Seeing this movie opening night in theaters was one of the most fun experiences I've had; the entire theater was packed with fans loving every scene and callback.
The whole theater sang Head Cha la when the remix kicked in. It sounded pretty good too.
My two favorite moments were the God transformation for Vegeta and the tease of UI for Goku. Crowd in my theater was so loud for those.
When Gogeta did the Soul Punisher/Stardust Breaker my theater lost it lmao
We were all damn near standing up during the fight in the theater

Rest in Peace to Chris Ayres. This was his last time playing Freeza, and he did it while ill. His portrayal of the character ever since FUNimation did Dragon Ball Kai is a big reason why the character received the respect in america that he didn’t receive with his prior portrayal. Freeza is by far the most famous and iconic villain of Dragon Ball and Chris’s performance as well as the improved writing helped us finally understand why in English. The man was the GOAT and went far too soon.
Dude that is way off. I love Chris Ayres Frieza as much as the next person but Frieza has ALWAYS been famous and iconic. Maybe you read some random fan post saying otherwise but as someone who has been in the fandom since Z was airing on Cartoon Network, people have always loved Frieza as a villain. Hell Im sure youll still find some people who prefer Linda Young to Chris Ayres. I personally prefer Chris, but Linda didnt make Frieza a "joke" or anything of the sort.

Navi needs to rewatch that fight towards the end because broly didnt even touch gogeta blue and he was base form when he was shown appearing on his planet so he was aboout to die there
To be fair I don't think that was because of a massive power difference between them but just straight up skill, plus broly was completely going feral. I imagine he'd still lose even if he was calm and had the same amount of strength he showed against gogeta blue but he'd definitely have put up a better fight at the end
@@DeathKnells I doubt it. Gogeta was going toe to toe with Broly in SSJ1. He still had SSJ2, 3 and God which he justs kipped because he was done playing around. There's not a single possible way that Broly was any stronger than let's say SSJ3 Gogeta at the most.

Duh I know how his power works I was saying that the gap in raw power is not that big between them and that Gogetas combat skill was the real factor in that part of the fight and 3. I highly doubt that since Broly had also gone into his Legendary form (no canon confirmed name for it)
@EskChan19 You act like theres not a massive power gap inbetween each form, literally Broly having his power multiplied by the measly 10x multiplier Great Ape forms have was able to have him keep up with ssg and ssb. We don't know the power multiplier for the legendary form but its clearly not just a ssj2 or ssj3 power up and he went that in the last fight against gogeta blue

Broly's eyes came back to normal when he saw that Kamehameha and you can see the fear in his eyes. It was definetely going to end him

Does Tarble’s inclusion in the Broly movie contradict the timeline because of his age gap to Vegeta? This movie retconned a lot of things so I just assumed Tarble got retconned too.
I know Broly's power level is ridiculous, but Fusion power levels are even more ridiculous. Gogeta was mopping the floor with Broly and they were about to vaporize him with that Kamehameha. He 100% got his life saved by that wish

I like this movie. While it was an exploration of Broly in an actually canon lense, it also gave us a look into Frieza being cunning and not actually taking the spotlight but rather manipulating from behind the scenes. Him taking out Paragus and then pretending it was a stray blast of energy from Goku or Broly actually almost took me out
Ironically, Frieza didn't learn his lesson from last time pulling that stunt and got his ass beat again. In hindsight, that was not a smart move on his part.

Vegeta’s brother, Tarble, is introduced in the 2008 special Yo Son Goku and Friends Return. He is also mentioned in the Battle of Gods movie and again in DBS Broly. He’s his younger brother who is married to a small bald alien girl named Gure.
He doesn’t really show up in the story since BoG made it clear that Vegeta never asked Tarble as to where he lives when he leaves Earth after the 2008 special so basically nobody knows where he went and have no way to contact him.
Considering he’s kinda weak, he really doesn’t have a point to show up anyways unless its going to be for something very specific. Maybe he’ll show up in Dragon Ball Daima since that’s supposed to be having the cast explore space so they could run into him at some point
I like that Broly was the character that helped Goku fully embrace his saiyan heritage. Until this movie came out, never before had goku referred to himself as Kakarot. It's almost as if the name alienates him or makes him part of a race of barbarians. But after meeting Broly in this film he understands that saiyans are not inherently evil.
That's a MAJOR character development!

This is just not true at all. Goku has accepted that he's a saiyan since the frieza saga. Him telling broly to call him kakarot is because vegeta does and it might be a reference to how broly originally always screamed "kakarot!"

When Gogeta got serious when they got back to the regular dimension, it was up for Broly. The look of fear in his eyes before that last Big Bang Kamehameha was crazy; he knew it was over.
It’s also sad too, Broly had a shit day and he only calms down from his anger by being so afraid of dying in that moment. He was scared back into focus

@@DMaC02121 He will come back. In the manga he sparred with Beast Gohan. Gohan explained that to harness the power of his beast form he has to access his deepest rage and just before the blind rage fully takes over him, he would snap back and use the power stored in him. Broly learned from Gohan and now he can maintain SSJ without going berserk.
Beast Gohan was also able to tap Goku in his MUI and literally punched Goku so hard he lost UI for a bit.
Vegita wanted to try Beast Gohan too against his UE, then Trunks and Goten got involved. It just turned out to be a huge Saiyan free for all fight.
A fun family brawl at Beerus's planet.

That Kamehameha at the end was definitely gonna kill Broly which I’m glad Broly didn’t die at the end of this movie, cause now in the future he’ll be a very powerful ally.

Vic Mignogna was Broly's VA for the movie. Unfortunately Bulma's VA and a couple others made what turned out to be unsubstantiated accusations against him and funimation dropped him as a VA before any investigation was done. It's why i only watch original subtitled DB animation.
They replaced him with Johnny Young Bosch (Black Mighty Morphin Power Ranger, Vash the Stampede, Ichigo from Bleach) That's who voices him now since Dragon Ball FighterZ.

I've been in situations similar where I've said or done something that was perceived in a different way. I was in a situation where I had greeted a young girl and softly patted her shoulder as I was walking up a flight of stairs into my house, and my wife was directly behind me, saw the whole thing. It was a harmless pat. She went inside and told her cousin and dad that I touched her... But she must've made it seem that I did something bad. Both my wife and I came down to talk with them, and my wife defended me and told them that nothing happened...
I didn't think it was wrong, but someone else did, or felt uncomfortable... And things like that follow you, especially when you're a celebrity in the industry.

The voice actor was Vic Mignogna who immediately after this movie was accused of sexual harassment and was fired from voice acting. He is a great voice actor!
Not only was he falsely accused of sexual harassment, his co-workers and damn near everyone in the industry he worked in turned on him, even after the allegations were proven to be false. His career was ruined and he was failed by the courts who didn't do everything they could to go after those he claimed falsely accused him.

Broly's FORMER voice actor is Vic Mignogna. He was wrongfully fired because of the MeToo movement. He was labeled a harasser (with no proof) just because he was a hugger. His fans stood behind him but he was still royally fucked over. And the person to blame is Bulma's voice actor Monica Rial. Gotta love women looking to make a quick buck and get their time in the spotlight.

Some fun facts:
Despite Broly being known as the legendary super saiyajin for all these years, when this movie came out and Broly arrived to the canon, this was changed, first he goes into Super Saiyajin and then he goes into one with some greenish hair, that is officially known as Super Saiyajin Full Power, this one is theorized (or was it said by Toriyama? I don't remember) to be the true Super Saiyajin in the way that this is the last mortal form that any Saiyajin can achieve through mastering the previous 3 transformations, Broly was the exception due to his appsrently unlimited potential as he skipped SS2 and 3 and went directly to the max power.
When Wiss is distracting Broly, he didn't also showed off against Broly but also against Gogeta. How? If you pay attention, before Gogeta teleports to Wiss, the later makes a quick move to the back and then Gogeta appears where Wiss moved from, meaning that even Wiss is capable of avoiding a technique that's basically instant such as the teleportation.
Once Gogeta went SS Blue, Bromy couldn't touch him, however this doesn't mean that the fight was over and in fact, Broly was getting stronger and with more time he would've surpassed Gogeta. This is demonstrated in 2 scenes. The first scene is Broly surviving the Soul Punisher technique (the rainbow colored energy ball), this technique was believed for a long time by the fandom as one that destroys the evil inside the target, this because of how the teen Ogre in Gogeta's debut movie appeared after Super Janemba was destroyed by this technique, however the official movie guide describes the technique as a basic energy ball attack, one that can destroy an enemy if the power difference is big enough like any other energy attack, the teen Ogre surviving was made for just narrative reasons. So, the fact that Bromy survived that attack from Gogeta SS Blue meant that he was close to Gogeta's power level. Then we have the Manga, when the Mori arc was starting, Goku remembered the fight against Broly and said that they somehow managed to win, this means that he doubted if they could win against him in the end.
The last fun fact is that this is the first time in the Dragon Ball Anime that Vegeta has used the SS God transformation, he uses that transformation in the Gonu Black arc in the manga.
Broly was getting eviscerated by Gogeta by the time he went Blue. Rewatch the fight, Broly was getting dominated. Also in the novelization of DBS Broly it says that Broly feared for his life when he Gogeta.
Also he was getting his assed whooped so hard his pupils came back. Broly got bailed out by Cheelia.
He has a little brother called tarble. They made a short movie about him and the Z warriors.
Freiza wasn't too worried about the rest of the saiyans. He was afraid of them as a group.
"But Broly you can call me Kakarot."
That is a bit of a nod to the original OVA. Surely you guys at least remember that simply uttering that word in hearing distance of Broly would throw him into a rage. By the last 20 min of the movie that is all he could say.

It's so strange that they didn't notice that when goku was going super sayain god ss then goku hair change to white meaning he was about to go ultra instinct against Broly instead went to blue
I like this movie because it spells out something that was always implied but never outright confirmed: The Super Saiyan transformation is accessing the ki of their Oozaru form without needing to look at the moon or physically change. All of the levels of it are just accessing more of that reserve of energy more efficiently, with the added cost of increased stamina drain at each level.
And then Super Saiyan God is entering a state where there is no distinction between their ki and their body, all of that energy is perfectly contained in and one with their physical form. And then Blue is going Super Saiyan while doing that.
This bit is definitely at least half headcanon. At the very least.
@@jonathannoble7845 Yeah that's half headcanon but you're not too far off. Just a couple things:
- Super Saiyan has nothing to do with the Oozaru form, in fact, in this very movie, Broly's "rage" form (base hair, green aura, yellow pupils) is actually exactly that, him getting into Oozaru form without actually transforming. This was also so Toriyama could rework GT's Super Saiyan 4 in the future (since SSJ4 is accomplished controlling the Oozaru power, as per GT lore).
- Later stages of Super Saiyan don't necesseraly mean more stamina drain. That's just SSJ3, SSJ2 doesn't drain more stamina than SSJ.
No, Super Saiyan is not that. Brolys Rage form is tapping into the Oozaru. Super Saiyan is completely separate.

Once Gogeta went Super Saiyan Blue, Broly never landed a hit. Gogeta literally knocked the sense back into Broly and that last Kamehameha would have killed Broly. Broly never stood a chance against Gogeta.
Once Gogeta went blue, Broly didn't touch him even once (other than when they clash fist). That Kamehameha was with full intention of eliminate Broly and we know that cause Whis even say that the battle was about to reach its conclusion, if it wasn't for the wish Broly will be dust by now

Yeah. Gogeta straight up skipped SSJ2, 3 and God. Broly barely kept up with him in SSJ and SSJ3 alone is 4 times stronger than SSJ1. God is way, way, way stronger and Blue is 50 times stronger than God (since it's just stacking SSJ on top of SSG). So like, Broly wasn't gonna touch Gogeta
Thing is frieza goes around demolishing planets so beerus doesn’t have to. Why he’s always napping & eating & you never see him doing destruction duties. For beerus frieza is just doing his job for him lol. Only difference is beerus use information on the civilisation to determine on if the planet is worth evolving & being better or if it’s at its limit & they’ll destroy it. There are theories that The reason the writers are making the Dragonballs so easy to find nowadays it’s gonna tie into the shadow dragons from GT which was caused by the dragonballs being used to much and they cracked so maybe they will do something with that
