Only a few sheet metal cars are missing !!
I had one of those haulers when i was a kid. I still have the hauler minus the cars. Neighbor kid took them one day. As I remember they were plastic. I think it came with three. two cars and a truck. Been trying to find those. No luck.
@@paulp1166 Hello Paul, I am French, the translator changes the meaning of the sentences a bit. I wanted to say: It would be nice with sheet metal cars for presentation (it doesn't matter if it's original, I think it would be cooler than with plastic cars)
G'day and greetings from Tasmania Australia absolutely fantastic restoration job you did on that I am glad that I have subscribed to your channel as it is great to see you take a rust ridden toy and bring it back to new. It shows just you can do especially how they are when you get them, stay safe John
Here is a tip that will save you some money. As long as the wheels aren't too wobbly, re-use them. Use something fairly strong like Vantastic, clean them. Use a toothbrush. You want to pull as much of the dirt out as you can. It might even take the very top layer of hard rubber off. Which is a good thing. Once you get them clean and dry, spray them with black vinyl dye. It will bring the color back to the old rubber. After they dry, spray them with either mat clear or satin clear. That way they will have a shine. But not too shiny. When you put new whitewalls on and new caps, nobody will notice it. It will blend right in. Those wheels cost a lot. This will save you some money. If you have one that is wobbly but the tread is still good, this works on some, but not all. Use a small piece of shrink tubing right where the wheel rides. You might have to make the hole in the wheel slightly larger by drilling them out. But, if you drill it right the shrink tube will take up the slack and tighten up the tire on the axle. Use black shrink tubing. With the wheel on it, nobody will ever see it or realize it's there.
I can't remember if Tonka made it or not, but I can remember my little brother had a red tanker truck. It had steering, if you tilted the cab right the front wheels turned right and the same for turning left. It was about the size of the car Carrier you just done. It didn't have a trailer it was one piece. I love your collection. Keep up the good work and stay safe.
I had a transport exactly like that; it came with two Corvettes, a red one, and a yellow one... Oh, and it had a black ramp so the cars could drive up on the transport...
@@paulp1166 After I had to move out of state for employment, my father got rid of most of my Tonka trucks, I still have the truck minus the trailer from a moving van, and a Buddy L dump truck. The Buddy L is in perfect condition because I received that when I was a little older.
Another top notch restoration, Chip. I did like the two old toys on top. They look really good and ready for transport to the car show of 2020. You make my day off nicer with these videos. Keep up the greatness!
I got the same truck. Got mine in 1960 at four years old. Still have it on display in my house, in very good condition, never been outside.
Great work for these vintage Tonka trucks n vehicles that you are restoring again n they bring back old vintage memories

It's curious, because if you watch disassembly, there is only one slot in the middle. I wonder if this year came with a separate ramp?
Fascinating how you take them apart and are able to put them back together without having extra parts leftover...lol Beautiful restoration .
good job my dear friend
