    One of the best sounding plugins out there right now. Hats off to Pulsar.

    ALL the Pulsar Modular plugins are spectacular. Expensive, yes, fairly CPU intensive, yes, but the sound… the sound…

      For me they have taken the lead ahead of UAD and acustica.

      Yes. Everyone complaining about their prices should go ahead and waste their money on analog equipment and we‘ll see how much they get for the money 😂

    Mark, how do you compare this to Michelangelo in terms of “analog magic”?

    • @heronislandstudio8054
      @heronislandstudio8054  4 месяца назад +5

      I think Michelangelo is also extremely good, I did a review on this channel. It sounds really different from the 455. I think these two plugins are the best example I've heard of what really great analog gear can bring. Acustica also has some which sound great in this way, but they are not as versatile and the modules don't seem to interact that way that the 455 or Michelangelo do.

    Btw your voice over audio sounds a bit weird in this specific video.
    Much enjoyed the music again though

    This plugin will hit an i7 16 core cpu at 10% per instance. It won't be going across a big project unless you print the tracks.. Sounds really good but at a major cpu cost.

    • @heronislandstudio8054
      @heronislandstudio8054  4 месяца назад +1

      It's not as CPU heavy as Acustica plugins but yes it does require some CPU for this level of emulation. I'm not noticing much of a hit on a Apple M1, but yes worth being aware of this if you don't have a super fast processor.

    I would say the p455 is getting somewhere - its getting closer to analog - is it analog ? no - but .... give it a couple of years , a better computer and threre maybe some good SSLs and Neves - meanwile the kiive Nfuse is the best

  • @garethde-witt6433

    If people want an analog sound why not just use analog hardware instead of all these fake digital analog plugins and don’t use computers

    • @kadiummusic
      @kadiummusic 4 месяца назад +4

      Because some of us don't have the room for it, or can afford it, or want the hassle of maintaining it, and that's even if the hardware is still available. So why not? 😎

    • @Reggi_Sample
      @Reggi_Sample Месяц назад +2

      The hardware modelled here is probably worth 50-100k. As for cheap hardware you're better off with this, honestly. Then there's presets, recall-ability lack of maintenance and repair needs. Get it yet? A lot of us already have hardware and wish to combine this with the best sounding vsts, that's why we are here :)

    Not at all impressed. Firstly, the signal mutes when inserting the EQ? That alone is a deal-breaker, totally unnecessary. I’m trying hard to mention one positive impression I get from this. Sorry, but I can’t.
    Further, I don’t need every last thing explained to me in five different ways. I want only to hear, not to be sold.

      Ya because heaven forbid you can't make a default preset and set that as your new default.. lol it's not rocket science and compared to actually running a real api setup one click isn't gonna kill ya 😂

    • @pulsarmodular
      @pulsarmodular 4 месяца назад +18

      We made P455 zero latency. However, this is not the case when you engage the EQ which needs to oversample, as such, it needs to reset the data buffer for latency compensation. Each DAW deals with this differently. Some, you can hear a faint click others like Cubase mutes the signal. HOWEVER, you can use the modifier key to turn off/on the bands to preview without getting the click or mute effect.
