  • A Treasure of Treasures - the Gold Standard, perhaps?? The is one of the - if not THE - greatest match of the 90's - an entire DECADE! The FINALS of the 1995 SANDS REGENCY OPEN XXI, between the biggest heavy weights of the decade - Efren REYES and Earl STRICKLAND - both in their prime! Earl "The Pearl" and Efren "The Magician" certainly confirmed their nicknames in this match! And, yes, this is the match with the "shot heard 'round the world" - Efren's famous "Z-Shot"! Don't miss this one!

    Just the technical difficulty of the shot alone would probably already make it the best shot ever recorded. To make it at a finals on the hill (for both sides) is just ridiculous and fiction like... I doubt we will ever witness anything like this. To top it off, the final interview with Earl's outstanding sportsmanship just shows how unearthly this moment was. Who can watch this and not have goosebumps all over? Beautiful moment from the two best players EVER ♥️

E gostei do reconhecimento dele pra grande jogada. Porque, depois de mais velho, ele ficou bem nervoso. rsrs Não sei se hoje ele aceitaria

  • @WigoKing
    @WigoKing 3 года назад +8

    @1:35:00 Most people think it was a lucky shot but you can clearly see Efren pointing at the 8 ball before he took the shot. It was a 2-way shot. If he missed his target it's gonna be a safety.

    • @ugaugauga488
      @ugaugauga488 2 года назад

      This was not lucky. It was intended, not accidental. It was the only solution, and it was carefully executed. It's been done before by many but not under those championship circumstances. Efren is that skilled as everyone knows, and it's naive of anyone to claim it to be just luck. If Earl had done it, who would call it a lucky shot? Like Earl said, McCready did it before. Someone in this post himself tried and achieved it, after 15 attempts.

  • @mehdim544
    @mehdim544 4 года назад +13

    The 7 guided him a little on the kick, cause he had to miss the 7 short, however the speed and spin he used to actually come off the second rail and pot the 5. The guy kicked that shot and made on a hill hill match whilst getting perfect position. Would take about 30 attempts for any other player knowing the shot by watching this video, let alone doing this with limited time and on the fly. Efren was born to play pool.

    • @DronedLove
      @DronedLove 8 месяцев назад

      @@justincole1606that was a bad rack. Wouldn't happen these days but back then the referee could influence the break if they didn't get the balls frozen imo.
      His big error was the careless combination in frame 7 imo, and he scratched on another break but they both missed a lot of shots you'd expect then to get 99/100

    Thank you, Accu-Stats Video Productions, for this and to everyone. OMG, what a game and what a shot. Indeed, it is the greatest shot ever, not because it was done but how and under what circumstances it was done. It's one of the few times that I've seen Earl behave and he was very classy there at the end. That's the way it should be. Efren of course is something else. Despite his weaknesses he's proved himself to be the GOAT.

    Yeah, Earl KNEW there was no coming back from that Z-shot. He didn't even make him shoot the 9, he was so amazed at that shot. Efren will be remembered for a long time as the GOAT but like Babe Ruth's called homer this one shot will define him long after he is gone. You get few chances to watch a generational sports personality but I'm glad I have had a few to marvel over like Jordan, Tiger, Earnhart, Brady and Efren--people who define their respective sports.
