- Uncle Larry turns over some rocks on the shallow shores of the mysterious River of Life, and takes a few pictures with God’s camera that he found laying on a park bench…with the lens zoomed out as far as it can go.
Oh, and he tries out a pedal too…

one is an instrumental solo record called "Plexi Soul" that is available here:

another is an instrumental collaboration with his dear friend Dean Deleo (originally from the Stone Temple Pilots organization) that is available here:

Just got done laying down 20 yds of concrete, sat on my bucket, turned on my phone and Larry was waiting on me to shoot the sheet. Life is good!
Lunch break blues! Perfect timing for me too! 🤙🏼
❤wow Jon..I have been watching cement pours…they been coming up on my alga. Hard work, skilled one.
That’s a lot of mud
It’s not bad when you have skilled hands that work for you. Blessed with a good crew.
@@a.m.phaneuf6164 Do youu know how to break up a Mexican wedding celebration?... You get a Mexican cement crew foreman to yell out to the crowd "MUD'S HERE!" My Mexican friend T-Bird told me that joke when I was 17 and we were pouring cement. I'm 3/4 Hispanic so I'm permitted to tell this joke.
The "sappy" kind of stuff you're talking about is my definition of being a real grown ass man. Gratitude is probably the #1 personality trait for a decent human
love it!
Great father. Great man. Great guitarist
thank you dude...i appreciate that
Uncle Larry, it’s important that you understand how much your listeners get out of your “classes”. It’s not merely the technical mastery you share but possibly more important, the wisdom you share. For context, imagine how much you would have loved getting to hear Chet Atkins or Merle Travis share their early experiences both in the studio and out. I hope that puts it in the right perspective. We love you man.
thank you bro i appreciate that
Dude said Chet Atkinson.
@@woodyboley9785 Auto fill my man but you are a right, should have read over before posting.
Very well said.
@@woodyboley9785You’ve never heard of Chet Atkinson? He’s a very underrated heavy metal shredder……😂
I don't normally comment on anything but, Tom just said something in this video that is so true and bares repeating to every guitar owner to consider ... "Just of yourself as the custodian of that instrument until your death. That's what I do. Nobody owns anything, we are just holding. We are renting these instruments for our lifetimes."
I thank the Lord every day that we get to play! Cheers Tom!!
True dat!! Amen and amen my good man!!
A bending masterclass. Thanks Buk. And, I think Fred Flintstone would have a Two Rock. Barney would play would play through a Magnastone.
Neil Young said it best in “This Old Guitar”
This old guitar ain't mine to keep
Just taking care of it now
It's been around for years and years
Just waiting in its old case
It's been up and down the country roads
It's brought a tear and a smile
It's seen its share of dreams and hopes
And never went out of style
The more I play it, the better it sounds
It cries when I leave it alone
Silently it waits for me
Or someone else I suppose
thank you, dear friend , may I say....
Excellent. Thank you.
Gratitude makes us all better! Thanks Tom
love the thankful heart man.
Beautiful video, Tom! Enjoy all the days!
Bringing joy and ❤ love to my heart and soul as usual.🎸🎵🎶
Where's that tip jar🎶🙌🏾
my dad had a seafoam strat hanging in his studio, I remember seeing it growing up, he did sessions out of our garage and apparently the strat belonged to his guitarplayer friend TJ. TJ took it back eventually when we moved outta that house and I regret to say I never got to play it.
I really love the beautiful and positive messages lately, friend. Thank you as always! 🙏🏻
Some mighty tasty blues licks Uncle Larry - love the tension you create in the riffs!
It took me about 4 minutes to get my head around that sound. Thanks!
My day is always better after I watch your video's Tom! True statement.
Larry show us more licks! Love you dude thanks as always
Thank God for your channel. Have I told you lately how much I appreciate you? Thank you, you're amazing! 💖🙏😎
Ah the understated beauty of the flitch match 🔥 🦉🔥
cheers Tom!
Larry, I love the way you approach the blues. So much more than straight ahead pentatonics. Thanks for sharing!!
Tom, we appreciate your moments of effusive appreciation! Thank you, brother.
Love the Flintstones! Thx !
Glad the boys are all good !! and we are all as the shirt says ‘golden’ to have Homeskoolin and you Tom
This morning's post is just what I needed, we all need a whole lot of gratitude, if that is sappy, then i will take sappy gladly. As ever, thank you Uncle Larry.
Love that plunky picked by the bridge tone. Love doing that on hollowbodies too, so funky
Preach it brother....we have it so good...and we're thankful for you
I'm thankful for you every day Uncle L ! Every time there's a new Homeskoolin' video poking its head out of the ocean of suggested clips I feel that same burst of energy and contentedness. Heartwarming story about Dec. 31 with your boys in the Colts box. Very cool ! That will be a truly beautiful scene. Thank you for bring us Homeskoolers along week by week through the year. You contribute more to our lives than could ever be expressed. We all love this guitar thing and you help make it deeper and more soulful by sharing your insights.
With Gratitude - John
well said little tommy. happy thanksgiving for you and kenny too.🤟
You’re a pure rock and roll animal!
Love that Firebird! You really play it well.
Uncle Larry brilliant as usual ✌👍
Man, of all your guitars, I think I like that one the best.
Another great video Tom, looking forward to the new buk-trapp record
Love the playing and expert advice from Buk but also the ongoing beefs with teddy boy and others is hilarious fantastic content
This installment of Fretboard Twister is killer!!! Thank you!
Man.! I love looking at the beautiful mahogany Firebird..! Reminds me of my classic Tbird bass..🔥
Thank you uncle Larry for sharing the Love! Happy for you and the boys. The bird looks and sounds sweet! Peace
Uncle Larry I love you so much thanks for your videos and everything you do. Lee from Rugby, Warwickshire England x
Hi Tom couldn't agree more feel very lucky to have a special guitar that found me thanks for all the wisdom
Love it when you are just your self and chat....feel like we are just hanging out over coffee.....glad you had a great day.
Loved the video today 🤸♀⚡🔥🏆🥇🎉
I love that burst of yours! It's beautiful! You make it sound so, so, great! Keep that guitar, it matches well with you.
Tom, is there a day when you're not inspired ?! every time you play it's great , and never the same thing...thanks so much for these videos, count on me if there's some kind of subscription !
Wow Tom seems you been spending some time down at the crossroads. Really playin some great blues blues man.
Damn, the Tone!!! Awesome!!!
You're playing helps a smidgin' too...
Great as always! Here’s an idea, 12 days of Larry…I feel like that could get interesting
I have been sick as a dog for the last couple of days with the vid. The playing and tid bits about life have been helping the healing. Thanks Uncle Larry.
Done with work at 11 am. Having a sixr. This is great. Thank you for your time you share with us.
I for one appreciate your couth, Unc. ✌😄
8:00 - Geez Dude... my eyes are swelling up. You are a really good person and have a beautiful heart. I sure appreciate you!
Love that 63 Firebird, it was made the same year I was born. Sounds sweet, especially when you play it! Your knowledge and advice that you share with everyone is very inspiring and very much appreciated, and I admire your sense of humor also and how down-to-earth you are. Thank You, and have a great weekend!
Just want to say thanks for the playing and teaching over the course of the last few years.
I wore my Homeskoolin hoodie to a nativity at kids school and was apt as it was just songs and music.
Have a great Christmas with the kids Tom and all the best from England 🍻
PS I need to get a firebird one of these days as you can certainly sell those tones
Just saw a promo for the Willie Nelson Tribute concert this weekend, featuring you, Uncle Larry! Can't wait to see it.
Sappy and grateful is pretty damned awesome! “…bless us everyone”.
I have this same conversation with my son all the time. We have it pretty damn good here. Zoom out
Have a great day Tom! Thankyou!!!
It’s all about “the plumbing”, Tom. Everything else is bonus material.
It appears Kenny is a great admirer of al things music and isnt afraid to show his respect for people.
Uncle Larry, pretty cool hearing you give a shout out to the guy's guitar at Mass St. Music. My in-laws live in Lawrence and every time I visit them, I stop at that shop. Really good guys and store!
Gotta say love when Larry pull out the Firebird I, das it mane!!
Ah... My favourite, most classy bluesman IS BACK 😮❤
Marshall has great taste, that strat is beautiful !
Many people move through life being angry about what they don't have. The wisdom of perspective is being humble and grateful for what you have, whatever it may be. Thanks for another great video Tom and a gentle reminder about perspective.
Two thumbs up for your gratitude and perspective! Sappy is fine by me.
I Hope ‘Get Your Ass Pipe Checked’ becomes a bonus jam track.🤣
Guitar playing in the beginning of this video was quite extraordinary.
You are a national treasure! I laugh at nearly every word...chord strummer/brewery serenader here!
Sappy & Sentimental, sounds like a new album. We love it when you get that way. It's the humanity part of you that we love.
We are just custodians in our lifetimes for great instruments. I love that!
Thank you for that perspective and "zoom out" on life. My wife says to me every day "Each day is a gift" and younger me would readily agree and identify with it as a pleasant platitude, but 62 year old me, having lost too many friends and family, recognizes it at a visceral level. It's always so good to be reminded. Good on ya, Buk!
The return of the Birdman from Ohio!!! That's a great sounding and looking bird.! I think of Johnny Winters whenever I see a Firebird
Everyday i watch Uncle Larry, Guthrie Trapp, Robben Ford, Jack Ruch, Josh Smith, Guthrie Govan etc etc... and boy, I'm comparing myself to those guys and I feel like I suck at guitar and ive been playing for 35 years. And then, you play with cats around you and compare yourself and then maybe you found yourself not so bad after all! its all perspective! Thanks for sharing all your knowledge Uncle Larry, means a lot !! greetings from Montreal!!
Just want to let you know, this channel is really great. I could listen to you bullshit and jam all day. You seem like a top notch, cool ass dude.
Your channel is such a breath of fresh air in a world of thinly veiled infomercials disguised as guitar “content”. Thanks for keeping it real and that Firebird is outrageous.
‘preciate the reminder.
You seem to be always
w/the wisened approach,
& tone!
“Great lesson, huh?!?”
Hey Tom, thanks for the how not to play sports bar blues lesson. Your tone was awesome! Btw, that sea foam green Strat is my fantasy guitar.
🖤💙🖤 Love those slides and bends! Yummy!
I got to say something, remember the Wrecking Crew session guys and Muscle Shaols, man, as someone standing outside looking in, you're at par with them. I really enjoy your videos, I love your input on life as a musician. Not always easy but it's something you enjoy and I'm sure you wouldn't trade that life for anything else. Cheers and Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Dang!! That tone!!
Thanks again Uncle Larry...
In the right lighting, I notice you can see the shadows of the sunburst on the top, but in other light it is quite lemony, Magical. Like an eclipse. ...but I still like the sound of that 335. Thanks, Tom!
I had never wondered what the Flintstones might use for amps until this video!! 😂 Hi watt and Fenders makes perfect sense!! Merry Christmas Uncle Larry!!!
Funny, I have a son Marshall and we were just talking about that the other day. About zooming out and seeing how bad some people have it. Breaks my heart man. Have a great day.
You're spot on about Barnie and the tweed Fender.
Tom, thank you taking the time to make these. I really appreciate it
Yeah man, I owned one, I don’t like the pickups
The way you talk about 'The Burst" reminds me of how I felt about my wife of 32 years when I first met her. I still feel the same way..
Tom, gratitude is a wonderful thing! As I grab my Yuengling and raise it to you. Here's to Uncle Larry, may you wake up every day, healthy, well rested and grateful for the myriad of blessings that surround you. Cheers my friend!
P.S. I, for one, enjoy a sappy Uncle Larry.
Your boy has great taste in strats! That's my favorite!
Man, that is so awesome that you’re going to the Colts game with your boys. That’ll be a lifetime memory. Lots of jealous petty people like to take shots at the Bossman. But he seems like an incredibly generous dude. I can’t even imagine how much every free concert he puts on costs him out of pocket. It has to be close to 7 figures.
Kenny A seems like a solid human as well a super drummer. Wish there were more like him. Ever nimble hands working magic on that bird. Btw, I hug my kid every chance I get. Sound advice, thanks
Love the shirt!
I cracked up out loud on the bus home at the Bundy reference!
Luv that Bird (as usual). Someday I'll get a nothern'
Tom, the words about renting are very strong! It's good if our children and our children's children continue our rental...
God bless 🇺🇸✌🏻🎸🎶
Hey Tom, your gift of guitar and gift of gab have become a part of my daily routine.
Fun question: If the Beatles had ever regrouped for a one off concert in the 1970s, choose 3 songs that would blow your mind as potential show openers. Mine would be, in no particular order, "She said, she said", "Revolution" and "I am the Walrus" (with a full orchestra).
That faux slide lick is killer!!
i love Kenny's story. the things he has done to to learn and relearn his craft to keep himself doing what he loves for a living. many people who wrote him off during the early Melonhead days are forgotten names but here we sit talking about Kenny 40 years later!
Love the UA golden shirt!!
